Well I've not needed them much but then I don't work very hard. I mainly find the double dogs on my 661 annoying when changing chains on a flat bench.

Good to see you back here Steve and very good to see you're still in the woodworking business; I have in mind the woes Covid caused you. Jon -

Do you mean the value of the timber removed? I have been a Timber buyer for many years and could help with that. If you mean value of the amenity, or cost of replacement or similar then that is not my field.

Ford Transit Tipper, 2012 2.4 diesel tipper. Current mileage 98k. Owned since 2017 and has been regularly serviced and well looked after. Good tyres, M&S tyres on the rear. Flashing beacons, towbar & Tarpaulin. The rear springs are uprated so it doesn't sit down at the back with a load in. All in good working order and MOT till February. Small amount of rust coming through on the front wing and the usual minor scratches and small dents you'd expect form a working van but otherwise in generally very good condition. Yes I hadn't come across the 'coming to the nuisance' thing before. Just reading around it and asking AI.. Not sure how much I personally agree with the brief summary of the below case, however such is law. This presumably could also translate to building a house next to trees then making the tree owner liable for any nuisance issues that arise. Sturges v Bridgman (1879) A doctor built a consulting room next to a long-established confectioner whose machinery caused vibrations. The court held that the confectioner was liable. Famous dictum: “What would be a nuisance in Belgravia Square would not necessarily be so in Bermondsey.” The doctor’s arrival did not bar the claim

Stake looks like it needs removing and & having slate round trees isn't a good idea in general imo. If you really want to max out the crop remove the slate add a mulch round base and through pruning or pegging them down try and get the branches spaced out & make them more horizontal or at least 45 degrees as your tree looks to have a lot of vertical branches which tends to fruit less. Poor blossom but a good crop kind of sounds odd to me as to get a good crop you need good blossom. Also what compatible pollination partner apple trees are growing nearby may also affect fruiting. On a side note that staking pic in the RHS book isn't best practice imo better to do like in the photo below. I think if a stake is attached lower down a trunk as trees develop roots better with some trunk movement is its beneficial imo for root growth . My rule of thumb is attach a stake no higher than 2/3 up a trunk from ground to crown base often lower, RHS book pic looks too high and restrictive and not ideal also staking diagonally avoids the root ball. Also the rootstock type combined with apple variety with govern overall tree max size/vigor and its growth habit and how to approach on any pruning. From the picture looks to be on fairly vigorous root stock size hence the growth..

It's made in the UK, that's about the extent of my knowledge tbh as my climbing days are well over. I only ever used prussik loops then swapped to a hitch climber and then the zigzag which I thought was a game changer. It will be interesting to see how well it works with SRT and how differently it works either on its own or used with a tether. I don't get the removal swivel bit as I thought that it could be used with or without the swivel but it doesn't look like it can't. Has anyone had any hands on experience with it?

Yes a reboil, but only for 30 mins or so, plus a bit more sugar and lemon juice. The dark colour is probably a consequence of me cooking it so long. Also, I had a few Quinces mixed in with the Meddlars. It's tastes nice, that's the main thing.
