  3. Morning All! Seems bright but blustery today. Later on, off to south Devon to see the old folks. Possibly fossil hunting at Charmouth tomorrow! Be good y'all! Peds! How's the recovery? Toot, Odes, Loaf. (I know it's correct, but, someone explain it please!)
  4. There have been a few where the scammers have got away with it and one where the good guys were desperately trying to get through to one old guy who it turns out had been turned over once before in the past and was stringing them along .

  9. What do you prefer: steel carabiner or Hexarope Hands Up?
  10. What were the bits being put right out of interest?
  11. And since we're steadfastly refusing to help the OP, let's just talk about mowers and tractors. What are alpines good for besides looking cool? When would you want one over a conventional tractor and vice versa?
  12. Thank you all for your responses. It’s a learning process for me but some takeaways from it: 1. daltontrees – agreed, ‘wilful’ in modern English suggests a malicious act (which would be difficult to define) but it seems that in legal parlance it has a subtly different meaning; it appears to be the opposite of ‘unaware’, in that it refers to an action taken with knowledge that it contravenes some statute or recommended procedure, rather than an action taken in ignorance of the same. 2. Tree monkey 1682 – Local Authorities have considerable powers but in my area they fail miserably to use them; Not far from the Oak tree was a large mature Walnut tree. The owners applied for planning permission for an extension stating on the application that no trees were affected but hidden on one of the drawings was a statement that the tree was diseased and would be removed. Up went the extension and down came the tree. 3. MarkJ and waterbouy – thanks for the Arboricultural Association link, I hadn’t seen that before. When I get the Tree Surgeon’s report I will forward it to the landowner along with the AA link and a link to BS5837:2012 and copy the council Tree Officer. At least that way the landowner cannot claim acting out of ignorance.
  13. Would of thought electric fault, will moving throttle hold key to stop it vibrating and moving. My 150 would shut down when you dropped rev down turn out to be ignition switch, just sprayed WD40 into key hole and have never had a problem with it,
  14. We were lucky enough to move into a house with a lovely established magnolia in the front garden. It flowered and held it's leaves well last year but this year it's struggling. About 1/4 to 1/3 of the branches have not grown leaves after winter (the others flowered) and are smaller branches are dry and crumbly to touch. Some have side branches with leaves and others without. I haven't spotted any particular pattern to it. We did some work in a flower bed nearby this spring and spread soil enricher from an Anaerobic Digestor around but otherwise have not gone near it. I am worried the tree is dying. What might be going on here, is there anything I can do to save it? It's such a lovely tree we would hate to lose it. Any help would be gratefully appreciated
  15. Taught to do the same? Still do it now out of habit. Anything to give a longer lasting “edge”? And it doesn’t take long.
  16. So finally I was able to put this to work, enjoy part 1, cause part 2 will be stuff that is not on the book
  17. Is it even worth getting a survey on?
  18. Sorry mate, had a look and same thing. Perhaps see if u can get a friendly local fab guy to help you out?
  19. Off to South Devon to see the old folk tomorrow, Mum has dementia and lost the ability to be creative in the kitchen and gets upset if Dad starts.... Vat of Rogan Josh with local rules applied to be potted up for their freezer! Thanks for the correction Mick. It does look good with the roof and windows,
  23. NICE! welcome to the club. They are leagues ahead of a sany particularly when it comes to large lumps and hillsides. I’ve watched a hired sany struggling on the same hillside that the e27 romped up.
  24. Cundys vary, last I saw a manual feed for £1800 and an auto feed around £2300 not sure on the neuhauser
  25. Thanks everyone. I started by taking the rope off. I ordered a soil test kit. I will share the results. As for drought conditions, I am not sure. We get rain often but not sure how much is needed for this tree. Can I over water?
  26. The chain speed on grapple is below 25m per sec, so chainshot isn't an issue.
