  6. Ganoderma Lucidum, a pretty rare find and the first time that I have encountered it in 30 years on the job. Growing around 3m up on the stub of an old wound, host was Oak, Haute-Vienne region.
  7. To be honest, your post sounds like an ideal customer of the woodlotting companies. 3 acres isn't a big patch and I would guess the prices will be similar to woodlands. It is worth looking around their web site as they provide some useful info. I bought a piece of woodland well over 10 years ago now and looked at some of the woodlotted plots and spoke to some of the woodlotting people. They offer a service and price accordingly. You could always buy a much larger area than 3 acres and sell off what you don't need. I ended up looking at much larger areas, I even viewed some large woodlands that were subsequently woodlotted so I got a good idea of prices. If you have an area in mind then trawl through all the estate agents of that area and track down the ones that deal with agricultural land, fields, bits of woodland etc. The piece I ended up buying was almost an afterthought on some paddocks for sale for horses. Sometimes farms are broken up and a suitable bit of woodland can be found. I think for such a small piece the price will be be dependant on the area and it's hard to give even a vague idea of price, it's likely to be far more than a commercial forestry price. I'd look at smallwoods magazine for ideas on insurers, I could dig up the details if you need them. I ended up extending our house insurance to cover our woodland.

  9. Never thought of it like that before but yes... going through all my saws in my head thats pretty bang on!
  10. C'mon he's never earned a days wage in his life. Clock punching maybe.
  11. Check that the fuel tank is not full of crap as the poor starting may be due to settlement- Dirty fuel filter may be an indicator
  12. It snowed mid morning for about an hour . Great big flakes the size of a saucer ! Ground too warm for it to settle .
  13. Yes that should happen. Now open each screw, one at a time and tell us which one is allowing the air through…. I think that’s ok too. You are blowing into the metering chamber only, so long as you have the little valve and it’s gubbins plus the diaphragm in place. That’s the chamber where fuel is supplied to the jets….. So here you are creating a little bit of pressure on the fuel side of the jets, you are blowing through the main jet and low speed jets in the direction they are supposed to work. The one way valve in the main jet should be open in this direction. With the low speed circuit there is sometimes a little one way valve at the entry to the low speed circuit, which would also be open in this direction. What is not ok is the purge bulb (or you) being able to suck through the main jet one way valve. And it’s not ok, being able to suck through the low speed circuit one way valve if there is one, less of a big deal, but still not good. Worth mentioning, both one way valves are often a little leaky with air, less so with fuel in them. Secondly, if the purge button pops back really slow and fills with air, its likely the fuel filter inside the carb is probably blocked …. bulb can’t suck fuel so it does what it can and sucks air, through the jets. And finally, leaky fuel line (between carb and bulb) or the bulb itself will allow air into bulb, I think this is pretty obvious. But less obvious maybe is that a leak in this area can easily allow air to be sucked into the carb metering chamber when engine is running…. Food for thought.
  14. Also is the cable routing slack enough to handle going round corners? but not too slack that it catches on things?
  15. I don't believe that it's about assimilation. On the push side it's just the age old pursuit of wealth and power, but happening at an unprecedented speed. On the pull side it's the human love of convenience and novelty. Digital per se isn't the problem. It'd be fine if it was used wisely and altruistically.
