  2. 'Eco-wedge', sell it for £6.99 with the loop, essential for sensitive sites where they make you use bio oil too. I can see the market.
  3. The regen function connects both ports of a double acting ram to the supply, so the force extending the ram is the hydraulic pressure acting on just the area of the piston rod cross section. The forces on either side of the rest of the piston being equal and opposite. Some log splitters use it to quickly take up the slack before the ram contacts the wood and start the split, once the supply pressure exceeds a limit the rod side of the cylinder is dumped to tank, so the pressure is exerted on the full area of the piston. Gas struts work in this "regen " configuration.
  4. Live in Edinburgh, Scotland - as opposed to all the other Edinburgh's it would be if you lived there.
  5. I thought these bee hotels were all Nobby bollox but was surprised my one was used so much and still is. Glad yours is becoming fully booked up👍
  6. 12 foot here too, I've got Brian James though. Based on what people who have ifors tell me the ramps are easier and lighter on mine, and it tows quieter, so I'd definitely suggest looking at both. I tow mine with a 110 hardtop, so I've got the long door mirror stalks fitted to see round it, and then the extra trailer width is not really an issue. Keep thinking about a remap, especially when the trailers full. Always get there though, just need to be patient.
  7. Yep, cut back to your main-frame in autumn/winter keeping and tying in any new growth that you want to extend the frame. When grapes first appear on a spring whip, cut the whip back to the fruit plus one or two leaves. This means all the growth goes into the fruit and not into producing great long leafy whips.

  9. Outstanding, thank you Stuck. I'll follow those leads and see what develops.
  10. ‘Overhanging and loss of light’ is pretty simple. No one is responsible because if the tree is worthy of a TPO neither would be given any consideration, so permission to prune wouldn’t be granted anyway. Structural damage isn’t as simple. Proving the tree was responsible would be the first hurdle. @daltontrees?
  11. All wood is felled and straight. it is all millable ranging oak to ash mostly few big straight bits of yew aswell. Also we have 4 metre lengths of cherry most of it is easily accessible from a gravel track

  20. Good Morning All.
  21. I would start with blossom wilt, but check the curled leaves to see if anything in living there. You will need to remove all infected growth, cutting back to healthy wood. This material either needs to be burnt or taken away from site. I've had good success with a winter spray of Jays fluid diluted 50/50 with water.
  22. I looked in at the BBC Live coverage of the proceedings a couple of times yesterday and yes, ev'tin TW says ^. Took their trackers er, phones, took pictures, left messages, didn't take scenic route, didn't delete the F out of everything. Right down to the meta-data for the pics giving the exact location of the tree! Seems - like the old boys who did the Hatton Garden job - they just had no idea what those little devices are capable of. I often wonder if there wasn't a cabinet/security meeting about twenty years ago; and someone said, "We are going to introduce a scheme whereby everyone will be forced to carry personal trackers and criminals will be required to film their criminal activity" And everyone just laughed. Then someone said, thoughtfully, "You know, we could make it work if we..." And the rest, as they say, is where you put your arm.
  23. Plug the screw holes and put the rack on Ebay? I have a mate who gets warped planks from me,cuts holes for tea lights, sands and oils them and puts them in a designer furniture shop for £350! Unique, sustainable, locally sourced etc
