I was saying it was when machines went from having the standard A bar over the infeed chute , to then having chutes a certain distance /height away from rollers , then the bottom stop bar that was over sensitive ..then the paddle switches and emergency stop buttons . I mean how many safety devices does one need for one fecking machine. You can never risk asses idiots

Politicians should shut the fck up. Politics is statehood which is violence. Don't pay your TV licence. Ignore the court process. Fight the coppers who come to cage you. They'll eventually shoot you if you fight back hard enough. Politicians are fine with political violence as long as it isn't directed at them.

Your age and climbing experience might actually make you a better tree climber... go the easy safe way rather than all out and taking the odd dodgy move. Age isn't as limiting as you might be led to believe. Constant knocks from tree climbing does take its toll though (you don't have that though 'experience'). What I was going to comment, and I am not sure if they will, but there are a few members here who have been in the military, now doing arb work, who might be able to give unique insights of any issues you might encounter with this career shift.

If you can split them and then let them dry that is better - smaller pieces will dry quicker

Again, another rambling…… On from the skid steer idea, after chatting to a few people my way who run both I’ve decided a digger makes more sense for the workload/type, plus they are similar money and more versatile! I’ve got my heart set on a 1.8/2t machine, that will go on my 2700 plant trailer (weighs 600kg) and has vari tracks for access. I know 2.7t machines will move more but the lower weight/versatility is more important to me currently (plus they are cheaper) Does anyone out there run the smaller bobcat e19 or e20 as an arb digger, or a machine if a similar size-if so how do you find them? I did try trawling the arb digger thread but ran out of concentrate……..

Giant Tree Squid eats rocky bank. Excuse the dodgy quality. I found it last night, sorting out photos on Photobox. It was about 20 years ago, when people still used cameras. -
