Paypal is safe and easy to use - as a business and as a customer, protections on both sides - not really a question on that though, more business management. I guess the plus sides are the customers are used to paying for stuff with their phones - click a paypal link, job done where bank transfer - a slight extra hassle putting in all the account numbers. On the other side though, for a one off it is probably a few evenings work setting it all up as a business account, working out the transfer from paypal to business account - stuff like that. I'd be polite and say sorry, your business isn't able to accept paypal payments but the options are.... Air miles.... I've never bothered but what is the saving in £1400 worth of airmiles? £15 maybe? They might go for the next quote, a higher one no doubt, to collect the air miles but will be paying far more for that than any savings in ticket prices.

Sorry, no piccies, but this wasn't a planned event. Storm damage. A whacking great tree fell down across the road about half a mile from me, stopping the dearly beloved and I from going shopping. Cue turning round, and throwing some kit in the van, and going off to help the neighbours deal with the damage. I expected a fairly quick job, but it ended up taking a couple of hours, we only had pallet forks on the teleporter, and I had left the ideal strap for the job out of the van. The more I cut, the more the scale of the job became apparent, luckily nobody was hurt by the falling tree, and no significant damage occurred. ( Metal gate, postbox, and Blue Bin ). Neighbour's weaponry was an MS 250, they were mightily impressed by a 400 with a 20" bar on, especially as the stem was nearer 30" in places. Road is now open again, so all good.

I had a big sapling tree cut down that was growing over the house about 4 weeks ago, but these tree haven't perked up. They appear to be being choked by vines and aggressive roses. Are they passed the point of no return, they look very dead at the bottom?

The unloading was really no bother. The loading is what killed me. It probably wouldn't have fitted on a tipper without massive greedy boards, which a luton in effect has. Character building stuff.

I think the idea of using an impact driver as a way of managing the reaction torque is novel. To me it does have the whiff of snake oil about it, if you could suddenly increase cutting tool performance and life by a factor of two then people like Dormer and Sandvik would be all over it. After all cutting tools have been thought about a lot, by a lot of people. I suspect they are twice as good as cheap tat, and more equivalent to the decent ones that few people buy.

I run a setup not dissimilar to the one shown.Here the chip stays onsite 90% of the time,the versatility of a tracked machine with a drawbar and winch is unrivaled .

Again I something similar, I use a quad bike and a flail mower, the advantage being the quad bike has other uses about the place, trailer towing, dragging etc.

I've used Navara Kingcabs for 18 years. You can add a trailer to carry more and/or make up some greedy boards. Do you have a tripod ladder? If so you can use it to hold down several dumpy bags of arisings; stand on the ladder to press the dumpy bags down and to get the front feet down into the back of the buck against the tailgate and strap the thin end to the ladder rack behind the cab (you need one of those to put mesh onto to protect the rear screen). All sounds a bit niche but it's how I've done small tree and hedge work for all that time (with the trailer bit).
