Hi Dan It does make a difference, that's why we asked. We are trying to only post on a Friday, with whatever we are promoting on our socials and emails. I do notice that when we update the classifieds, they all pop up in the unread posts. As these run out after 2 weeks, I've started to try to spread them out so it's not too much at once. I can't control this as it's an Arbtalk thing. Pricing-wise, we should always be cheaper as we are only there to move on end-of-line products or out-of-packaging products. We will have a think and discussion on how to be more engaging in our content - any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your feedback, it is valuable to us as it should be for any business.

I would think the oil bath air filter would be a no no due to you needing to use the grinder on slopes etc. Have a look at the Chinese Honda copies for a replacement (Lifan etc). About half the price, electric start versions available. Obviously check crankshaft length/diameter before ordering. The foam sleeve that goes over the paper air filter element is an important part of the set up if working in dusty environment. It needs to be dipped in clean oil and squeezed out at regular intervals after washing out in petrol to catch any dust etc. before reaching the paper filter.

All the leftie libs, predicting "Trump is finished" π. Same predictions as last time. No, no, sorry, there's 3.5 more years of lulz in store for us all, like it or not. Then hopefully 8 years of Vance, and even more winning and liberal butthurt and lulz π. And Russia, China and India (all illiberal conservative civilisations) getting together and putting the wimpy West back in its historical place, pre empire days. To quote Q "Have faith in humanity". Turned out Q was right, it just wasn't "western" humanity he was talking about π. USA will come out of this chastened, but okay in the end. Europe will be ****************ed for centuries though. Arrogance and weakness, both poisons, in combination, deadly.

Maintence day for my other kit, have a few files started but this came with a nice looking file guide, and I've never used one so gave it a try. File is shite, wouldnt cut toffee. A worn Pferd file is massively better than this (Gustharts sell them). Handle, a bit smalll, not very ergonomic. Without heating the file tang I'm not sure how your supposed to fit it as it wouldnt go in very far. The guide, works like it should, but guides are shite and annoying to use. Luckily I dont need them although my right hand, for left hand cutters, needs practise.

Dumper, Ah, the site at the outfarm is good soil on top of basalt rock, like the well is cut into the living rock, right from ground level down, but our homeplace is on rank moss/ pure peat, with blue/ grey clay beneath. Cheers -

Fungus appeared this year on twin stem sycamore tree. Growing out of top of old cut wound. Given left hand stem on picture is leaning at appropriate 20 degrees at base is this a problem it terms of the tree becoming unsafe. Tree is approximately 25m tall.

I had a similar case with an old apple tree that looked half-gone after a bad winter. Pruning back the dead wood and giving it a season with mulch, compost tea, and slow-release organic feed really helped bring it back. Also worth checking for root rot or girdling roots. These trees are tougher than they look once stress is managed right.

I did my first full-fat, name-on-the-door job today. Had a climber in. I bored the life out of him telling him to take it easy, take time, be safe, constantly check himself for tiredness/complacency etc. You know what. I'm going to keep being boring. It's only gardening. Nobody needs to die.
