I may have told this story before... A guy I know had an old motorhome, think it was his first time going away in it, he was heading up north somewhere. He stopped at the garage and filled it right up, think it was a petrol engine in this thing. He keeps heading north, fuel gauge is showing empty, thinks it must be faulty gauge/sender. The bloody thing runs out of fuel and cuts out on him going across the Dornoch Bridge!! https://maps.app.goo.gl/RY5kY1VWNWtx2tTa8 So he thinks wow this thing has terrible mpg, he's not long filled it up. He decides to thumb a lift to a garage. Gets 5L of petrol and thumbs his way back. Takes him all day, he looks pretty dodgy stood at the side of the road thumb out, jerry can in the other hand. Finally he gets back to the van and pours in the petrol. Just as the last drop goes in, he spots a sticker next to the filler cap saying "water". He had been filling the camper water tank up with petrol!! In the end he phones up a family member to give him a lift to get more petrol!

Whaaat? I sincerely hope you are jesting! Why, my 038 in the shed will still fire up and do a day's work, and it's nearly 40 years old, I think. Surely a Pro saw will outlast a Farm saw? 😉 Mind you, even if it only does a couple more years, it might outlast me! 😂😂 OK, whimsy over, it's big money, but a 261 is small enough to handle, and big enough to pull an 18" bar if needed.

More simple steps please. I've plucked them, skinned them but if this is simpler and quicker I'll have a go. I've a brace hanging, first in over five years. I shall check the meat for steel shot with a pin pointer.

Aye that’s probs what we did .. was 5 + years ago so can’t remember what we did … I know it was dark when we left though !

Have you checked and set the valve clearances, and if so, did you do it on the correct stroke?

i'll give it a miss then. Nothing drives me mad than proprietary equipment that you can't work on. New cars and dealer only stuff but also I lived in a house for a while where the previous owners burglar alarm company refused to give me the admin code and tried to put me on an annual contract just for changing batteries and vacuuming dust out of the sensors. I won in the end, the previous owner was under contract not me.

Morning all, Mild here. Main man is off for two days, young lad who was going to be with me today has come down with flu, so going to make it up on the hoof today. Think I will take the mini digger and gnaw away at a rotten stump on a large windthrown cherry. Hopefully I can break it up enough that I can take it off site. have a good week.

Thowlining paraphernalia recommendations
Oldfeller replied to Steve Bullman's topic in Climbers talk
These are pretty good, you can with a little practice get the saws, all the fuel cans, rigging, safety gear and enough food to see the day out, all in one go, with the added advantage if you misjudge it a bit you and all the kit will smash most of the top out saving a lot of work, and you can do the rest when you regain consciousness. -

*Reaches for the Makita battery* 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥵 -
Good work! Phew! p.s. What saw/bar combo are you using? Do you use standard 6mm burrs in your die grinder or have you bought a 1/4” chuck?

Yeah, I think I ate too much cheese after dinner 😃 it was just heartburn, went away within minutes once I’d stopped laughing. 😆 Might keep my one remaining Makita 18v battery that holds charge on standby so I can lick it if I need a defibrillator! 😂🤣

my late friend had some eggs given to him and put them under a broody, odd looking things when they hatched,, turned out they were shamo aseels, they were impressive birds, fortunately only one was a cockerel, but boy was he a character, he would be affectionate like a loyal cat, and actively sought it out, but totally different with any threat to his hens, he would ride on his horses back, lie down with lurchers, and once he saw one attacking a fox that fancied chicken that night he let loose a full blown onslaught, between him and the dog they didn't just kill it,, they feckin' shredded it. the kids would carry him about on carts and even dressed him up one time. he was one comical guy alright.
