  2. Another one of those too many choices!
  3. Wordle 1,064 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. They white wash alot of trees in some countries I assume against sunscald or pests or both. I dunno how effective it is but doesn't seem to be harmful. Loads of white washed trees in France & Greece etc both street trees and orchards.
  5. Depends on the scope to be honest, Hawke have a great phone application that works that out for making zero easier. But with a normal scope you set the zero and don't ever adjust unless something changes.
  6. No, not building on arable or pasture, there is absolutely no need for that. There is plenty of buildings that stand empty that could be redeveloped and plenty of land that’s pretty much useless to landowners that could be repurposed.

    Homeless

Population increase but also... The large number of second homes etc increases each yr Also there are less council houses available every yr, right to buy etc... Homelessness increases.... Where will it end no idea but maybe gradually get more like USA where they have huge homeless shanty towns in some places. No UK politcal party seem willing to tackle the issue.
  9. Roadside £55 for chip, can't help with milling sorry but more than £55 😉
  10. Wouldn't paint the tree as it'll effect the gas exchange through the bark. I believe you can get a wrap, which they tend to use in America
  11. They don’t all appear appear to be homeless out there, some are professional beggars, a group living in flats were being dropped off in the morning by taxi, some have props such as sleeping bags and I know of one that keeps a suitcase and sleeping bag out of site behind a wall when not in use and tents not in use for long periods of time, there is a housing shortage for sure with house building not being kept up with growth in population. Some are unfortunately trapped in poverty for various reasons and I can’t see that changing any time soon.

  13. Hi Hangolup, thanks for the comment. Could you tell me a rough estimate for a decent sized beech delivered to OP's location?
  14. I would ask him how much he would pay and when he says something stupid like £?? return that offer saying well i will buy them off of you for £?? as that's all you think they are worth and watch his face change .
  15. We need less people not more houses. Building on arable or pasture? How’s that going to work out in the future? It’s not rocket chemistry.

round by my way i think the women are generally getting rougher even when theyre not sleeping
  17. Stacks of them when I visited a mate in Chester, loads when I went to see our kid in Stoke. Less than 10% of the Uk is built on yet we have a housing crisis. Where does it end, people living longer, immigrants, and ‘we’ are miles off building enough houses?
  18. It does @Doug Tait the early shifts are due to continue into May. so loads more 4:30 starts ahead. If I can stay awake in the afternoons I might be able to get up to some summer milling done. If not, I'll be happy that it pays the bills.
  19. Thanks guys, can't imagine me using them then, it's got log loading arms/ gull hydraulics. Yes previous owner has been very helpful, I have already asked him a ton of questions so thought I'd leave him alone for this one.
  20. Must feel more like lunchtime with the hours you've been keeping recently!
  21. I notice more and more rough sleepers every time I come back.
  22. Morning Day off lay in. Lovely. No real plans. Maybe sharpen a couple of the milling chains and follow my nose. Excellent news @Stubby
  23. CONTEXT :- Criminal Justice Bill: Nuisance begging and rough sleeping - GOV.UK WWW.GOV.UK
  24. Yes they are the ramps for parbuckling the log onto the bed, just seeing them brought back horrible memories
