  1. We all learn at someone else’s expense, that be someone’s p-take or....... learn by it.. me, I’m learning ? carry on.... edit....your work is fine work as I would know......cheers
  2. I agree, (for what my opinion is worth)?... any grease is better than none. but buying silly tubes be comes expensive, well everything in small amount is expensive. Oh and add the stihl premiere price to it, if you look at greases, they do have different adhesions/uses, but if your regular then as said before.. better than none. ?
  3. You will get some more detailed answers if you post a few pics and also where on this island you are, then you may have a lot more choices to choose from. but yeh you'll struggle with a 270
  4. I got the mewp and climbing but not the cscs, I don’t know if this is any good or I can help
  5. Very true that, if your from a far, there are some that are suspicious/unhelpful because of this , but unfortunately there are peeps that fuel the trusts and suspiciousness. But on the other hand not everyone is like it. And on forums like this trusts can be built or lost ? cheers.
  6. I have a 200t that the chain had made a hole in that cover,(your is not a very good pic to really see your problem) so I’m guessing the Fugger that owned my saw before abused it somewhat, it was also missing a chain catcher…like yours is ! ? Anyhow it’s all fixed up good
  7. there are a few guys that are livin that side of the water, I guess they have to pipe up, as to if they have the time etc. but as spud said try dealers first, then if you can’t find one, you have two options left.
  8. I was thinking, it looked like something had been up that tree and chopped a few limbs off , it set the balance that it would go some way the way they wanted it too as it was taking to long (priced to low) so then they went for the fell. No real place for it to go though. Apart from bustin through And the guys really fluffed it up, also who’s explaining and payin for that now flat saw. Anyhow good vid of how not to rush a job ?
  9. I can think of many ways, but I don’t know what’s in your tool box. But I know what’s in mine. i could knock up something like a the old 075\6 clutch tool or if you like something similar to a angle grinder tool to change the disks, but with longer bits to get onto the arms leading up to the clutch shoes, But as I would be making it I’d have 3 prongs. another way would be shims on the clutch nut so you could get an adjustable spanner on the shims as then nut is bigger Then by undoing the clutch it old push the bearing off. Or if you have a bearing puller, use it then get a spanner on the clutch.. but I don’t have one ?. and rope/starter cord as a piston stop

    Tree with a view

Nice, I do enjoy watching your vids.. cheers
  11. From what I’ve seen. It’s just a rebranded and the slightest redress of the same costume they already sell. But that’s not a bad thing as I’ve got a 100’ roll of lpx which I’m happy with. I could go on more about the multi cut being supposedly better. But if you canny get the topplate angle the Same as it come outta da box, then it cuts and last just the same as the lpx. Which I said I was happy with. But it that’s my opinion, your mileage will vary btw. I'm a really Carlton fan
  12. Remember, scumbags lie low for a month or 2 then pop up like a troll.
  13. Get someone in with a ferret. wot... you gettin into....rabbit fur-u-stuff, or just a bit more meat. ?. ????
  14. Yeh I agree, although danish cut was my favourite, aka danish default, danish pie. its a cut that takes the most time. bore cutting Is dangerous, yes. But that’s if you not experienced or not expecting it and in the wrong place (work positioning) . And the worst is all 3 put together.
  15. So as we’re talking advanced sharpening, there are a few alternative methods, depending on manufacturer of raker height (aka, depth gauges) Has anyone use these, if so what’s your comparison, what’s of better or just ok or rubbish And a bit from madsens1.com http://www.madsens1.com/bnc_depth_gauge.htm
  16. More money to be had rubbing old wannabes lady’s thighs with that beard, you just gotta be in the right place/forum...??
  17. Piston stop..... is a peace of starter cord... with a few small knots in it. And make sure it does not go into the exhaust port..?
  18. That’s what I was getting at in my poast, but it went over the heads of quite a few.
  19. Nice beard,, soon it will be movember
  20. I guess if the manual says grease every x of hrs, that’s them manufacturers covered. But the real faff is pushing the grease in, most home owners would only have titty nipples, not the greasey type..also those torx just strip, you. Have too gt spanner. On it. but good idea on a nipple modd, I will wait for a nipple mod that stihl sells for 10x the actual price ????????
  21. My son works in the local pub kitchen at weekends, however he had choices of work experience places . So he decided the pub was the best option as he was already in paid employment there, @£6 somthing p/h for two wks he was happy. he did tell me that if he went anywhere else it would have been free labour.
  22. Ahh, I worked out how to up load it ,from iBooks to Firefox then select it from the other/downloads the Carlton pdf is attached ?? complete-book.pdf
