  1. I was gonna say (i think it was said by wyk) squish is not set at the best size by the manufacturers, around 20thou is best for performance. And in the 2stroke tuners hand book by Gordon Jennings , it states fuel in the squish is mostly unburnt and does not contribute to POWAH.
  2. Love the hammer and chisel @16min I.m surprised he did break the rings putting on the way he did, then the dry assembly oh my that saw is gutless in the test cutting. I think I’ve seen enough
  3. I don’t know if you have used spikes, I guess you have thou. But a foot ascender to me is like spiking up a tree, I have to take small bites. though I found it was best to vary your technique, in size of steps to use different muscles as well as angle that you push down Well that is what I found but your mileage will vary cheers
  4. We covered that. using the other end of the rope in the course I was on. I even had to use it in my CS39 assessment, to get a triangular point. Then while cutting the darn saw was pushing me around to much, So then had to use the strop as well. I'm not saying I’m good, i5 was just what I had to do.. thats if if I understood what your putting down
  5. Get a 4mm file and just file down a bit into the gullet, just so you get a slight hook at the top of the toof. But not to much mind ....?
  6. This should give you the heads up, if you want it/think it’s worth it. https://www.educatedclimber.com/beranek-fundamentals/
  7. Yeh, if those straps were able to withstand x amount of force then I guess ok, but if a 7t digger was carried and had to stop el-quicko. That be asking a lot from some webbing straps. There is prolly a min requirement breaking strain for the weight of digger being carried. But I dunno what it is, and like I said if it can be seen and it’s an easy ticket, that’s there job to do just that... ohh my my.. things have changed since I was a fork truck driver. i just looked into some things and what a can of worms..if you want to waste time/lose some time have a read (there’s a few pages on transportation of logs and lots of funny math equations in this link https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/30c7c1dc-f26e-44af-bd4c-2434b43edd7e and this. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/load-securing-vehicle-operator-guidance/load-securing-vehicle-operator-guidance#steel-machinery-and-plant I could say it’s not a problem till it is, but there again maybe good to know so you don’t drop yourself in a big pile of poo.? wish it never derailed into this ???
  8. I think this comes into play, if there were a problem http://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/petrol-storage-club-association.htm But read it and take what you need..there’s only a prob if there’s a prob.... a bit like shoplifting, only if you get caught ???????
  9. I agree, if he advised, then ,that’s “if there was a problem”, you would be at fault. its what I’ve been saying if they can’t see, and then there is no problem. There is no problem.....? i could go into a mini digger on a flat bed trailer only secured with a strap that broke when the vehicle rear ended another vehicle. That was an insecure load your honour..and he got done for it (easy conviction) but that’s where I’ve been coming from all along. The end result was they use two straps now. Somthing to do with weight of item and stopping/crash/quickly max load..and no head board.. if it was still on the trailer not a problem..but it was on the road ?
  10. Just a thought...... the law is, 30lts fuel stored in a garage at home unless you jump up and down and pay lots of money. Or you never tell anyone, and the delivery person delivers to a business address. but if you never have a problem, then know one will know and will not be bothered. how many peeps stored fuel in the fuel delivery fiasco, for a short term...the law is to protect those silly peeps from hurting them selfs ??
  11. I think the term is “bounce”.... so a net would secure it bouncing out on the road.. and like I said what the eyes don’t see it’s ok. Your problem was Rusty coloured pennies type peeps seen you parked and knowing you will drive and recommend the best they know, I can’t see it so it’s ok....??
  12. If they can easy get a conviction, they usually will do..., so a word of warning/advice is what they will do if they are not sure, so not to loose face, so to speak. and that’s including you as the driver not saying I knew it was illegal, so convicting yourself..and being polite of course ?
  13. was was there an accident “your honour difflock” ??
  14. I hate to say it is a loose load in a bag that wood (pun intended) move going round a long bend or roundabout. And spill over the side. A cargo net wood make it look more secure. Back in the day we used to get artic loads of bricks only held by a cargo net. Now I think it’s a bit different. They have sides ? But are not strapped on..? i always work on, if it cant be seen then more than likely your not gonna get stopped, unless it’s a road block pull everything style thing.
  15. Well, I!m glad we’ve sort of got to the root(sprocket) of problem, ??
  16. Yeh, gb do a lopro sprocket i found, what I was saying about earlier, 3/8's lopro takes a larger drive sprocket than regular 3/8. So I cut down a .404 8 pin to make it work for 3/8 lopro. I can look up the measurements later. For the sprocket tip you need to file the sides of the sprocket so they spear into the lopro chassis correctly
  17. I think, if it’s not a 3/8 lopro sprocket, that’s the problem with the chain breaking. 3/8 and 3/8 lopro May look the same but they work/behave differently. From what I’ve gleaned around the web, the lopro is a slightly bigger sprocket, and some where in USA I read that some guys were turning down 404 sprockets to fit the lopro. I’ve also read that using the wrong sprocket is like using a very worn sprocket. I cant remember what threads they were. also I’m guessing you got the right bar with the tip sprocket is 3/8 lopro not a std 3/8 ? If it is wrong then it will sit to high on the tip
  18. Yeh last yr it started, and did nothing this yr prolly due to DED, I’ve been told if I want the wood (trunk) I’ve got to debark it, and the rest will be burnt on site.
  19. I couldn’t agree more, if you have done the paper work correctly, then go ahead, ring bark them. And that will insure your customer gets what they want to pay you for.
  20. I'm gonna be knocking this one over soon ??
  21. Do you remember going to a disco, and everything white glowed in the dark, ? including white bras under thin tops ? i dunno what nm wavelength it is, but there are a few and they all have different uses.?
  22. I bet that tree was cut with a 10” bar, and then the metal dulled the toofs a bit. ?
  23. Wonky

    Tall city tree

Reg, your latest video “treework faq, not for kids” is awesome in every way ? cheers
  24. Looks like 4 saw cuts one tear/ripped branch. and a rear handle saw hanging from a branch. Have you been pass/looked at it again RH,,
