  1. Has it got the correct bar on it? Does the oil hole in the bar line up with the oil channel on the saw. I'm assuming it does, but just in case someone has changed the bar.
  2. Ditto. Totally agree with that suggestion.
  3. Hmm. Well this one same model has a WT-500 on it, https://www.lsengineers.co.uk/carburetor-air-filter-assembly-for-husqvarna-225-h60-hedge-trimmers.html
  4. Not off hand. But out of interest, what's machine is it fitted to?

    Tool thefts

Ok, but how will this stop them being stolen?
  6. Or use a Stihl blade adjuster kit perhaps.
  7. Makita took over Dolmar in 1991, if that's any help to you. http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/company/history/

    Impulse Hose

Not sure you "simplified" it to be honest. It doesn't cause the metering, the metering is a separate thing. It makes the fuel pump work as I already explained. The pump feeds the metering reservoir. Metering is a separate operation altogether. But who am I to speak on such things, I've only been repairing this stuff for 42 years. In future I'll keep my help and advice to myself.

    Impulse Hose

I didn't jump on anyone. And did explain it. ;) The OP asked about the pulse hose. Not the metering system which is separate from the fuel pump. Spud explained it above.

    Impulse Hose

Well, it does, but not via the impulse hose. The impulse hose is for the fuel pump side of the carb.

    Impulse Hose

Impulse hose normally fits directly to the back of the inlet manifold, so it provides a pulse for the fuel pump which is built into the carb. Without this connected it won't run properly, and will probably lean out.
  12. Yes it's a (excuse my French) shit system, especially when you strip something for the first time not realising it's like that. Air can turn blue quite suddenly. Mission accomplished then. Nice one.
  13. Yep, you have to have the rollers in place on the crank before sliding the con rod on, because the con rod holds them in place when in position. I did say it's fiddly.
  14. I wouldn't worry about that part fracturing. This one located pretty well as standard. Just had to fit a new housing to this one, and Stihls little mod kit, the "Strengthening plate" to supposedly stop the housing snapping. Apologies in advance for the image quality.
  15. Yes I would think so, although it's a bit fiddly. I haven't actually touched a Dolmar one, but have done many Stihls this way over the years.
  16. It hasn't collapsed, you just let it slide off and the rollers fell out. You'll need to stick them back on the big end journal with a dob of grease, and carefully (very carefully) slide the con rod back in place. Some of the older Stihls such as the 011 use a crank / big end of the same design. Not the nicest system imo.
  17. Not sure that info is available, I would have to ask. Though as far as I'm aware it the CCTV was only just about good enough to make out what make the car was. They have some front though, I mean grinding the lock off the main gate on the side of the A120, which is a busy road even at 8PM.
  18. Just a heads up. Thieves are doing the rounds again. Grasshopper Marks Tey Colchester got raided again about 8PM last night. As usual only targeting Stihl equipment. CCTV apparently shows two men faces covered, driving a Renault car with registration blanked out. I dare say other dealers will get hit over the next few nights.
  19. Strange. Doesn't make much sense to me, unless they are now making the high speed bevel gears out of some super duper material. You might see the grease recommendation change at some point like they did for the older versions.
  20. Dont think he is the seller just pointing you to a diagram. Correct. Just found the diagram for info purposes.
  21. Instead of a worm as in your other model, this one uses another gear, and spring which engages with the edge of the clutch drum. As seen here, items 14 - 15 https://www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/diagrams/ms880/38d15657-7c57-47dd-b055/
  22. Carb clean and a set of diaphragms. Also check the fuel pipe (in the tank) hasn't turned to putty, because any restriction in the fuel filter will make the pipe collapse.
  23. Just to make sure we are talking about the same model etc, I got that info from a owners manual, here, http://www.echo.ca/getattachment/7e429334-363a-4fec-8f52-f240bb61bf0c/CS-2511T_C70215_012518_e Page 34
