  1. Those shafts are nice to do when they get stuck solid, lol.. Has it got the new type head on it? AC-DC now you're talking, can't beat it.
  2. A blower I can understand, they can do with a bit more power at the best of times.
  3. Not had any problems with coils, not on these saws, probably changed about three in total. loads on their strimmers and combi's though. Had a few 181's where the little e-clip jumps off the choke shaft, so it doesn't operate properly, and loads where the rear handle has had a knock and the linkage has all jumped out of its seating's. Also a few where the top throttle shaft sticks leaving it wide open.
  4. Not for porting, surely?
  5. I was close at least.
  6. Thought these were adjustable. Like Maruyama / Echo etc. Just screws washers and nuts, and a threaded support bar.
  7. breather one way valve is in the bar mount if I remember correctly. If you remove the chain and bar you should see it.
  8. You can change both belts without any dismantling, apart from the underdeck cover, The smaller left hand side part of the underdeck. Then you can roll the belt off as you did with the engine to variator one. What size is it, 41, 48, or 56?
  9. Very rare to have to change a carb on a GX series to be honest. They are normally pretty good. Have had a few cases where someone has bolted the bowl back up without locating it properly, and as they've tightened it the bottom of the bowl gets bent up. Then the top of the bowl doesn't reach the seal properly, and leaks.
  10. Just curious, where's the fuel actually coming out of the carb when it leaks? Has it had water sitting in it, if so check the bowl hasn't got a hole in it. (rust).
  11. Did you remove the throttle body from the carb when you cleaned it. There's a little tiny roller in there to lift the throttle drum up as you accelerate. If this is missing, (they can fall out when you disassemble) or the throttle body is worn in this area it won't lift the drum and needle. Wonder if this is the little metal ring you mentioned, it does sound like it.
  12. I'm assuming the reason is to remove all the metal deposits and corundum from the chain prior to use. The dust from your grind stone and the metal deposits are obviously abrasive, mixed with a drop of chain oil and you have a nice form of grinding paste. Yes you would need to oil soak them after doing this to give them a fighting chance.
  13. You're welcome. I just googled it for you. Noticed some Dolmar branded saws are included in this same recall.
  14. Perhaps this, http://www.makitauk.com/news/details/601.html
  15. Yes, as far as I'm aware those will come under the same laws, and will need a licence. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-licensed-transactions-for-explosives-precursors https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outreach/epp-licence-new-guidance.ofml
  16. Probably, but that's a shame as they're not as reliable as a wet cell lead acid. They also need proper charging to have any sort of life expectancy.
  17. You mean actually do what they should be doing, rather than trying to find ways to make money?
  18. I'm guessing this will effect the machinery dealers / parts suppliers out there, especially if they supply replacement batteries to their customers. https://www.adventurebikerider.com/new-regulations-buying-motorcycle-batteries/ Thoughts?
  19. Apologies in advance. Thunderstruck by Steve'n'Seagulls (LIVE)
  20. Slight typo in my message above. how page = home page Can't really get a screengrab Steve, the home page is massive. You can scroll for ever in both directions. Not a problem for me I use a different browser, just noticed it while testing and thought I'd mention it.
  21. If you're unfortunate enough to still be using IE11 the how page appears to be screwed completely. Rest of forum seems ok.
  22. No. Shouldn't make any difference regarding this. If it has sheared, or partly sheared then it's for some other reason.
  23. Dunno who told you that, but I wouldn't worry about it either. The sound of a metal roller on concrete is horrific though, I'd be more worried about that tbh.
  24. You think that's bad, I don't think I've seen the top of my bench for quite some time. lol..
  25. Looks very much like Husqvarna on the can he's holding here on the Aspen website, https://aspenfuel.co.uk/find-out-more/#the-story Not sure if that's of any relevance.
