  1. Apparently it’s nothing but good character building stuff🤔
  2. With a machine possibly🤔, having cleaned out the stalls in cow kennels I can assure you there’s no way it’s weirdly satisfying or any other type of satisfying? It’s a shit job😳
  3. And last year? There’s an old saying “ where there’s muck there’s money”🤔
  4. I don’t think the electric companies would make this sort of investment if it wasn’t required. What makes you think it’s destined for England? Isn’t there a national grid of power lines. The electric can run both ways along a cable? There were large areas of Scotland without power for several weeks after the gales and actually some English came up and helped to fix them. Didn’t hear any body complain then? Why does everything in Scotland have to be political and anti English or the blame the English for this and that🤔. I’ve just had a look in my meter cabinet and it doesn’t differentiate between English or Scottish or Welsh or even Norwegian and it pains me to say even French😳 as to where the electric was made. If it is made in Scotland then thanks very much, but it’s expensive😳. Perhaps it’s because of the transport costs?
  5. There’s a lot of grinders that don’t have a dead man’s handle. Sorry to here about your accident, hope your on the mend, long, painful process no doubt. It’s easily done in a moment of madness. Plenty of farmers/ contractors injured and killed with PTO stuff that they’re sorting out when really it should of been turned off along with the engine. We all seem to be under pressure to get more done and quicker and that’s when things go wrong. All the best to you mate.
  6. If the couple own a house and leave it to direct descendants- children or grandkids the value is added to the rest giving a total of 1 million as Stubby says. Google Money saving Expert Martin Lewis and he explains it far better than me🤔.
  7. Just went on Martin Lewis’s website to confirm what I said? Google it and it will confirm what I’m trying to say.
  8. Looks like those beavers need to do a felling ticket? Would save you the work then.
  9. Pretty sure if assets include a residence left to direct descendants such as kids and or grandkids the IHT threshold could be £1 mil. Consisting of £325,000 basic inheritance tax allowance and £175,000 residence nil rate band x 2, If husband leaves everything to spouse and spouse dies leaving it all to direct descendants or Vicky verky🤔. As I navigate my way through life’s up and downs I don’t think my kids will have to find any inheritance tax to pay😂
  10. Are you creating a right angle sharp edge? If so the more you sharpen it you create a possible fracture line and break the top of the cutter off? Especially in hard wood. Just my small brain thinking out loud🙄
  11. Tight is nothing new in Scotland 🤔. looks like a well executed, tidy job Mr Blair👍 I see there’s mains hook-up in one photo? Is that Sturgeons motor home parked at her holiday home😂
  12. Like the 99% of reported rapes that do not lead to conviction and not all rapes are reported. It’s a shame the police don’t put as much effort with the investigation in all rapes. Rape victims are not always believed🤔 men and boys get raped as well so that’s rubbish.
  13. Is that the same whip she used when she got up to some Hanky Panky with Corbin 🤔
  14. Cos she’s a dirty thieving toe rag 🤔.
  15. At least your not saying there’s 2 or 3 tonne of wood and open to best offers. You’ve made a good job of cleaning of the ivy🤔
  16. And several thousands of pounds for van repairs or a write off? It’s not just the loss of kit? How much time off work did he loose with all the hassle of reporting, waiting for probably a no-show from plod? Sourcing a replacement van, tools, lost work etc. bastards need throwing in the stocks as a minimum and then some🤔
  17. There’s a couple of chaps on here with mobile log processors, it might be worth you getting them in to process into logs and you’ll double your return🤔
  18. I would send the photographs and location of tree along with your concerns to the head of the local council, parish council and highways department. Ask for a written response from all of them. You could add that if the tree was to fail and God forbid - injure or kill some one you would pass all the details to the HSE and any lawyers that could be involved in any resultant legal case. They have a duty of care to keep the public safe.
  19. As Mark says, your either wet “from rain or sweat” if your doing manual tree work? Buy some fancy expensive jackets and trousers if you like but prepare to have it scagged the first time you start throwing some narley barked oak about or scrambling through a big black thorn to get to the base of a tree. I go cheap and many? Carry a couple of spares to change at break time along with a fresh tea shirt or other top underneath, and a towel to dry off and away to go - again😳. And when really soaked and moral is really low - into spare dry kit for the trip home. Did a tree job recently on a small development site where we were soaked by 0930? About 11 we went into the site hut for a bite to eat and a tea. The youngest of us (25) was like a drowned rat, the other two of us had spare kit and proceeded to dry off and put some dry kit on. The younguns bottom lip nearly hit the floor. Gave him a tenner to pop to Tescos garage to get some coffee’s, otherwise I thought he was going to throw the towel in(which he didn’t have!) I’ve been telling him for years to bring spare kit - he does now? He’s also stopped gobbing off about working with a couple of geriatrics!
  20. I’ve found that my chainsaws are much more willing to work in the rain than I am😳
  21. Bought a smart phone outright several years ago and then a sim only vodaphone package for £12 a month years ago and I’m already quids in🤔. Recently got rid of BT land line and Broadband and taken out a Vodaphone landline, broadband and mobile phone sim only package for Mrs and me for £47 a month. A lot cheaper than BT and separate mob phone packages. Broadband no worse that BTs which was rubbish. Have never had Sky because I probably watch too much crap on telly as it is without scrolling more channels. Only downside was when England rugby went to satellite for home games.
  22. Reading through this, are you sure? “there will be some kind of plan in place”? Cos I’m not so sure. Not convinced that falling it all downhill towards the extraction point is ideal if your going to winch it out. Sounds like a cluster🤔.
  23. I wouldn’t bother. Summer is definitely coming, it’s on the calendar 🤔.
