  1. Great for riding the log raft down the Thames🤔
  2. Most of that stuff as a serial no of sorts?
  3. Have any suppliers reported any thefts? There’s always thieving at these shows and I would of thought they’re all market place, eBay etc
  4. 6-7 inch chestnut could cost around £12 - £20 each? What about peeled softwood fencing postsbefore its treated(children involved?) and they’ll be regular size for stacked? Just get some treated ones for the bottom layer. Presume your going to build it Davy Crockett style?
  5. Far more stump grinders available now than 20 years ago. It used to be mainly large, wheeled ungainly things, know lots of cheapish pedestrian ones available and the intro of small tracked grinders as opened up the market. It’s been said they’re freely available to hire where you just stick the hire rate on top of the price - no need to have one yourself to pay off and maintain. If it’s offered as an option for every tree job it’s not long before the grinders paid for. No disrespect but it’s not exactly difficult if your practical with common sense AND done the 1 days training?
  6. The exhaust pipes are 2” diameter and I’ve got inserts similar to the old VW beetle exhausts inserted to quieten it down a bit?
  7. It’s a 1967 TT Bonneville, as far as I’m aware all were exported to US for dirt track racing on the ovals. No lights, just rev counter, 11:1 comp ratio and yes-no silencers. Not too loud if if you keep the throttle backed off. Not as bad as a ported 500i🤔
  8. Had the Triumph out Sunday for the first time this year. Had to get some of the kit out the shed first because she’s buried behind it🤔
  9. Tried to pre buy tickets to this show but having no luck! Have to have an account with Forestry England but just getting the run around? I’m no Bill Gates but have been able to book tickets for other shows, flight tickets etc? Have given up on this one😫. Have had a look to find out how much it is on the day but not very obvious(£12 pre booked) rubbish web site!
  10. Glad you explained what an Ent was? I thought you’d spelt it wrong😂
  11. There is of course various types of asbestos, roofing sheets generally being considered the least Dangerous, it expensive to handle- especially if council is involved?
  12. It’s more than likely asbestos. The repair is down to what the council wants. When you inform them about the damage stand by for the ground sinking all around you😳. Barriers, reports, hazmat suits, asbestos outfit turning up with mobile decontamination unit, temporary poly sheeting, complete roof removal and re-sheet? That’s the worst that can happen, and don’t think the council will pay for it🤔
  13. I use these and find it takes the rakers down too much. I take the flat file out and put it back in every couple of files. That shouldn’t be the case with you though if it’s not cutting.

    Bit rough

They heard a bunch of tree guys were in the area and didn’t want the sweepings put in their bin again🤔
  15. Apparently it’s nothing but good character building stuff🤔
  16. With a machine possibly🤔, having cleaned out the stalls in cow kennels I can assure you there’s no way it’s weirdly satisfying or any other type of satisfying? It’s a shit job😳
  17. And last year? There’s an old saying “ where there’s muck there’s money”🤔
  18. I don’t think the electric companies would make this sort of investment if it wasn’t required. What makes you think it’s destined for England? Isn’t there a national grid of power lines. The electric can run both ways along a cable? There were large areas of Scotland without power for several weeks after the gales and actually some English came up and helped to fix them. Didn’t hear any body complain then? Why does everything in Scotland have to be political and anti English or the blame the English for this and that🤔. I’ve just had a look in my meter cabinet and it doesn’t differentiate between English or Scottish or Welsh or even Norwegian and it pains me to say even French😳 as to where the electric was made. If it is made in Scotland then thanks very much, but it’s expensive😳. Perhaps it’s because of the transport costs?
  19. There’s a lot of grinders that don’t have a dead man’s handle. Sorry to here about your accident, hope your on the mend, long, painful process no doubt. It’s easily done in a moment of madness. Plenty of farmers/ contractors injured and killed with PTO stuff that they’re sorting out when really it should of been turned off along with the engine. We all seem to be under pressure to get more done and quicker and that’s when things go wrong. All the best to you mate.
  20. If the couple own a house and leave it to direct descendants- children or grandkids the value is added to the rest giving a total of 1 million as Stubby says. Google Money saving Expert Martin Lewis and he explains it far better than me🤔.
  21. Just went on Martin Lewis’s website to confirm what I said? Google it and it will confirm what I’m trying to say.
  22. Looks like those beavers need to do a felling ticket? Would save you the work then.
  23. Pretty sure if assets include a residence left to direct descendants such as kids and or grandkids the IHT threshold could be £1 mil. Consisting of £325,000 basic inheritance tax allowance and £175,000 residence nil rate band x 2, If husband leaves everything to spouse and spouse dies leaving it all to direct descendants or Vicky verky🤔. As I navigate my way through life’s up and downs I don’t think my kids will have to find any inheritance tax to pay😂
