  1. Beautiful timber Mark, But you've been milling long enough to know there's always a nail somewhere [emoji848][emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  2. Thanks Reg, for taking time to explain your decision. [emoji106]
  3. Is this the same CCP who has interned and re educating a million plus Muslims in cultural learning centres? They are obviously not concentration camps... Scariest bunch since the CIA and the nazis. [emoji51]
  4. My msa200 is great at cross cutting but it can't noodle hardwoods without jamming the bar. Lacks real torque. You've put 3/8 on? I'd like to see a video of that. [emoji106]
  5. More saw types, more chain types. I sold off my collection years ago. Got 6 saws now. Polesaw (can't remember) Msa200 1/4 1.1 (for workshop) 261 .325 1.6 461 and 661 3/8 1.6 880 .404 1.6 Basically 3 chain reels .325,3/8,.404 I buy loops for the msa and polesaw. Ironically I'm now finding the time it takes to count drive links, break and rivet a chain is detracting from other work. Almost cheaper to get them done by my local dealer. [emoji848][emoji106] Except occasionally for when a reel pops up on eBay cheap. [emoji106]
  6. I have. There aren't any. All petrol. Most diesel chippers are at least 22hp or more.
  7. Fantastic artwork. Real skill there mate. [emoji7][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  8. That's scary just on a screen Reg [emoji106] Maybe I'm missing something, But why did it have to be climbed? Could it not have been felled? Or winched over? Genuine question. [emoji106]
  9. In a word , no. Husky and stihl will not be compatible. I know you can run all stihl pro saws on 3/8 1.6 Which have the 3003 mount. That's the 260/261 up to and including the 661. But honestly it's not worth putting 3/8 on less than 60-70cc. Too draggy. I run .325 on my 261 and 3/8 on the 461 and 661. And then there's bloody polesaw chains, electric chainsaw chains and other fiddly buggers. I now have a wall of chains. [emoji848][emoji106]
  10. Is it down and on bearers? Or a vertical stump? Best offer £50-£100 Because that's probably what it's worth. I regularly get told.... "Oh if you hadn't milled up that log, I would have had to pay £500+ to get it removed." [emoji6][emoji106]
  11. No. Because that was for a video. It was showing off. No one would ever spend ages setting up a 12" tree.
  12. I used to drool over 090's, But then I tried an 090 and 070. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] So heavy, sooooo slow. Waste if time compared to an 880. Unless you go the 160+cc Piped exhaust route. [emoji106]
  13. That's the one [emoji106]
  14. Spear cutting is definately an experienced users cut only. Been doing it for years with really small stuff. Worked with a couple of old Skool guys who used it occasionally. Seen one guy drop a huge hung up Lombardy pefectly on a drive way. I use it very sparingly now. (After the crown of a birch got thrown back at me by tension in the upper canopy). [emoji106]
  15. Looks like a toy van. [emoji106]
  16. Having a look yesterday at some specs, I came across a chart for depth gauge setting. 090G - 1.2mm [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] And that'll be with a 6' bar [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  17. Even though I do grimace at some prices, there's still good money to be made even with the expensive stuff. The massive price drop of small mills in the last twenty years has helped. [emoji106]
  18. Stihl actually used to make a 3phase chainsaw. Saw one on eBay years ago. Little tiny Saw, had a huge bar on it. And it was blue. [emoji106]
  19. Occasionally I forget to fill my combi cans with motomix/aspen and get a gallon of pump stuff. Like I've said before, A few nostalgic moments as the petrol 2stroke exhaust fires up. Followed by 8+ hours of nauseating, poisonous crap. And a night of smelling exhaust gasses. (From my chest). Can't wait for an electric 880. [emoji6][emoji106]
  20. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Love it. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  21. Good one Les. [emoji106] I've not used a lumag, Thought they were a generic Chinese brand, I could be wrong. Got quite a small cut too. I have used the woodlands 130 and fir the price it's very effective. It will need "tuning" though. Also consider the logosol b751 entry level bandsaw, as Logosol have very high manufacturing and material spec. [emoji106]
  22. I've been out to mill beech trees before and the tree looked solid. Once you do the gob cut often you see Rot or hollow. I've dropped 5'+ hollow beech and it's hit the deck in one piece. Also seen solid beech 3'-4' dbh hit the deck and split the whole trunk. [emoji106]
  23. I think that once you cut that euc up into handles, it will bend like a banana as it dried. That tree is 100% firewood. The uneven tension and crompression will make it unusable except for file handles.
