  4. Kiss goodbye to sleep, a social life, sex life, clothes which don't smell of baby sick, and the general recklessness of youth. What you've got now is far more amazing!!! Fatherhood is literally the best thing to ever happen in my life. [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  5. We've been discussing different fungi strains for spalting beech and syc. Thought about rubbing mud and fungus into the fresh end grains. Anyone tried this?
  6. Look carefully at the third photo. There are 3 different types of fungi, One type in the centre 12" Another in a band around it, And a third nearer the outer edge. I'll get some close ups later [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

  11. No it was a guy called Ed, with a big Saw. [emoji6] Got the rest of the tree in the yard, I'll ask Ed about meripilus. [emoji106]
  12. I cut mine up into 8-10" rings got a lad who picks it up for £35 a cube. He's happy because he just splits it into icb's and stacks em. I'm happy cos I don't have space/time/effort. [emoji106]
  13. I've done tree work and milling for a few over here. All just normal folk. [emoji106]
  14. Nope. Syn gas is not given off during drying. Has to reach temperatures of several hundred centrigrade to gasify. How hot is your drier?
  15. Milled a large beech for a mate today. Absolutely drenched. The 880 and the panther mill really do the job well. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  16. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

  19. I'm an armchair fan of the resurge of interest in wood gasifiers. I'd love to run a tiny power station 20-30kw 3ph Can be done quite easily with enough time. [emoji106]
  20. What's that Andy?
  21. I am actually a big gasifier fan[emoji106]
  22. Simple? A wood gasifier with screw fed wood chip is big. Really big, like a shipping container. Then you still need a CHP? And a drying floor???? Simple is a woodburner mate.
  23. Simple? My kind of skill level. Please explain, sounds interesting. [emoji106]
  24. It's a sales opportunity, 20% discount on tree work for members of the emergency services. Hand them a business card, ask about their tree problems. Do they do any woodwork? Got some lovely oak...... [emoji12][emoji106]
