  1. That’s what I had as well. Cut me down one side of my spine to trim L4 and came around the back of my spine to get L5. Still waiting on Neck surgery for the same issue from when I had a 7kg lump of metal fall on my hardhat from 3m. Covids stopped that from happening though. Thankfully I’ve got good private insurance through my work so I’ll get it sorted as soon as this nonsense is over.
  2. Back braces are bad for you long term as you rely on them instead of your own muscles and you weaken them. Stretching to the point you’re crying out in pain (under professional guidance) and thinking this is in no way good for me helps a lot. Deep tissue massages where you’re also crying out in pain. Chiropractor in conjunction with the deep tissue massages. I’ve had two different surgeries on my lower back though. Still have bad tingling in each of my feet and if I stop being active (like the last 10 days I’ve been in quarantine) I’m back to shuffling around like an old man. So it’s back to stretching in the shower for me and lots of walking and physical activity. When I get home I’ll be heading to my chiropractor for an MOT.
  3. Neither does a percentage of the US population it seems.
  4. How do you mistake direct instructions to comply with the Police with try to outrun the police then physically struggle and try to get away from them? I guess these will just be some of life’s little mysteries.
  5. Tongs have a more naturel position for your arm and hand. But I do use my Hookeroon more to be fair, mostly because it gives me that extra reach and its easier for swinging bigger rounds up onto the Splitter. I'll have about 20t of processor grade larch coming in soon. I think the Tongs will be getting used more for that kinda dimensions. Considering buying a Processor if I could justify it.
  6. 100%! After two lower back surgeries it’s all about ergonomics for me now. Tongs are great for sub-12” logs (my tongs anyway) and the Hookeroon for anything bigger. The Hookeroon doubles up as an arm extender too. 😁 This reduces any unnecessary stretching and twisting. The last time I was out I cut up some oak logs and split them to 3-4” rattled out enough to fill 4 x 1.25m3 vented bags. Never filled the bags right enough, that’s the missus job. 🤣
  7. My splitter came with a log lift. Was the first thing to come off. 🤣
  8. I only do that if I’m dealing with rounds that can’t easily be lifted up when splitting in the horizontal. Vertical is slooooooow. A 4/6 way head, a Hookeroon and a set of lifting tongs will transform your splitting day and produce far more bags of logs. (From my own experience anyway)
  9. Sounds like you’ve got yourself a tool shopping list. [emoji16]
  10. It might not be though. A trick to try is seeing if a Torx head fits. It should give you enough purchase till you get some imperial keys.
  11. Imperial? 5/32" maybe? Could be 3/16" but if its big for 5mm Id say 5/32".
  12. Would he make one for the 084 in the future?
  13. 1/10th? Those are rookie numbers! You gotta pump those numbers up.
  14. Corbyn as well. Easiest way to spoil a vote. 🤣
  15. Yeh, always the case. Some Oak I milled last time home. Similar colouring.
  16. I’d have thought that being Starmers man you’d be used to it by now....
  17. In one of the vids the guy demonstrated the dryness of sub 18% and over 25% (I believe) all from blowing bubbles, not sure how accurate that but if its correct to any degree is seems far quicker than setting up a wee camp fire whenever you wanna check it out.
  18. Cracking logs them! Almost Oak in colour.
  19. I think the operation will be different. But here’s a couple of pics. Maybe it will help? I was initially sent a silent video of how to disable the two handed operation from the lads at Rock, but they clearly never tested it as it would never work. Only extended the ram. So I had to rebuild it. In the end it was simply a case of removing the bolt in the picture to allow the handle full travel. The only down side is I have to keep the second long handle in place for it to operate. But it’s on the other side of the splitter so does not really get in the way.
  20. What model or Rock Splitter do you have? I converted my Venom 22t ES easily, but it’s a different mechanism than the standard Venom. The thing is the Spool is designed for single handed operation and converted to two handed. So it’s really a case of reverse engineering what’s been put in place.
  21. Maybe a 50cc Saw doubles the youtube revenue?
  22. Try Birch.
  23. Seems a shame to split it all for firewood. If there is any good diameter stuff its worth considering having some of it milled into slabs. Ash is quite a beautiful timber, much under rated I think.
  24. Got a couple somewhere. I added them to my collection of land on the Moon, about as likely I own either. 🤣
