  1. Can make some good 2x4" outta that I guess? Get some stickers too.
  2. Heard it all now. 🤣 Id sooner believe reports like this than stories told down the pub.... Supermarket petrol quality: what you need to know – Which? News WWW.WHICH.CO.UK Should you be concerned about supermarket petrol quality? Find out what you need to know about supermarket petrol...
  3. Mmmmmmmmm not made one of them in ages! I have a mini blow-torch just for that reason too!
  4. You can buy one at any hardware store for about a tenner. Worth a shot and certainly no need to pay someone to come in and do the same job at 10 times the price. Plus you'll have a handy blow torch kicking around. BUTANE GAS BLOW TORCH with GAS CARTRIDGES welding BBQ soldering brazing burner WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Butane gas blow torch which is suitable for a whole host of jobs including Supplied with butane gas cannisters in 2 - 4 or...
  5. Hmmmmmm. Try heating the liner first, see if that helps.
  6. What are you using to light the fire? If the flue liner is stone cold the air will be dense and heavy and not want to rise. One trick to try is fire-up a blow torch and heat the liner somewhat before lighting the stove. See if that makes a difference.
  7. What is the binder? Have you tried real seasoned logs to see if that eliminates it?
  8. Yes, different additives. Same fuel. Additives that will not make a blind bit off difference to a chainsaw. There is nothing in supermarket fuels that will harm any engine out there let alone a chainsaw. Supposedly better detergents in branded fuel, help with emissions and stop you failing the MOT. Never had an issue with this either. Ive done the MPG thing with both Supermarket and Branded diesel as well. The only time I seen a noticeable difference was with Shell Plus and BP Optimax. But then you’re paying that much more for it. Reading on-line this seems to be the general consensus as well. I’m not so forgiving with my right foot though. I’m getting 22mpg outta my Jeep whilst the missus gets close to 28. 🤣
  9. 7 days a week for a man who supposedly has a great Fireman pension and a millionaire family and oh, yeh, a massive trust fund and lets not forget the £5000 you spent on a course to learn how to trade in stocks and shares and here you are knocking your pan in every single day doing menial tasks. You are so full of it.
  10. Where do they do this final mix? At the same refineries? Potentially this mix 'could' affect a modern large engine, cleanliness, fuel efficiency and octane boosters should you feel the need for that. Nothing I can see that running a chainsaw really needs or will affect it. The octane level in our regular pump fuel is higher than what they have in the US for a start. Ive ran every single car Ive owned on whatever Pump is closest to me. Generally thats Tesco and the last few new or nearly new cars Ive had has not been affected at all. If Supermarkets had a higher Ethanol content than the likes of BP and Shell then Id avoid them, but they dont as its all the same fuel.
  11. I’m always interested to see where the Supermarkets produce their fuels. Must be some secret underground lab? It can’t possibly be the same refineries the likes of Grangemouth that receives oil from the Forties Pipeline that carries over half a million barrels a day in from the U.K. and Norwegian sector’s? [emoji16]
  12. And why does he need multiple Festool Jigsaws to trim branches off of trees? One in each hand?
  13. Ive got one of them in the back of the shed somewhere. Never fired it up. Must dig it out sometime.
  14. I work directly with the customer on multi-million dollar contracts if that counts? Supposedly they like my upfront honesty.
  15. Dislexia does not stop you putting a full stop at the end of each sentence. I am also Dislexic. But no, I actually have no idea what you're trying to say and I read it three times. Are you asking about the brand of the Stove or something to do with the Flue? Anyway, I'll assume its at least 10kw and will be way to big for the 6x3m room its going in considering the insulation in there.
  16. That was quite hard reading without a single punctuation mark.
  17. I can ask if he'll take a video next time he starts it up. Might not be for a while. He's stacking up all his oak for me to Mill either with the Bandsaw or the Panther Im waiting on. He might even sell it as he's making far more money having me mill for him than he could wasting his days milling himself. Works for me as my employer is already paying me £300 a day to sit at home so everything on top is just free cream. That log is maxing out at 24"
  18. That will be him caught running with his Pikey Mates. 😮
  19. This is where Im at as well.
  20. Kiln Dried and needlessly shipped in Containers to the UK?
  21. I burn softwood and hardwood almost equally. More softwood in the Range in the Kitchen and Hard in the living room.
  22. Got a framing square and inherited my Grandfathers tool chest he built as an apprentice Shipwright and it has a nice selection of chisels up to 2" and Ive bought my own as well. I am missing a slick though and will be buying one soon. Ive a couple of Timber Framing books Ive studied and the usual youtube video watching so really looking forward to making a start. Ive went with 1" Pegs for 8" framing as its the size in the books Ive got seemed to be the size recommended on a few US based forums as well. But I can see how 3/4" would be adequate. Ive got the tools and dowels for 1" now so will go with that, but will need the 3/4" anyway for the 6" Bracing.
  23. Gold. When I was 18 or 21 (cant remember now) I was given a small figure from my Grandfather. It was the accumulation of the original £500 he put into an account when I was born in 1979. Had he bought gold it would have been worth £5000 now which is significantly more than what I did (gratefully) receive. Its what I put aside for the kids. Not much but some Gold Doubloons is far more pleasurable to look at and hold than a bank statement.
