The op has started three threads on this very tree. In this thread and another posted in the Milling forum he has asked for the Stump to be ground out. He asked for prices, he dismissed the prices out of hand as 'its too much'. You really do need to keep up and perhaps read the full saga before going all White Knight.

I’ve found my chickens really don’t care about having sawdust as bedding. They only lay their eggs in it after all. They sleep on perches so a layer of sawdust underneath catches all the droppings. The ducks do prefer straw though.

My mate in London says £2k as well. You’ll really need to get three local quotes. You’re gonna hear all about it now calling it a one day job. 🤣 Why don’t you just do it yourself?

£150 a ton! Im gonna buy Spruce at £35 a ton delivered and keep passing it through the mill till its all sawdust.

I really like my B751 and as its the only Bandsaw Ive used its all I can really comment on. Ive found it very well built, second to none back-up from Logosol and some clever engeneering features you might not see on other entry level bandsaws. Ive put it through some abuse these last two years of ownership and only now does it need some bearings replaced in the carriage. The Band Cover had a weld that started to crack and a full replacement was sent direct from Sweden, no questions asked. Oh,one Band Guide bearing went after one year, I was sent two whole units, ones still in its box. Ive had some big logs on the Mill. The Biggest was an Oak just under 32" diameter and just over 4m long. Needed trimming down with a chainsaw to get the Carriage to pass. Can cut 24" Wide Slabs. Ive not had to adjust anything in almost the whole ownership. I had some teething problems with a wavey cut but it turns out it was the Bacho Bands and when I switched over to Rippers problem solved. If you buy a Logosol pay the bit extra and get the B751 Pro, there is just so much more extras available than for the standard B751, but they can be modified to work. Turning a 4m x 32" Oak on your own is near impossible, but the Pro has a clever Log turner that doubles up as a winch to get the logs up the ramp. Very useful. I bought one and modified it to fit my B751. The Pro also has the option of roller log rests. Its amazing what you'll try and get on your mill so getting the biggest capacity might be the way forward though? I think if the 130max was available when I bought the B751 Id most likely have gone for that, but Im glad it was not as I love my Logosol and its build quality. If I ever upgrade I can see me getting the B1001. Oh, and hang onto your Alaskan. [emoji3] I made the mistake of getting rid of mine as I spend all my time on the Bandsaw but its a very handy tool to keep around. I just bought a 60" Panther set up from RobD. [emoji3]

Nice edit, and no sawdust can be chippings from a chainsaw or more fine like you get from a Bandsaw. Both are commonly referred to as sawdust. Stop trying to be smart Leslie, it really does not suit you.

Not really. Wood shavings are often preferred to sawdust for pet bedding because the very fine particles in sawdust can cause respiratory problems for all animals

I think it needs to be dry. So could be a problem I guess? Might be better running the stove on planer shavings? Like I say, i just burn it just now.

Burn it in a big pile with lashings of Red Diesel. I'll build a Sawdust Stove when I build myself a workshop, but that will only account for a fraction of whats produced. If Im milling Oak or Cherry then I keep a bagful back for the Smoker. I throw a wheelbarrow full in with the Chickens now and again.

Yeh, its a good option on a rot resistant wood like Larch. But a 2X8" bit of Untreated Spruce? Its not gonna make a blind bit of difference. 5 minutes with a Burner on a Scaff board thats made outta the shittiest white wood is not gonna magicly gonna give you 5 years of service. Knock yourself out. Or Just bite the bullet and get some real sleepers in there if its a long term bed.
