  1. The Op has 6 IBC's. If he follows your plan ()same as everyone's plan really) and cuts the Liners in half he will have twice as much 'Roofs' than he needs. So there will be 50% of the Liner material needing thrown away. Unless of course you move the Goal Posts and say he could double the 'Roof's up. I think you know this now hence the Goal Post moving.
  2. I think you’re trolling me now? Surely? Unless Scottish Cleaning Services has hacked your account? 😁
  3. But only half the cheese. The other hand will make one roof. [emoji57]
  4. Exactly. This is exactly what we do get. Now you yourself have just stated that you'll have two 'roofs' . Two roofs from each IBC Plastic Liner. So two 'Roofs' from one liner, and how many 'Roofs' does one IBC need? Think about it. I think outta respect for you the others are just pretending you've not been repeatedly forcing this line of reasoning.
  5. Think about what you’ve just wrote. 🧐
  6. Is it illegal to take cash as payment? Surely if you make it clear you are including the vat when paid in reddies whats the big deal? Or are they explicitly asking for a cash price on the job? Dont ask you dont get as far as Im concerned. Cash is king after all.
  7. Love it. Would be good to see that in action. Where did you buy it from?
  8. Each to their own. As I said, Id happily pop over if I was local and the log was sound. Regardless of the value being low til its dried you still have to put the same work in either at your yard or this customers, the only difference would be you'd get the log for free. Yes, if the log is gonna move if thats what it wants to do. But it seems like you're trying to say thats not gonna happen if you paid for the log and it was milled in your yard.
  9. Or perhaps the Tree Surgeon in question thinks a bit of a shame to ring the tree up and thought he'd offer it up to someone local? Saves him Ringing it up and hauling it away if a Miller will do that for him. And the Customer is happy as they'll have a couple of Slabs that will sit in the Shed, warp, check, get Honeycomb then eventually get dumped at the recycling.
  10. Have you by any chance recently moved from Scotland?
  11. No actually! Its not in the Manual I have. That could save me a whole load more faffing around. Cheers.
  12. Is there an echo in here? Anyway if you buy 6 IBC's and cut the roof of three in half you have 6 covers. You still have three left to dispose of.
  13. If it does not look rotten when felled I would (and do) I really do not see why so many see this as an issue? If I bought the log (or even got it for free) I'd have to either collect it or pay to have it collected and then still spend the day milling it. If the access is good then just turn up. Slab it up, leave the customer a couple of slabs outta the branches and leave the mess at your arse and bugger off with a load of Oak. Jobs a good 'un.
  14. Yeh, bought second hand and a older version. Perhaps the Cam grind has changed since then? I’ve kept the angle Ripper set theirs at. (Is it 10 degrees? I can’t remember off-hand) The manual does not cover this, the profiling of the disc is how they deal with the next tooth. I know the guy who supplied the Ripper Cam template designed it to fully follow the gullet of the Ripper blades. The a woodlands video will be using the compatible Blade for the Cam to get a full gullet grind. I’ll try one one time with the metal putty and I think it will get it, if not then I’ll get the Diamond Disc and it won’t be an issue. It’s close to £150 delivered though.
  15. I’m not sure how to embed vids here? But with the template I bought you can see that from the original Cam how much meat needed removed and also where it was needed. Where it was needed I found the template did not have near enough of a hump to ramp the grinder up quick enough. I powered the grinder on and off and isolated the ‘ramp’ area that needed more of a hump then added metal putty to this area. Let it cook off then marked around the template and used that as a guide for how much extra meat to leave on. I never finished as I had to go off shore, but I’m getting there. If ramping up quickly does not do it then I’ll just bite the bullet and get a much thinner Diamond Disc from Logosol for the Grindlux. It’s the thickness of the disc that’s causing me this issue and no matter how I profile the disc I can’t alleviate it. Might have figured out the vid thing. As you can see in the vid I’m not taking anything off the gullet but the sweep is spot on, it’s just the next tooth that’s getting hammered. Once that’s sorted I just need to adjust the stop down slightly and the whole gullets getting a slither removed.
  16. That is surprising. I was sure I was told the Rippers in .042" thick stock where a total of 1/8". Its what my Mill is set up for as well, hmmmmmmm.
  17. ok cool. Would be very interested to see how you've been avoiding removing the top of the next tooth with the standard grinding stone. Perhaps the cam has been changed in the last few years? Do you get a nice gullet cut with the Cam on the Ripper Bands?
  18. Guess so? So you’re not hitting the top of the next tooth with the profiled stone? Are you using the Diamond Blade?
  19. Add one. Just pop down to your local electrical store and grab a bunch? How did you manage to burn out two fuses already?
  20. Id be interested to see your sharpener in action. Did you find the cam takes out a perfect gullet cut right outta the box? stright down for the tooth then follows the ripper gullet profile around then managed to raise up fast enough to miss the tip of the next tooth? Did you specify a Ripper Cam?
  21. I use .042" Blades. The Kerf is near as damn it 3mm or 1/8". Which is handy since my Mill operates on a 1/8" click system. You have the option of .042 or .043" blades. So virtually no difference. Obviously .042*3 = .126" or 3.2mm so my blades are set a fraction under this and Im happy with that. Another think to keep in mind is the Cam on your shiney new Grindlux 4000 is not designed for the Ripper 37 Blades. No matter how much you profile the grinding stone you're grind off a lot of metal off of the top of each tooth. I bought a Ripper 37 Cam template for it but its still taking off a bit of the tooth, so Im currently in the middle of reprofiling the new Cam Plate with metal putty and having a bit of trial and error til Im happy that Im taking out the whole gullet and also raising quick and high enough to miss the top of the teeth.
