  1. Then after a few hour hiatus playing with the kids I ruined another oak for the Frame. 😁 Nice bit of “brown oak” I guess? Will be a new front porch. The short 2m log needed a helping hand onto the mill. So needed to mill an 8”x4” beam that can slide up and down the log deck to suit.
  2. Had some Ash on today. The plan is to make a dining room table out of this. Have a bigger butt I’ll mill with the Oanther.
  3. I’d stack it at the bottom bow side up like in the pic and weigh it as much as you can. Only time will tell if it’s firewood but it’s gotta be worth the chance if you have the space for it. if it’s firewood I’ll have another Birdbox in ultra small please. I’ll have worn out my first by then.
  4. Me neither, that’s what I asked if he ate them and if they where in fact edible I’d give them a go. Although they may well live up to 100 years does not mean that they all are anywhere near that age. You could just toss the biggest ones if it was an issue. And keep in mind other freshwater crustaceans get eaten here in the U.K. and the US in abundance. I think I’ll just carry on and worry about the heavy metals later in life. [emoji849]
  5. I don’t know to be honest? I eat mussels from the sea but I don’t know how old they are, they eat the same kinda stuff. Oysters live for 20 years and we eat them. I’ve had Conch in both Key West and Tonga and they live for 40 years. So I don’t see longevity and what they eat being an issue. So in hindsight yes, if they where edible I’d eat them.
  6. Almost a shame to turn this one into 6” beams. [emoji1]
  7. Figured out why that page was missing from my manual. My older version does not have the slider. I guess I could drill another position for the rod.
  8. Looks like the sun brought out the milling for a few of us.
  9. That’s noting more than false equivalence.
  10. Geeez, how did I get roped into this one. 🤣 Actually I just got back from Norway on Wednesday and after a few beers I told the missus to get ready for 8” of fun. She asked if that was in two or three instalments [emoji24]
  11. Although I’m yet to mill with two Powerheads my understanding is you can use two different sized Saws. Once the Mills buried in the log you’ll not reach the slower Saws max Rev limit. Just don’t Rev the tits off of them off the log. 🤣
  12. I like the stipulation of taking a centre slab as well as payment. I’m gonna add that from now.
  13. Having read almost all of Retired Climbers posts there is very little I disagree with. So you’re just gonna have to wait a little longer. 🤣
  14. Not to mention you're almost pulling a pension.
  15. You should try it, its quite liberating. Im heading back in 3 weeks, I could hold your hand (as it where)
  16. You definitely have the Mr Bean touch about you. Everything you do seems to be a slow comical disaster. [emoji24]
  17. Steve gave him the heave-ho. Back as Welsh Cleaning Services though. 🤣 Not the sharpest tool in the chest.
  18. I’ve a battery DeWalt and a new pair of welly boots. I’ll have the mortgage paid off by the Autumn.
  19. Anyone on here win this? I had a cheeky bid but was outbid at the end.
  20. Me and my Window Cleaning Buddy are doing great. First 100t of Larch delivered at £35t. 4.7m lengths as I’ll be milling them. Im just waiting on my new Jigsaw so I can make a start.
  21. Geeez. I can still get it all for £35 a ton. I need to find the reddies then.
  22. Interested in what Norway Spruce is at roadside these days. Got first refusal on a about 700-1000t.
