  1. Worst ways to spend the last of Spring. Caught a 4kg Cod two days ago. The hotel cooked me up 3 fillets.
  2. He might be in Scotland though.
  3. Think I’ll try that as well.
  4. Nice bit if oak there.
  5. I’ve never really considered Scotland to be windy? On the coast perhaps. In a managed forest I’d have thought only the trees on the edges would be affected badly by the wind. Would the trees further in not be ok?
  6. Junk anyway. [emoji16]
  7. So you’re excluding the highlands from your U.K. wide report? 🤣
  8. So the Highland grown Softwood is ok then?
  9. Yeh, I knew you could not put your money where your mouth is. All talk....
  10. Shall we run a wee wager on what country in the UK it will arrive in?
  11. Another thumbs up for the Grandberg. Cracking wee sharpener that also takes down the Rakers to a set height and does so very accurately. As it’s 12v you can take it with you when working away from the workshop.
  12. It’s coming direct from Sweden. Why would they send it to Wales first? Makes no sense.
  13. Comes through Wales?
  14. Cheers Les. Looking forward to having a play. Just gotta wait 5-7 weeks to get it. If I build it in Spruce I’ll have the pick of some good logs at a great price. Already got the estate I get logs from very interested in having a Log Home built on their land. So could be a nice wee earner, even if I’m just supplying the logs.
  15. Because it’s not a complicated machine? The Scottish Logosol Dealer has not even sold one let alone got one in for a demo. Even if they did I could not be arsed driving up to Inverness to see one in action. I’ll just have a play when it arrives. Logosols instruction manuals are well written and their support is second to none.
  16. I ended up getting the D-Profile knives that have a double tongue and Grove. Over £1100 just for them! Video-wise there is very little on-line. Even Logosols own vids are quite limited. So yeh, I’ll happily make one myself. I wonder if I could get away with doing the cabin in Norway Spruce? One of the additional benefits is it can be used as a planer up to 24” wide. That will more likely get used than the Log Moulding long term.
  17. That was the joke....... Wooosh, over your head it went.
  18. He’s a sheep Sh@gger alright, just the Welsh kind.
  19. Each to their own. I’d sooner carry one tool that would do both and just change out the nails.
  20. You have no idea what I have in my shed and workshop Leslie. Feather boarding, yeh, might be ok for that. And when the op wants to put up something more substantial? I sold the Paslodes, outdated these days.
  21. I’ve always used 1.5” rails. 50mm nails would not be enough penetration for me. My father-in-law is 70 this year and uses the DeWalt all day long. So unless you’ve a medical condition then a little more weight is a good trade off for a lot more power and freedom. I imagine the Op will want a tool that allows him to do light and more heavy duty fencing. If he only wants one tool then a battery Nailer is a no brainier.
  22. The Electric Nailers are not that heavy. Maybe they are aimed at men and not little boys? I’d sooner have a little more weight than have to hump around a compressor all day long and fight with an airline. That toytown tool in the link only drives nails upto 50mm as well. Hardly any use for fencing. Skirting boards maybe. 🤷‍♂️ Each to their own of course.
  23. The DeWalt First fix is a belter of a Battery Nail Gun. Upto 90mm nails and I’ve yet to have it jam. Would not go back to gas.
  24. Just pulled the trigger on a Logosol Log House Moulder to run on the B751 rails. We’re gonna build a Cabin out the back of the house and with the price of 70mm D profile logs at £18/m it will pay for itself after the first 12m long wall. I’ll be doing them in 6”. Anyone used one before?
  25. This is why the “religion of Peace” will remain in the dark ages. Imagine biting the hand that feeds you? What level of IQ do these morons have?
