  1. Nah, we’re all good. It might seem bitchy but it’s just messing about. We chat quite happily via PM.
  2. Now that’s a handy wee toy! How much did that set you back?
  3. We could do with the same kind of backbone over here to be honest.
  4. Shave off? As in a dance off? Is that where we get all oiled up and see who can defluff the fastest? Or maybe in the most flamboyant way? Extra points for the best design? 😁
  5. All good at my end. We’ll get a pint one day and I’m sure we’ll have a blast.
  6. I covered that with Slovenly Anyway, we have been sent to opposite ends of the Classroom so we need to wrap this conversation up sharpish
  7. I dont see why people who look after their health here in the UK should suffer because of those who refuse to do the same We have had the repercussions of a slovenly lifestyle and a poor diet drummed into us from the Government and the NHS for decades now But as Big J mentioned, the figures for the US are almost on a par with the UK and Scandinavia and we can hardly say that they are slimmer, healthier and far less densely populated the UK can we?
  8. Yawn If ever there was a case for false equivalence is is it
  9. Not if hes been involved at any stage
  10. You've completely missed the point I was making, perhaps deliberately, perhaps due to your advancing age. Regardless, Ive more than covered my POV and will leave it at that.
  11. 😂😂😂 Thats not what you picked you up on as well you know. Naughty!
  12. Well to be honest it was more of a manor of speaking. Im sure it does in as much as I’m lead to believe it does. For example there is repeated adverts on the radio from the authorities stating that it might not be suitable for various applications including motorcycles. When they are broadcasting this on one station 5 times a day then I’m inclined to believe them and Im sure they’ve done a lot of trials and testing which has resulted in them advising to either not run it in motorcycles or at least make sure your engine is compatible. I have had American Muscle cars all my adult life. As such Im a member of various clubs and forums here in the UK, Oz and the US. Some say E10 has caused no end of bother some say it’s fine. Where I to search for a leading question on these forums either for or against E10 issues that’s all I’d find. (Conformation bias)
  13. Simple. Don’t ask framed and leading questions. 😂
  14. I’m sure it does. The point being that asking leading questions (or statements)will always throw up answers to support that line of reasoning. Again, conformation bias.
  15. It certainly seemed to be framed as a question and when you Google search a loaded (framed) search you’ll find a plethora of confirmation bias backing searches. Going by your reasoning if I search for ‘fake moon landing’ it must be true as I’ll have loads of hits.
  16. Sent him a message. Not heard back.
  17. Morning, I was in a very similar situation to yourself. I have about the same size of woodland around my house and have been steadily thinning it out and milling the timber into cladding, 2x6” and 2x8” beams for various projects. I initially started out with an Alaskan Mill but soon realised I loved milling and started my hunt for a Bandsaw, so I did my research and bought my Logosol B751. But for your needs a Woodlands would be perfect. I’d get the biggest mill you can as you always want more. Larch makes very good cladding and fencing materials. I’d be looking to keep the trees you have for your own use and if needed get someone in to tell them and not take them as payment. I’d not worry about them getting to old, but it’s easy to say that without seeing a picture. 🤣 Milling Cladding is very straightforward, very satisfying as well. “Stickering” them so they dry is simply enough, just mill some 3/4”x3/4” Barton’s and space them out, plenty vids on YouTube on the fundamentals of this. For Cladding I don’t bother drying/seasoning. I just mill and get them up. Milling green is generally preferable. Ash and Beech can go rock hard when seasoned and not fun at all to mill. If I was in your boots I’d buy the Mill and mill everything you need. You’ll either get the big or you won’t, if you don’t you’ll find the mills hold their value very well. If you do you’ll find countless uses for you Sawmill and will is it more often than not. Here’s my workshop I’m building out of Larch and Spruce. I went for the Waney Edged look. Below that is my brothers workshop/office. All milled on my Logosol. Then some Larch Fencing and Oak sleepers for the Driveway. As I mentioned, you’ll find plenty uses for the Bandsaw and it can also make you some beer money milling for others and selling timber.
  18. More name calling Leslie? Skating on thin ice now. I am supporting them actually.
  19. Now now Leslie. You’ve been warned about name calling. Anyway, in my defence I was suitably lubricated with Islay Whisky that evening.
  20. I found that with my missus forgiveness is easier to get than approval. 🤪 Another set-up to look at is the Logosol M7, M8 or the newer F2. I think you can mill upto 30” on them? Bit easier on the back as well. I’d only really go for the Alaskan type set-up if I was milling in customers gardens and field/Forrest logs I’ve bought. If at your own place a Logosol would be ideal. Then after a year you’ll want to upgrade to a Bandsaw. 🤣 I’m based in the North East of Scotland. You’re very welcome to pop over and have a look.
  21. For £1k you’ll get a Panther, a far better built tool. I really liked my Chillaskan though and did me for years. You have cash to spare to get a first cut system and a couple of chains.
  22. Seems an odd thread to start. You want to get into Alaskan milling, you have a 120cc saw and the bar but don’t have the budget for a £200 Alaskan Mill?
