  1. No worries.
  2. More name calling Leslie? Skating on thin ice now. I am supporting them actually.
  3. Now now Leslie. You’ve been warned about name calling. Anyway, in my defence I was suitably lubricated with Islay Whisky that evening.
  4. I found that with my missus forgiveness is easier to get than approval. 🤪 Another set-up to look at is the Logosol M7, M8 or the newer F2. I think you can mill upto 30” on them? Bit easier on the back as well. I’d only really go for the Alaskan type set-up if I was milling in customers gardens and field/Forrest logs I’ve bought. If at your own place a Logosol would be ideal. Then after a year you’ll want to upgrade to a Bandsaw. 🤣 I’m based in the North East of Scotland. You’re very welcome to pop over and have a look.
  5. For £1k you’ll get a Panther, a far better built tool. I really liked my Chillaskan though and did me for years. You have cash to spare to get a first cut system and a couple of chains.
  6. Seems an odd thread to start. You want to get into Alaskan milling, you have a 120cc saw and the bar but don’t have the budget for a £200 Alaskan Mill?
  7. A couple of hundred litre pots and heavy, ie clay pots. Maybe go for a weeping verity with a low centre of gravity and/or a dwarf.
  8. Aaaah, I get it now. 🤣🤪 Geez I’m slow sometimes.
  9. Eeek. 😬 thankfully I just gave the logs back to the boy. Was not gonna waste time on them.
  10. We all know yours though Leslie. That ended when you started ripping stock photos of joinery off of Google and claimed it was your own. 😬😂😆
  11. I’ve only been milling for about 4-5 years and only hit metal for the first time this year. Was milling a bit today myself. Or should I say re-sawing? Customer wanted some 20mm slabs. So a quick pass through the saw. £6 a board foot plus £75 to re-saw.
  12. True. 🤣 I’m still none the wiser to what you meant though. All in jest I know. My missus is a Guff and Im half Guffy (shhhh) 🤣
  13. Well, I’m rooting for England. (Don’t tell my mates!) Was a cracking game the other night. I only seen bits of the first half and most of the second due to milling out in the yard.
  14. No surprise there. 🤣
  15. I’m just outside Forfar and could come down but would be a full day rate. Might not be worth it for one log? 🤣 Happy for him to bring the log to me then it’s just an hourly rate.
  16. The sap starts rising in the Spring so Winter Felled logs will be dryer and season quicker.
  17. Did that come from Scotland?
  18. I’m just small potatoes selling a bit here and there to folk with hobby uses. Beer money and keeps the tools paying their way.
  19. That is strong money. Need to put my prices up Same with Elm if they’re nicely figured. £6 for plain Oak and Elm. Almost all the oak I get is “brown oak” though.
  20. Just now I’m £8 a board foot for Air dried oak.
  21. You certainly know your sheds.
