  1. They are forgiven by a wide margin of people who are not perma-offended for other people though. I could not care less if he used that word. Is it any less insulting than the constant Scottish slagging by a few on here? Jocks, Sweaty Socks, tight fisted etc. I could not care less and I’m quite sure (from the horses mouth) that the naughty word you seem so offended about on others behalf don’t really care either.
  2. He was a Scottish Botanist. I know I sound like a pendant but successful Scots always seem to be labelled British when it suits the English.
  3. Gotta thank the father for the most successful (at the time) Drilling Bit for that. Howard Hughes, now Baker Hughes Texas Primer: The Hughes Drill Bit WWW.TEXASMONTHLY.COM This clunky piece of machinery made Howard Hughes very rich. It is the first in our series of things that every Texan...
  4. Its amazing how light yet strong Sitka Spruce can get. Heavy as hell freshly milled but light as a feather one year later.
  5. I ringing up "brown Oak" for the fire as we speak. Burning great. Standing dead for years.
  6. Firewood. Sell itto me. I'll give ya £70 for it.
  7. I do like a bit of Elm. Makes a difference from being swamped in Oak. Must be 1.3t in that lump.
  8. My mates got the 3ph Logosol Saw on his M7.
  9. Did you watch an episode of Ancient Aliens after?
  10. Hey Joe. Nice to see a fellow Mopar Man here. What is that stunning tree you're dropping?
  11. Lesley has gone from bragging about dropping £30-50k on a Bandsaw to looking at a Fencepost maker. I dont think he'll be overly bothered about who makes it nor the quality
  12. Why would brexit affect customs charges from China?
  13. I have some 20 years Air Dried Ash. I could supply those dimensions from a 40" Diameter Ash Log. Would be £600 plus shipping.
  14. We’ve discussed this at length before.
  15. There’s loads of videos of Farmtec 660’s running up against stihl 660’s. Again, it would be pointless running a Farmtec 661 against a Farmtec 660 for the obvious reason. Out of the thousands of Farmtec users not many complain they are a badly made copy. They all seem very happy with them and have years of use out of them if treated with respect. Not sure how much safety features come into play when milling. What safety features does an 070 have that will come into play when Milling? Yet you’re telling folk they should buy one of them instead. No chain brake and no anti-vibe.
  16. And you said there would be no one on here with a Farmtec saw. I know for a fact there’s more than letting on here. 😃 Putting your 881 up against anything other than a 881 copy would be utterly pointless. You’d be better off putting a stock OEM Saw up against a Farmtec saw and comparing the difference. But I think you know that and intentionally did not offer such a comparison as you’d most likely not see much.
  17. I just sold this rare RHD Fish. Also a Vert but just a lowly 318. Was gonna drop a ‘68 340 in if I kept it. I’ve also got a ‘71 Valiant Charger. It’s an Aussie A Body. Nice to see another Mopar on here. A 383 in a Vert A Body mist be fun! You’ll need those Torque Boxes with that combo! 8 3/4” rear end?
  18. Can’t help with your post but is your username a reference to a 383ci Formula S Barracuda?
  19. With all these Chinese Saw owners coming outta woodwork Roughy is gonna be throwing a fit.
  20. Might be. He never mentioned it when we where looking through his stack. Id imagine its not that interesting as 1, he never tries to entice me with it and 2, he never seems that fussed to get it milled. We willed a bunch of Sweet Chestnut when I was over last If it was that he'd have me mill it then as well. He'd not bother with Horse.
  21. No, it’s the bit with the tape measure on it. It’s a good size. Too big for my Bandsaw so will get an Alaskan to Mill it. I don’t know what that gnarly lump to the right is to be honest? Don’t think it’s Elm though. It was touch and go if I was gonna get the Elm or not as he does not see much these days. I’m sure it was his only bit.
  22. Another day on the Mill. Mostly plain Jane Scottish Oak but also some Cherry. Swapped the days work for a couple of cracking Ash Saw Logs and a good 1t lump of Elm.
  23. Very true and the proofs in the pudding. They’re begging for the Whites to come back.
