  1. Apart from the Op wanting more clicks on his youtube channel Ive been burning a bit of Scots Pine lately. Some 100 years plus tree's. Burns very well in the kitchen stove.
  2. I guess that could be it? Three separate times though. The others never seemed fussed by the taste, saying that not many wanted it. Its always a laugh putting it out on social media that Ive had Whale for dinner and then sit back and watch the ill-informed Woke Brigade get their panties in a bunch. Id sooner have Whale again than Lutefisk though. Kumla for me any day.
  3. Thats where I got mine from in 25mm as I'll be building (attempting) an 8" frame. I'll also need a 3/4" for the 6" Braces. Ive got the chain morticer and 16-5/8" Beam saw and a few of these 1" Podgers from the same website. I could spend a fortune on there. [emoji3] Almost got enough 6"x4" for the Braces and 8" Beams for the Frame so will make a start next time Im home. Any advice for a first time novice?
  4. I’m getting ready to have my first practice in a few weeks time.
  5. Do you like Whale? I’ve tried it three times now and just can’t get used to the taste. Hard to describe the flavour but I find it a horrific combo of beef and fish.!🤮
  6. My mate has a branch logger. I not a fan of using the thing as it seems quite dangerous but it can fairly rattle through the branches. Takes minutes to fill a 1.25m3 vented bag. He uses the stumpy littler things in his own stove and sells the regular logs to customers. The Branches also dry very quickly. Its a good way of dealing with what would otherwise have been left in the forest.
  7. What’s so good about Box wood? Not heard anything about it.
  8. Hey Les, dont know what model it is but its over 6 years old that's for sure. Got 36" Low-Pro bar on it and regularly cuts Oak. It does the business, Id say as quick as a 660 if not quicker but obviously way slower than a bandsaw. He'll often hold over 1 ton logs on the Avant as the M7 bed just wont take it. To put it into perspective he'd rather have me mill his oak and I keep half and he's still way ahead of anything he can produce on the old fence post maker.
  9. They are forgiven by a wide margin of people who are not perma-offended for other people though. I could not care less if he used that word. Is it any less insulting than the constant Scottish slagging by a few on here? Jocks, Sweaty Socks, tight fisted etc. I could not care less and I’m quite sure (from the horses mouth) that the naughty word you seem so offended about on others behalf don’t really care either.
  10. He was a Scottish Botanist. I know I sound like a pendant but successful Scots always seem to be labelled British when it suits the English.
  11. Gotta thank the father for the most successful (at the time) Drilling Bit for that. Howard Hughes, now Baker Hughes Texas Primer: The Hughes Drill Bit WWW.TEXASMONTHLY.COM This clunky piece of machinery made Howard Hughes very rich. It is the first in our series of things that every Texan...
  12. Its amazing how light yet strong Sitka Spruce can get. Heavy as hell freshly milled but light as a feather one year later.
  13. I ringing up "brown Oak" for the fire as we speak. Burning great. Standing dead for years.
  14. Firewood. Sell itto me. I'll give ya £70 for it.
  15. I do like a bit of Elm. Makes a difference from being swamped in Oak. Must be 1.3t in that lump.
  16. My mates got the 3ph Logosol Saw on his M7.
  17. Did you watch an episode of Ancient Aliens after?
  18. Hey Joe. Nice to see a fellow Mopar Man here. What is that stunning tree you're dropping?
  19. Lesley has gone from bragging about dropping £30-50k on a Bandsaw to looking at a Fencepost maker. I dont think he'll be overly bothered about who makes it nor the quality
  20. Why would brexit affect customs charges from China?
  21. I have some 20 years Air Dried Ash. I could supply those dimensions from a 40" Diameter Ash Log. Would be £600 plus shipping.
  22. We’ve discussed this at length before.
  23. There’s loads of videos of Farmtec 660’s running up against stihl 660’s. Again, it would be pointless running a Farmtec 661 against a Farmtec 660 for the obvious reason. Out of the thousands of Farmtec users not many complain they are a badly made copy. They all seem very happy with them and have years of use out of them if treated with respect. Not sure how much safety features come into play when milling. What safety features does an 070 have that will come into play when Milling? Yet you’re telling folk they should buy one of them instead. No chain brake and no anti-vibe.
  24. And you said there would be no one on here with a Farmtec saw. I know for a fact there’s more than letting on here. 😃 Putting your 881 up against anything other than a 881 copy would be utterly pointless. You’d be better off putting a stock OEM Saw up against a Farmtec saw and comparing the difference. But I think you know that and intentionally did not offer such a comparison as you’d most likely not see much.
