  1. Be sure to post the pictures up. Oh, and perhaps the quote too. Since window cleaning pays so well I expect to see over £45 an hour for Labour alone......
  2. Yes
  3. £4K is cheap for a mill that cuts 30” wide slabs. It’s half the cost of the next mill that does the same job. Corners have to be cut and it’s not rocket science to think you need to add Nylock nuts or attempt to add more torque to a band etc etc etc
  4. It’s really not a difficult piece of equipment to set up. I had wavey cutting issues with my mill when I first got it and went through everything repeatedly. Turns out it was just crappy Blades. As soon as I went to Rippers problem solved. Every issue you’ve had to date has been user error. You don’t need to be an “engineer” to set up an over-sized mechano set-up. Just the ability to follow simple instructions and interpret when logical upgrades or improvements would help when you buy such a cheap Mill. If you “just want to be milling timber” then I don’t really see any other options left to you than offer to pay someone’s time to do the job for you. Personally it would not be worth my time for less than £1000. Some guys might be less, but since you’ve asked repeatedly for someone to come free of charge and had no takers perhaps an incentive is your next step if you and your HGV mechanic still can’t figure it out.
  5. I know you've asked for someone to come and do the setting up for you but I think you're gonna have to just bite the bullet and pay someone to come out. Stephen Cull used to do visits, not sure if he still does but you'll maybe have to just resign yourself to the fact you dont have even basic mechanical skills and factor in a fee of something like £1000 to get this fixed for you, by someone here or a search on the internet.
  6. That buggers stole my Condoms again!
  7. He's gone from claiming he cleans windows 7 days a week to one week a month now. He cant keep up with the BS he spouts.
  8. Utter nonsense. Loads of Window Cleaners have been using Reach and Wash for at least 15 years in Scotland.
  9. Every town must have about 40 window Cleaners. Most have moved over to reach and wash now. One or two 'specialise' in traditional window cleaning and make a point of polishing up the cills.
  10. What does the Ram do with the other 6.1 seconds its waiting for you to load the next log?
  11. Certainly looks very quick! Whats the dimensions on that Cherry?
  12. It’s smooth enough just to get the sander on it. 🤣 Imagine expecting a planed finish off of a Band-saw? 🤷‍♂️
  13. We’ll have to have a “split-off”. 🤣 But I get a head start as you have more HP in your Starter Motor than I do in my engine!
  14. That’s a stunning piece of beech. The groves look perfectly accept to me. What more could someone expect? 🤷‍♂️
  15. Looking forward to the video of this beast splitting logs. Sounds like it’s really pouring them out Lee.
  16. Maybe so, but I prefer Silver and Gold.
  17. If the moneys so good in Window cleaning why are half the folk here slogging their guys out for £120- £200 a day? You tell me who's got it right. If the moneys so good in window cleaning why's he dreaming up all this other work when he can live like a king with a Squeegie? I know a lot of Window Cleaners by the way. And why are you not out with a mop and bucket instead of knee deep in sewage day in day out?
  18. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing you dont put it in a fruit salad. Are you talking about first or second fix? I doubt drilling a pilot hole is a technique used very often by a joiner in his day to day work, maybe a Cabinet Maker. Knocking up stud walls and even second fix trim is mostly done with nail guns and not a pilot hole in sight.
  19. Yeh, 15 to 20 tons sound about right looking at that size of Ram and of course depending on what pressure your system is running at. Just think, you could run it just as easily on a gx390 and save a fortune in fuel.
  20. All these supposed jobs, all these supposed contracts and all this supposed money gravitating to you yet you're still just a window cleaner.
  21. Improved? Trainspottings soundtrack was bangin'! Have you seen the state of music today? Its all gone downhill I tell ya.
  22. Unimaginable? The Tories have steadily been increasing in popularity in Scotland. They've taken the second spot off of Labour and all but wiped both Labour and the Lib Dems off the Map. Where we to see an increase in votes for the Tories come May and Sturgeon out on her arse then hopefully the broken record of Indi2 and re-joining the EU will be a dead duck. With some adults in change we'd maybe see Scotland start to prosper again and higher rate of tax we see here than there is in the rest of the UK will be addressed as its nothing more than pandering to the poor.
  23. Thats my thinking as well. But with the 2 stage pumps we see these days cycling times are much better even with low HP motors. Whilst a 10 second cycle time with my 6.5hp motor is not amazingly quick its fast enough for me to split my log, push it off the table, grab the next log and have the Ram back in position for the next one.
