  1. Im fine when news outlets stick to facts and figures and not opinion pieces. Its good to get a broad spectrum of left and right bias to form a balanced view. I assume you do the same?
  2. Did I come across as unfriendly? Which part of my post indicated that? Im offended at the way you types Sky and BBC, it came across as really aggressive.....
  3. Well how about this from what I can only image is one of your favorite rags? Just because you disapprove of the message or indeed the messenger does not mean its not accurate. Vaccine hesitancy in some health workers in England 'may undermine rollout' | World news | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Vaccination rates lowest among BAME staff, under-30s and those in the most deprived areas, analysis finds
  4. I could be up for that. I have the space to store it anyway.
  5. You don’t say? Yes, an island with differing climates. The English riviera to the South and the almost Scandinavian climes to the north. Some that promote more desirable grown than others.
  6. So your accounting is accurate but R4 is incorrect? Seems like you’re in the wrong game. You should be an investigative journalist.
  7. Fair enough. Scottish. I'll start looking at better pricing as I start to establish myself a little better. Up till now its just been a beer tokens and still making a of of cash off of it considering Im paid from my employer each day anyway. My mates an Oak Framer and gets his oak through Jewsons of all people. Jewsons have the contacts and its generally French Oak. He's not paying remotely £6.50 a linear foot, at least he was not pre-covid and Brexit. As you say times have changed. That Geert guy you mentioned to me a while ago has another 20-40t of Elm in. Supposedly sold a load to Wales at £200 a ton. I know for a fact he's buying it in at £80-100. Asking if I want a some at that price, never said much after I told him I know the same folk you're buying it off of at £80 a ton. I really need to get 10t in soon.
  8. Green £100 wholesale = £2 a board foot. Air dried at 20% mc £175 = £3.75 a board foot. Kiln dried at 8% mc £200-£300 = £4-£6 a board foot This is all dependant on decent character. All prices are a vague guide.
  9. Or blowing £5000 on a course to trade in Stocks yet fall back on manual labour? As a Window Cleaner you'd think that a company charging you £5000 for such a course would have big windows and they'd clearly see you coming? Maybe you thought they needed a clean first?
  10. Saul would be the best man for prices. But for Oak I sell Green at £4 a board foot. Semi-seasoned/seasoned at £6 a board foot and nicely figured at £8 a board foot. Spalted Beech I really dont know. Ive got some cracking slabs that have now spalted and 4 years air dried. I was not really a fan of Beech but I was very happy with how it came out in the wee Rocking Horse I built so will use it for more projects now. I dont think its as desirable as Oak and Elm. You never said if the slabs are seasoned or green. Id assume you mean green? There's a man here would would most likley buy them off you but Id say they are worth maybe 1/3 less than Oak? But Sauls your man to get a more definitive answer.
  11. Cheers. Will make for some light reading today.
  12. Its the same with the Flu vaccine, it really seems to be the case that medical professionals just dont generally take it. I wonder why highly intelligent professionals in the medical field dont feel the need to take it considering the places you're most likely to catch Covid is the Hospital Wards. I'll await the responses here. Along the lines of the doctors are clearly younger and are allowing the older generation to take it first.
  13. And your username?
  14. Yeh me to. I tell them as much as well. The only time I have 1m sections is after Ive cut off what I need for my own projects but I'll be damned if Im selling them to the folk who think its left over scraps. Id sooner make kindling out of it.
  15. @Scottish Cleaning Service Any updates on this request?
  16. False equivalence at its best.
  17. And half again. The amount of enquiries I get for 1m lengths for hobby projects is unreal. And as its such a short piece its obviously going to be virtually free, in their minds of course.
  18. Dont turn your words around? No, how about you dont makes false claims about what Ive said regarding Norway to fit your narrative. I dont keep skipping the question as why they are so low. I simply dont know. I dont understand how Covid manages to avoid transmission between a largely homogeneous Caucasian population not wearing masks in busy shopping centers and busy Ski Centers (paying attention here?) and busy restaurants here in Norway yet supposedly passes with ease in the UK. I dont have an answer to that. And its a question Ive been repeatedly asking here and its fallen on deaf ears with those who think that mask wearing is important. Why dont you tell me WHY?
  19. Tell me where I said there was no restrictions at the Ski Centres? You just made that part up. 🤣 And I never forgot you had mates in Norway because I never knew that. But I know fine well there are members here who live in Norway. So it would be stupid of me to make stuff up. Which I’m not. I think the U.K. response could be just as effective if we copy Norway. Since it’s working there why can’t it work here? Why can no one come up with a valid reason? The only thing you can do is try to do is discredit what I’m saying about Norway by putting words in my mouth. Says a lot really. 🙄
  20. He's referring to me. If anything he's empathising with your post about me, thats about me taking the thread away from the main topic. And dont tell him that you're not very empathetic. Thats his dig against me. You'll diminish his point.
  21. Mark, I know Im a wee bit vocal but Im certainly not the only one going off track here. Mark J is now in a side discussion about how much we should be paying for an accountant and for what services for a start. YoungStu picking up my (relevent) comment regarding what this lock-down is doing to our children and yes, it took a side track, but there's more than one person involved in that. Then Im replying to folk who are throwing toys out of the pram because someone else piped up that we should be feeding every dossers kids in the UK and I think we should not be. But its all my fault I see. Who knew I was so influential? And Im sorry but I'll keep mentioning how other countries are handling Covid. Since Norway is the only one that I have first hand knowledge of, and since they are our neighbors and have virtually the same genetic make-up as us, and are handling the crisis in a completely different way I believe its relevant. Since you (and others) ask me how I think we in the UK should handle the crisis can I just take this opportunity to say. Like Norway. Really, simple as that. Its working here, why can no one tell me why it would not work in he UK? Why can cities full of people manage to go around packed stores and not wear masks? Why can they pack out Ski Centers and not wear masks? Why are all the restaurants open with no one wearing masks? No one can answer me, like you they'd rather not even consider that another possibility for managing this crisis is right on our door step. And no offence, but if you find my post that bad why not join your mucker and put me on ignore? It really would be the simplest options. And as for your requests I'll politely decline. Apart from the free Beer, I'll take you up on that. And having just read your last line I feel sorry that you've lost good mates. I really am. I'll leave it at that.
  22. I think he's firing off his CV right now.
  23. Bloody hell. Look at the state of that place. I think you need to add a Cleaner to your business empire.
  24. Believe it or not Im an overly trusting guy. But you've already freely admitted to being a crook so the games already up.
  25. I really need to screen shot this one for the next time you dare to mention anyone rich, let alone the likes of Bezos etc should be paying not just tax, but more tax. Love it. I just need post this screenshot of you stating that employing people released you from the burden of tax. Oh, and its about 5 now? Can I join your tax free club now?
