  1. About 5700lbs or 2580kg. Punched in the wrong species.
  2. You’re looking for a live or Waney edge I think?
  3. Ah yeh.
  4. Hardwood? Softwood? Processor friendly? Location?
  5. I really like the Granberg, super simple to use if you have an ounce of mechanical knowledge. You just need to read and follow the instructions. Not easy for all it seems. With the diamond grinders its perfect. But I can fully see the advantage of not having to lug a 12v source around with you all the time.
  6. Ive got a bunch of Oak ready for milling plus a couple of monster Beech that was standing dead for a few years. Still very solid and nicely Spalted. Must be 4 feet diameter. Got a nice 28" lump of Norway Maple to mill when I'm home next as well, interested to see what thats like when I open it up. But have over 40t of Larch Saw Logs coming in a month or so as well. But like you its a case of no time right now.
  7. Surely the point of a great pension is that you've done the work and no longer have to? With such an illustrious career behind him and an amazing pension it just seems odd to be scratching a living cleaning windows in the dead of winter.
  8. I thought you had a millionaire father and a cushie pension from the Fire Service? You really are full of it.
  9. You dont rate the Granberg then?
  10. Same with us outside of Kirriemuir. Looks like you've a few nice sticks to get through.
  11. I have the Stihl Tongs. Very good bite and as others have mentioned hard to imagine not having them. But they are a bit on the small side and logs that I personally find I could happily lift with a bigger set of tongs have to be hand-balled onto the Splitter. I also have a small Stihl Hookeroon. Again, another great product and one I’ve come to use more often than the tongs now. Especially as you can hook and lift bigger logs than with the Stihl Tongs. Both have their place though. I use the Tongs more if the logs are at my feet and the Hookeroon for logs that are in less easy access.
  12. Cheers Rob, The log is somewhat Oval and I think its 5' one direction and 4' the other, so should be ok, as long as we can roll a 5t log. Could I man-handle the next size Mill up on my own?
  13. Thats some insane colouring! Very very nice.
  14. Well thats blatantly not true. Its a terrible analogy. It was Lord Falconer, the Labour shadow Attorney General, not just some politician. And about the only time I believe a word they say is when they have been caught on tape unaware and when speaking with their fellow cronies, its about the only time you'll hear a word of truth out of them as Im sure you're well aware. There is a plethora of countries you could add to that list. Belgium, Norway, Finland, France etc etc The list goes on and on regarding Western Counties that have had vastly varying rules and restrictions in place and generally negligible differences in deaths and contagion cases.
  15. Knew something pedantic was coming.
  16. There you go. He was about 80 years old.
  17. It was the 64" Bar that I was getting in the kit anyway, so thats handy. But 42" on a 54/56? Thats odd, Im sure with my old Chillaskan I managed 42" with a 48" bar. Whats the max cut width with a 64" bar on a 60" Panther then?
  18. Knobbers like '42 I think?
  19. A 60" Panther wont mill a 48" Log?
  20. Im guessing the more instalments there is the interest reduces dramatically.
  21. how many instalments?
  22. What wood is that? Ive got a freshly wind-blown 4-5' Oak with a 16' stem to mill as soon as I buy a 60" Panther off of you. Do you sell those starter and finish extensions as well? Can see them being very helpful even without a double ended set-up.
  23. No police coming to manhandle and shut down these fishermen selling Shrimp and Crab right off the boat. No masks or a care in sight. How grossly irresponsible and inconsiderate for other people’s grannies. They must be dying in their thousands here. oh wait, they’re not.....
  24. How dare you question Sage and their vested interests with their shares in companies that are making billions off of this pandemic! How dare you question the very same politicians that are caught on camera stating that Covid is the gift that just keeps on giving. How dare you question the draconian laws that are implemented here that when not implemented in other countries their statistics are as good if not better than the UK .
