  1. Never meant anything by that comment, the Op pointed out only one person had joined his page, the chances are thats the reason. But I wish I did so I could tell you to go do one.
  2. I think most of us have a ready supply of logs for free. Strange but true.
  3. Imagine living this far outta town and you’re still next to a pikey[emoji849]
  4. Bit of larch and a bit of fencing.
  5. I’ve heard that “no staff” line trotted out repeatedly. I explained why I don’t believe it in the same post you quoted me from, perhaps you missed that? To add to that though there is thousands upon thousands of medical professionals who have retired and have offered their services but due to red tape have been unable to enlist. There is the the staff there if they want them. But seemingly it’s more convenient to just let people die in packer wards. And no, I’ve never worked in the Public Secor, but I don’t see you being any kind of authority on the NHS just because you spent a portion of your working life sliding up and down a pole and is now hawking for work as a cleaner.
  6. Yet we have Nightingale Hospitals laying empty. One is reported to soon fill 300 of the 4000 bed capacity. When we see these hospitals fill and bursting over then I’ll start to take this seriously. And I don’t buy there’s no staff to man them either. Thousand upon thousands of specialist beds and Covid specific equipment just sitting idly by whilst people are supposedly dying in tents and backs of ambulances. It does cross my mind that herding every patent into over crowded hospitals created the image that the NHS is full beyond capacity therefore we need to maintain and continue the lock-down. Increase it even. But if the Nightingale Hospitals where in use the regular hospitals would be all but empty and there would be a strong case for getting back to some form of normality as we’re repeatedly told we’re in lock-down so as to not overwhelm the hospitals.
  7. I bought the same after you suggested them. I'll get the bit with the removable cutter next. Not sure when I'll be back out flattening boards though. Ive got the Makita trim router, nice bit of kit.
  8. When have I stated that? If Im not wrong most of the UK and the members of this forum seem to think the UK government has consistently handled the pandemic badly. Not the traits of the smartest the UK has to offer surely? And not every country is handling the pandemic in unison. There is vast differences from country to country so questioning how we in the UK handle it, after numerous failures is not the musing of an idiot. Blind compliance and unquestioning obedience might be.
  9. I'll repeat what I wrote earlier. When the unions are instructing their members to not turn up at their place of work, schools, then that leaves the councils with little choice but to take the action they are. Do you honestly think that the councils would close the schools if the unions and teachers all said they insist on going to work to ensure the next generation maintain their education? You dont strike me as particularly intelligent Eggy, but surely you're not this stupid?
  10. I think Dave is quite a smart guy, his engineering skills and certainly his job would indicate this. Yes, indefinite lock-down would certainly limit the infection growth rate. But at what cost? Questioning and weighing up alternatives is certainly not in the realms of 'flat earther' territory. You mention a hypothesis of not having lock down resulting in cancelations in treatments and unpleasant deaths yet thats exactly what we're seeing with perma-lockdown. Doctors surgeries are point blank refusing to see patients resulting in countless cancer screenings not taking place and many people needlessly dying from it. We have numerous cases of young people killing themselves as they're struggling with lockdown. All to save people who's lives are almost over. Is anyone asking them if they wish the country to be plunged into this financial chaos and the ruining of so many young peoples lives? What about the common Flu? Since we cant eradicate it and the vaccines available are not stopping the thousands upon thousands of deaths we see in the UK due to the Flu are we to maintain lock-down indefinitely? Or do these deaths not count? Are we now back to the concern of 'overwhelming the NHS'? If so then when the flu season is over would you suggest we come out of lock-down and just shrug our shoulders at the Covid deaths we'll inevitably have as long as the hospitals are not full to busting? Clearly the vaccine is not the be all and end all. The Flu vaccine still results in multiple thousands of deaths here in the UK. We can only assume it will be the same with Covid. So will we give up on lock-down or do these excess and preventable deaths no longer matter? Preventable as in indefinitely maintaining lock-down. Because every life matters and we should continue to do everything within our powers to prevent needless excess deaths. Im curious to see what a 'tier 5' will bring. I'll watch with interest to see if affects the work of many here and if it does they maintain their same stance. Questioning this is nothing to do with stupidity. But if it is then count me in on avoiding cruises in the future, I dont wanna fall off the edge.
  11. Teachers and the unions they are members of are inherently liberal. Since the pushback is coming from the unions and they're telling the teachers not to go to work the counsels, regardless of their political stance are being left with little choice here.
  12. The left have a lot to answer for. It should be criminal what they are doing.
  13. But you will be on the list when you turn 50.... Because you'll be on the lowest tier of those who are vulnerable and you'll be on the lowest rung of the priority list.
  14. Truly shocking political games at play here.
  15. 50 years of age is on the list of people to get the vaccine. So what you're saying is simply not correct.
  16. Because we’re taking about completely different demographics. Generally those in the house are coffin dodgers and I’d say nearly all are in the “at risk” category. Clearly children are not and these days teachers all seem to be in their 20’s. If there is any in the “at risk” group they should make a decision if they are willing to take a personal risk for the sake of our children’s future or not take that risk and throw a whole generation on the scrap heap.
  17. No idea, but tell them they stop being paid the minute they walk out and we’ll soon see if their convictions are so strong.
  18. That will be the age bit I guess? 😁
