  1. Kiln! Kiln! Kiln!
  2. Id cut them into 3" chunks if it was me. As others have said Oaks not the best burning on its own and to get a faster drying time and more surface area for in the Firebox to burn them 3" to me would be ideal.
  3. I doubt it would ever get lower, that will be purely down to the ambient MC. Well within the preferred limits though. Most stove manufacturers recommended sub-25 or 26% up till very recently.
  4. Fields filled with them a while back when they where all migrating over. Could throw a net from my back garden and catch a few. I love the idea of Goose and cooked half a dozen but I'm always overwhelming disappointed in the lack of meat on them. Plenty of fat for tatties for months after though.
  5. I like the idea of an insulated Container as well Simon. I'd maybe clad the outside so it looks a bit more presentable.
  6. I seen the wording 'saw frame' seemed as little too ambiguous to me. Well, if its clearly not voiding the warranty I hope to get one in the next few months along with the Panther. Did a few years with my 088 and 48" Chilaskan and loved it, just not loving humping the boards around. But Im gonna get a mates Avant in and will mill at my own small yard more.
  7. Damn, is that right? Sneaky beggers! Supposedly they are advertised as suitable for milling but Ive not seen that on their official website. Stihl clearly know folk will be using them for Milling as Saul had/has one on hire for just that and Logosol sell Stihl Saws with their Milling packages, ie M8 and F2 etc.
  8. Have you started Milling yet?
  9. I know that life very well.
  10. @Johnsond is quite well versed in this of late, perhaps he has some updates?
  11. Cant argue with that!
  12. I see you're ripping pictures of tools off of the internet, just like you did when you where ripping pictures of furniture off the internet and claiming you built them.
  13. He sure comes out with some crackers.
  14. Thats ok, Im away that long anyway. My Logosol was replaced within a week. Guess it depends on who you shop with?
  15. They are not selling it to for less out of the goodness of their heart, to a man they've never met before. They are selling it to you for less to secure the sale. After I assume they know what the competitor is charging. Ask @Johnsond what the cost price is on these. They're still making a decent profit. Buying from the company thats willing to undercut the competitor is not your buddy but it could be the start of a good business relationship.
  16. Id rather go and pick it up if it was fairly close, and by that I mean within Scotland. Driving 12 hours in a day for parts is something I do when I have to but Id rather not. And they are not doing you a favour, they're making a sale. Regardless, if packed correctly the shipping is insured and the seller is not on the hook anyway, thats what the insurance is for. Saying that, I cant think of an item Ive had delivered or shipped myself that was damaged if boxed correctly. The only think I did have delivered damaged was the Logosol Mill and I took pictures of that before it even left the truck. Davies where not fussed as they claimed it back off of the insurance, they where just glad it was documented before unloading as it made the claim much easier.
  17. It’s insured by the sender. It’s not your problem til you sign for it.
  18. Perhaps thats the kind of sexist stereotypes females can do without these days? Well done Sammy. Looking forward to seeing how things pan out for you. Im sure you'll impress the lads.
  19. I started out Milling with a 48" Chillaskan and my 088. Sold it as I was not using it at all but now Im getting more and more requests to mill bigger logs than my B751 can handle and the logs I'll be getting in soon will be getting a load of Oak and hopefully Elm in that my Bandsaw cant handle either. So I'll get the 60" Panther and it should pay for itself very quickly.
  20. I have a bandsaw, some will say a hobby version but unless you have over Β£12,000 to play with you’re not gonna get a bandsaw that cuts wide enough to make decently wide live edge slabs. That’s why I’m getting another saw and a 60” mill.
  21. Fair doo's.
  22. Thats clearly nonsense. But Its nonsense Id personally like to see. Imagine how many meat eaters there would be if they had to raise and gut their own beasts and foul? I happily do both, as many do here. I have the land (just) to support all my own meat production if it came to it. Id love a great reset. Its a pipe dream though. But if its real can it come soon Im getting a bot long in the tooth.
  23. Ok Β£500
