  1. It is. Can be bought cheap as chips from the likes of Jula. I had one from there and lasted the Five years I was in the house and as far as I know its still working. Branded ones are a bit pricier though and can be recharged where as the cheap ones are sealed units. 2. Its not crappy. You cant have every man and his dog wandering around a managed forest helping themselves to whatever they see fit with whatever tools they see fit. Most people who are buying FC for firewood will be buying in Arctic loads, ie over 20 tons at a time. They will not be remotely interested in selling you a few sticks here and there. If you're wanting a few sticks for your own hobby use then try and get in with your local tree surgeons and see if they will sell you their arb waste. There is also a tip site on here, where you can enter your details to receive free or paid for logs.
  3. Maybe, or maybe they would not need his services full time where his employers no longer allowed to hunt foxes.
  4. If you mean the pro's and cons of Fox Hunting I agree with you whole heartily. I am 100% against it. It does not mean I cannot see the local implications of its complete removal.
  5. And does he manage to find the time to carry out this additional burden that clearly happens year in year out within his normal working hours?
  6. Take AJ up on his offer then? Easy enough to post.
  7. Did you check out this page Dave? I find it very handy; Angelim vermelho | The Wood Database - Lumber Identification (Hardwood) WWW.WOOD-DATABASE.COM Jarrah | The Wood Database - Lumber Identification (Hardwood) WWW.WOOD-DATABASE.COM Looks like Steve is spot on.
  8. Only because thats the corner you and a few others have painted him into.
  9. As I mentioned, its a hobby and a tradition to them. That day they did not catch a fox, but surely over all they do. As I mentioned, its a hobby and a tradition to them. And it keeps a lot of locals employed in traditional jobs. If they wish to spend substantially more money maintaining fox numbers this way and keep quite a few more folk in a job then great. All this uneconomical expenditure is being pumped back into the local economy. And all this extra work potentially keeps him in a full time job. Its like the Shopping Trollie guys complaining folk dont put their shopping trollies away. If they did he's be out of a job.
  10. Absolutely. I'll just call a spade a spade. You guys are just doing the same thing with a different veneer. Same same but different, but still the same.
  11. Me neither, once they start to whip someone there is simply nothing you can say or do to stop that. They'll just turn every single thing you type now against you. I dont understand the logic at all.
  12. Not many hobby's make you money. Is it uneconomical though? Its privately funded, its generating local income, it does keep Fox numbers down and off of the tax payers back. I dont like Fox Hunting though.
  13. I find that a very unfair comparison. But sticking with your analogy its would be more akin to a rapist sentence increasing and that in turn bringing up the sentences for sexual assault.
  14. Who paid that cost? Did anything happen to the guy?
  15. Oh oh, you'll have Micks panties all bunched up getting that slightly wrong.
  16. I think that’s why mine cost so much. It’s all plated up.
  17. I'm planning on resawing some well seasoned 5" Ash slabs in half. Guess I'll have to up my sharpening game if I wanna get through the full length of them.
  18. Its not something I particularly like the look of to be honest. There is some cracking examples but I do wonder when the fad will pass. But I guess you'd not be making it for yourself but for the customer and if they like it great! I prefer the tables that have the river look but have a shaped glass top like the picture below. If anyone knows how or where to get the glass shaped like this please share.
  19. He's making the point that he does not want to skimp on the oil for the Mill like he would normally do in an old car. Do keep up.
  20. You need to start using a winch.
  21. Eeek, no wonder it’s buggered. I’d be changing them out ASAP and putting this down to an embarrassing lesson learned.
