  1. Looks like what Im seeing here in Norway on a daily basis, but without the fear mongering and mass hysteria.
  2. Phil Scofield mincing about on TV flogging knackered cars has noting to do with EU law. I think you're confusing Terrestrial TV regulations with what the BBC implement.
  3. Its the same with the Oil Field self employed. On paper they have a great day-rate and some folk moan. But as you say, they pay their own tax and NI. There is no health insurance and no pension and no shares schemes or base salary. Once you calculate it all out the Agency staff are slightly better paid but then they have no perks or job security.
  4. I dont see an issue with that. Whats wrong with working over time and if there is a need Id rather that need was filled from within the UK and not farmed out over-sea's. Edit; just seen Silverhooks reply. If it where allowed see above.
  5. In its original conception the M Series was aimed at farmers knocking out fence posts etc. With its single head support its never gonna be that accurate and will only get worse the longer the bar you put on it. If Logosol recommend a maximum length bar I'll assume they've tested with a longer one and where not satisfied with the results. You should only expect so much from a tool aimed at making fenceposts and beams. If you're planning on maxing it out to any kind of accuracy you're headlining into Bandsaw territory.
  6. Retired Doctors. Let that sink in. Highly intelligent professionals who know better than the vast majority of the inherent risks involved in Covid, who have made a good wage and most likely have a comfortable life and pension consider the risks low enough for them to accept. Or we have your opinion. I wonder who’s I’ll respect more?
  7. Im thinking of a Bobcat one day. But til then I'll keep renting in the Avant. I quite like 3" slabs and seem to get more interest in them these days than I do in 2". 4" is ok but then you're adding needless drying time if you're just gonna rip it down again anyway.
  8. Beat you to it? You just gave a completely different size and one thats almost impossible to man-handle. The rest of the saying is fools seldom differ, but that would be unfair on Saul.
  9. Are these the stairs you told @eggsarascal you where off to take a picture of but then never did?
  10. Nothing like a bit of Cherry picking for them for them to vent their faux outrage.
  11. We dont talk about the Elephant in the room here.
  12. Then they should have been training them up. Im not entirely convinced this is the entire truth either. Why build them if they cant staff them? Im more inclined to believe that they are simply not needed. What are the logistics of flying over trained staff? Im constantly told how badly the UK is handling the crisis, on that basis other countries must be doing vastly better than us to make that claim. As such there must be a plethora of trained staff all over the western world who we could entice over with fat pay cheques. We've blown so much money on nonsense already whats another billion when we could actually save some lives?
  13. Surely the masks will be stopping anyone getting infected or spreading it?.......
  14. Lose stacked that cant hold more than a 1m3 bag of lose stacked logs. I burn that a week in the winter. Id need 30-40 of these lined up outside. Logs will season themselves if stacked out of the rain, or stored in vented bags, or IBC frames. But if a cute little box is needed to keep the missus happy then this would be a a nice idea for those that light their stove once in a blue moon. Im sure you'll sell a lot of them and I hope you do.
  15. I think we're gonna all have to get used to hexadecimal.
  16. I think most folk here are well versed in the problems of burning unseasoned wood. But a phone box size store where you post logs in will still need a minimum of a year to dry. Thats a long time to wait to have a weeks worth of logs drying if its your only log store. Im sure you sell plenty of them to 'Hobby Burners' who pop a few logs in for special occasions but for anyone burning to heat their home this product will only ever been seen as a quirky gimmick.
  17. Name a year when the hospitals in the UK have not claimed to be on the brink of collapse this time of year? All these Nightingale Hospital's sitting empty as well. I'll take the hyperbole with a pinch of salt when I see them over flooded as well.
  18. Do you live in an area where folk will steal a few chunks of wood?
  19. Remember to never leave a Torque Wrench loaded for extended periods of time, always wind it down to the minimum setting or you'll get a set in the spring and your readings will be off. I doubt for such an application like setting the tension on a Bandsaw it will affect it that much but if you come to torque down a cylinder head later it could well do.
