  1. I used to love some tomato soup in a flask to take fishing.
  2. Bill. Have you has the 2nd flag fitted now , if so how is it holding up.
  3. Dare I ask what you may be missing !!
  4. I always use Parcelforce 48 if sending saws back and ask anyone sending them to me to also use them. They have been very reliable . Often the end result at the point of delivery is down to how or if the recipient of the package knows the parcel company (who ever that is) delivery driver. This often saves needing re delivery if they mis you and know they can leave the parcel at another place.
  5. .25 and .30 is the usual amount, never seen .22 What make of chain and pitch have you got? As Stubs said ...minimal anyhow so wouldn't worry personally.
  6. In that case what I would do has already happened if your wish came true.....Me....I would erase religion from the world.
  7. This may seem almost to simple a thing to do after all you and your dealer have already done. All things being fine with the fuel/air and electrical side of your saw (may or may not be ) then the need for good compression is still a consideration. As others have said "do not use the de comp" when hot to give the saw the best chance of holding in the compression it has (it is likely to be less now than when new). This is the simple check to do....when the de comp is out (top case off) give it some spins holding it against the friction. I have had them leak a little with carbon build up inside. If yours has a slight leak you may bed the valve back tight on its seat. You could check for a leak before if you want and then after.
  8. Burn some as well as mix in with green wast to make compost .....Have just put one of these in the workshop ...can take sawdust /chainsaw chip /or wood.
  9. Decent cord is no bad thing to use for kindness to the piston crown if you are going to use a "contact" form of stop. I never use a piston stop myself as i have adjustable air tools and tend to use just the compression of the saw to work against as my go to method. On the odd occasion (and if the manual says "never use a impact wrench" ..many do) i have put some soft cord (no fluffy ends ) in the top end to help as some cushioned resistance against a spanner and clutch tool. Not using a piston stop (metal or plastic ) saves putting all the stress on the plug hole threads as a bonus.
  10. Have you noticed that the saw there taking into production is a older design and that the output seems to be what the non electronic version is rated at both power and free max rpm. This is a different approach to Stihl and Husq who went straight into the hi performing pro end with M tron and Auto tune.
  11. They do...nothing proposed for the pro climber side yet by the look of it.

  13. Your second sentence is exactly why it is never that straight forward to diagnose a problem on a forum sometimes !
  14. 550 has had many upgrades now along with the 560 platform. AT-12 carb along with cooling improvement ,air filter improvement and now as with the 560 it has a new 6 bolt case. If you like Husqvarna as a make then there is less to be concerned about than with the early versions of the 550. 2018 IPL info for you.
  15. If you don't have a leak causing a lower Psi than it should be (150 psi and up is common ) then that saw has issues. Muffler off time to inspect the piston if you can be sure the tester is trustworthy and you find no leaks...5 hard pulls over minimum .
  16. Yup..it was something Husqvarna decided needed addressing (562 as well in the US) and so was put on there dealer network IPL's as a retro fit substitute. This is on the 2015 IPL.
  17. It could be that your dealer was trying to get you the upgrade crankcase with the extra bolt if your saw is one with a 5 bolt fixing. This would be one of the IPL list upgrades that are listed for 560 saws along with fuel line..hood top cooling holes..air filter holder ...to name a few
  18. I will add to the info already given by pointing out 2 things. 1 "Starts and runs lovely" .......maybe not 100% due to my second point. 2 ..A saw that has a carb + fuel system + correct tune all working properly is very unlikely to... "Run" ...on the choke setting unless it is a Injection carb used on some happy start Dolmar saws. The most "likely" situation is the "High idle" on a hot start not being used, and then, the possibility of the carburettor needing a new kit and service followed by the breakdown of the coil when its hot.
  19. 2 clips seem to be on the sort with the clutch and cog all in 1...yours looks to be the single clip sort from your picture.
  20. Check out if the hi idle setting that is activated when you set the choke is properly de activating after the choke is of .
  21. 2 things to be sure of before getting complex with your BR600...are the the purge bulb lines ok along with the bulb itself ? Make sure the impulse line is undamaged and connected "both" ends. The basic settings of the carb (what is shown by the screwdriver holes )will probably be ok if you machine has or still has the limiter caps in place.
  22. I use my greenhouse for many other things than toms and bringing on plants. French beans up into the ridge, squash running round the toms along with all my salad crops due to the lack of slugs and snails. Carrots do just fine iv found so i would give indoor growing a thumbs up.
  23. Yup, 5 days ago...uncovered the bed from its winter carpet top to let the bit of sun I had get into the ground unhindered for a few days.
