  1. You have ...E...clips with holes in there tips ??
  2. On top of the run down ADW posted for you ....when taking the carb apart , did you remove the 2 jet needles ( H and L) . If so or even if you did not they have a "basic setting" of "form lightly seated clockwise" and then back open by 1 1/2 on the H and by 1 1/4 turns on the L.
  3. Take a look at ..Arada ...(Arrow and villager). I have the Hamlet solution 7 . You should find one of there stoves close to your budget . https://www.aradastoves.com/hamlet
  4. I have tended to use this companies products.
  5. I have this 2 ltr one for carbs and other small parts. Been fine and is now in its 3rd yr. Ebay or from the company.
  6. My post was a "General" comment on the subject Steve without singling you out as any sort of example. I believe this situation with Stihl and Husq has become more relevant to "Independent" outfits as the equipment that it superseded is moved away from by the tree and forestry industry. I do know some that refuse to get into the "Plug in " saw market and they ether want to keep there existing kit going or they want a alternative. Maybe...that is where the possible future for some will be! BUT....my " Big Problem" scenario can happen when the customer "Just MUST have" stihl or husq product . OK...so then they buy from the dealer new and depending on if there "Cost adverse" to maintaining or fixing at dealer prices, and or if , they are happy with the dealer service .... If not, the product maybe ends up on the independent outfits bench becoming there head ache depending on... what ...needs attention. A spread of makes of equipment that is worked on and something new to supply from the "Non Plug In" equipment range could be where the "independent " industry can function.
  7. Now lets not get all "Shedist " here ! ...and not all sheds may be of the garden sort. ? Some mighty large and complex things do and still do come out of sheds .....Locomotives as one example. There are plenty of "independent service and repair services" out there , some good, some bl@@dy awful . The nature of the big two is to protect there interests so it is no shock to me that the Tech is guarded . As the motor trade went, so this trade seems to be going. If your only work is on the equipment that uses that Tech and your customer base only want that equipment, then sure, you may have a big problem, but if your doing a wide spread of makes and equipment then...for now , its less of a day to day issue.
  8. Interesting...was this your motive for joining Arbtalk.
  9. So your not here to... "criticise anyone or any brand" .......As your first post included your phone number along with reference to your background , I take it what you are here for is to drum up trade for yourself.
  10. Barry. Will you be able to sell Stihl OEM parts and saws via mail order ? Not sure if there are any restrictions from Stihl. It would be real handy to know if ordering from Stihl IPL's I have and quoting part numbers will work for your outfit. Thanks Simon
  11. My thoughts are ....Is there a time frame to the situation you find yourself in? Did ...you... notice and identify your concerns over the situation ?
  12. I think the worst thing you /me or anyone else can do is to start making comparisons with other folks work attitudes or life choices and thinking it makes us deficient in our own life. You do what you do and if that means not being a so called .."Go Getter" or having less life "Ambition" ..so be it. Finding a happy balance between doing things that you feel you "Have to" by way of earning a living, but also not being to self critical if you do not want to work all day every day is a good thing i think. If your self employed then being able to do that should maybe be a perk in my opinion. Inspiration can often come from unexpected situations ,times, places and people....so i feel its no bad thing to look around with out judging yourself by the "So called" modern standards of lifestyle that often seems to shackle us. I have no "do this "or do "that" answer to your question..... Im not sure that I should anyhow.
  13. Haaaaang on a minute !! Slippers (Moccasins really, so count as duel function ) , Skoda , all less 50+ in my opinion ..BUT.. what do we see on the car radio !! Radio 4 ....is this a recent thing ?
  14. Sawchip

    MS 660

Sound, it might have popped out during shipping. M.M.W.S.....If its a ported saw ..the grub screw ..may.. have been taken out to allow for less restriction and the tube may have been left in the carb box intentionally.

    MS 660

Not IMO...it should sit back in the groove you can see round the tube.

    MS 660

See the hole in the orange plastic ? the pipe tucks into it. The Tank vent itself is as per this IPL picture.....
  17. Not often things get cheeper in our day to day life , so last yr it caused much head scratching and in the end a phone call to my motor insurers to get to the bottom of the ...Reduction !...of my premium. "Its because you now are over 50 and fall into a different risk group" !!! ....Brilliant for yours truly ,but !! Im not so convinced that the second the clock flicks over your birth time making you 50 it suddenly makes you such a lower risk !! Thankfully those with a crap driving history at least ( with my insurer im told), get looked at differently. I have a real issue with the poor, bad, and just inexcusable driving that happens on the road network.
  18. 100% not a Husqvarna saw !!!
  19. A "Genuine" Second hand ms 260 that has had a easy life is what everyone wants ! ...so you will pay a premium for a good one. Unless your consistently cutting firewood 15" -18" a lot of the time you may like to consider the 024 ms 240 as well. One other point...if your familiar with working on saws then a second hand saw is a more viable option allowing for the chance it will need some work sooner than later , but if not then maybe consider a new saw of your choice.
  20. I am not fazed by solids ......Yet ! Clean and non smelly flasks, works a treat.
  21. I have a 1 word comeback Mick........."Steradent"
  22. If a larger saw is what you want.....I dont see a down side to the 7900/7910. There a simple non computer plug in design for a fair price .
