  1. You have got to put copyright on that one
  2. " Dont be Lame ...DRAIN" Thats one good thing about a purge bulb to some degree ....if you dont run the machine till the carb runs dry on lay up ( i dont ) then at least putting new fuel in the tank and pumping the bulb helps to get fresh fuel in the carb ASAP..helping normal fire up.
  3. Have lost count of how many saws/hedge trimmers/strimmers iv had in this year after the winter lay up due to folks not being able to start them on the old fuel ether in the tank, or by them putting last years mixed fuel in the machine thinking it was ok !! Folks dont make the connection with petrol "its self" going off in a mower ether ! I go along with the basic rule of small mixes and also keeping the fuel and oil apart till needed. I personally dont use mixed 2 stroke more than 2 months old and put my own kit away drained as best i can if not being used much.
  4. Iv had a few...very good to work on ...nice bit of grunt (4.5hp ish depending on carb) on a 18..20 in bar for X cutting .
  5. Try this one Adam...I have one and its been fine. Its in amongst the listings on Ebay that you can find if you look for ....Vac/Pressure brake bleed tester
  6. Have bought metal caged bearings from garden and hire spares if that helps...."Other part dealers are available "
  7. 1987 Husq 50....Oil cap (complete with O ring ) pt no 501 76 56-02 and handle side insert 503 40 47 -01
  8. Just double check the basics...Fuel ,,spark and air. Make sure the start procedure is right . I eliminated flooding as you said it fired ,ran, stopped .If it was ok end of last year its more likely to be ok now unless there is a bad fuel line or plug. Its never easy coming up with guaranteed solutions "blind" but as it did "something " rather than nowt at all when you first went to start it i wouldn't think its to much to sort it
  9. Fresh fuel ? Old fuel? sometimes it takes a bit to pull fresh through and get shot of the old ..Plug dry ? look to fuel issue ..wet..check for spark ? Change out the plug to eliminate..you can always put the old one back in once you get it running. Usual stuff before getting deeper
  10. Besides ..."Good well made Plastics" in the appropriate place are fine IMO ...there Light ...I like light
  11. As a opener.....Been running this year ok before this ? If it has a purge bulb then air isn't a issue. Reving up and then cutting out tends to be fuel starvation if the revs elevate before stopping iv found.

    242xpg for sale

Would appear to be partly made from the stuff judging by the starting price and showing the reserve not met !! I love um ...but ..Wowww
  13. If you can't find a way to take it apart then a good quality arasol carb cleaner and a air line will help or a ultrasonic cleaner if you have access to one.
  14. Hey Will This one is the auto oiler .. ouuuuu luxury !! and even that is working. It did impress me how well it cuts though , Toque is real strong... it runs 3/8 chain as standard and is the best part of 60cc .You should get the one you have out and give it a go . Simon
  15. Yup..40 to 50.1 should be fine depending on your preference . Me...45.1
  16. Flipping Nora Andrew !!! that blooming new avatar is enough to give you Nightmares !!
  17. Do you mean I now have to change my opinion as iv learnt something i didn't know !!
  18. Well Sir..I can only speak for myself ,but my opinions change with experience and knowledge
  19. Bought as a running saw..and it is
  20. Guess you missed the .."In My Opinion" out !
  21. I have old and new Dolmar/Makita saws as well as Stihl and Husqvarna. I would say that all the makers mentioned so far have ok..good and" Oh Yea !! I like that" ..saws in there ranges. If you are looking for other brands to try out then Echo and Dolmar /Makita will give you proper" full on" Pro and semi pro alternatives I believe.
  22. Along with the Echo...Dolmar (or Makita equivalent ) 5105 or 6100.
  23. Thanks Spud, thats real helpful as so far a 357 hasn't been in my possession to do more than service work on so always handy to have a good overview. Would very much like one as a personal saw but the dosh is a bit much for a likely candidate to work over at present. Appreciate the info.
