  1. Just a better built /spec saw for a tinny tapper :big grin:. Cheep if you have to go new, better cooling , clip opening top and better air filtration ,plus its 40cc.
  2. Might be a good idea to take a look at a 135 as well as the 236…
  3. Anyone know if the Sthil KM-55r strimmer has a rev limiting coil ? Think a faulty "NEW" plug was at fault as it sounded like it was bouncing off a electronic limiter lower down the rpm range than i would have expected. It 4 strokes at 10,500 ish and picks up cleanly plus idles fine now.
  4. So many numbers ! so many ways of selling a saw to us on statistics !! Honestly …don't bother a jot about the rpm's …as long as the saw is working within permitters , the saw is able to cool itself and your mix is good then your safe. The Legendary Husqvarna 242 xp free revved to 15500 rpm 25 od yrs ago .
  5. I think the max on the 550 xp is a lot higher than 10,200…that is under load RPM and not "free maximum" Your 13,800 is "free Max" on the Dolmar i believe. All is good as there designed for those revs
  6. Have found it useful on saw chains that tend to have some oil and crud on them …and in general it seems to help regardless of the material being worked on.
  7. No problem Steve …just didn't know if you had to subscribe to it as a separate thing.
  8. Can anyone tell me if you just need to be a member on here to post something in Arbtrader. Thanks
  9. Now I wonder where iv seen that lot before !
  10. I stand corrected..was under the misconception the 266xp was a bit faster under load speed than the 266 se …didn't realise they were effectively the same spec.
  11. Not owned but worked on … Basically its a slightly slower running but same cc version of the 266 xp mentioned above. I cross cut some ash with it for a tank..feels good to use and is no slouch in standard clothes . I would snap it up if you don't mind trawling for parts as and when needed.
  12. That comes from my dim and distant past …engineers chalk is preferable ,hard not soft blackboard chalk
  13. Little tip that may have already been mentioned… If you rub engineers chalk on your file and then tap it leaving what sticks in the grooves , you should find the file will self clear and not block up so much.
  14. Gardenkit …Barrie. A generous chap in both knowledge and time. Thanks Barrie.
  15. I wouldn't go that rout personally…You really would be better off with a direct like for like substitute. You have the carb off your saw that has the part number on it so you should be able to order a duplicate…Or carb kit to service your original unless its damaged .
  16. The WT-215 won't have the pipe connection as was used on NON primmer bulb saws.
  17. If its the right carb then maybe it should have the same pipe connection for the primmer line. Worth checking out maybe. WT-215 and WT-286A I think are 2 that were used . WT-286 was for easy start model ..primmer bulb i would guess.
  18. One had to ask ..just so there is no confusion
  19. We are talking of "Tea Bag" as in tea to drink i hope Stubby !!!
  20. Mr Conan Doyle had it about right Me thinks .. When you have eliminated all that you can , what you left with is …Well you get the picture Homes
  21. Good O…Assumption can be ones downfall iv often found and its never easy to know what to take as a "Definite" when you don't know what has happened in the recent past!! History can be really helpful and has often saved yours truly a Wild Goose Chase on a few occasions
  22. We are out to of sink on our posts Spud..didnt see yours before i posted
  23. If your sure there is fuel at the carb and the L jet and H jet are clean then make sure there at the basic settings and then have a butchers at the Choke mechanism and the flap in the filter. It Must close fully ! . Go through the could start procedure and if no good check the top of the cylinder ..if dry you know your not getting fuel and concentrate on that. PS...Unless the above post solves your issue…i posted this before seeing spuds post.
