  1. Ps..Meant to say….your saw isn't exactly as the 242,254,262 linkage wise but the printable of the throttle reducing its pressure is the same.
  2. The 200 group of saws are rigid mounted carb to cylinder rather than a boot and the throttle/ trigger linkage has the tendency to "not" keep a even pressure on the end of the throttle rod after a while . Pulling up can slacken the pressure from the trigger tab in the back handle as it flexes on the AV mounts. You may even find the carb isn't getting full throttle when you depress the trigger under some other conditions. I check them out on the bench without the saw running to see if the throttle is hitting max when you pull the trigger.Iv re bent the rod on a few saws (254, 262 ) to take up some of the wear. The tab on the trigger in the handle gives a element of shock and distance absorbing as the saw flexes. Worth a look maybe.
  3. My adventures on 350..346 saws has been that if the clutch is "Monster" tight and fights you all the way then the needle roller assembly is usually Pooped . Not necessarily connected in the lock up situation but could show the lack of regular removal or a smear of copper-slip on the crank thread. I get the feeling greasing of the roller race is overlooked by some.
  4. Throttle linkage may be changing position when you pull up..Have had this happen with some earlier Husqvarna saws.
  5. Same as WoodED said ..Impact gun if you have one and ether a cut up too fit impact grade socket or the Husqvarna tool for about 16 quid from G H S. You won't need a piston stop ..just don't leave the pull start on as you can knacker it on re tightening if you get carried away..big leather glove works.
  6. That would be wonderful if the parts diagrams were there for the finding and ordering proses. Parts list detail is "Sketchy" at best for one German make ..unless you happen to be a dealer !!. Payment by Paypal would be good as i wouldn't personally be ok with card transactions unless on the phone to the company. Overall ..excellent thing to have available.
  7. Fine.. a sealed system at least can't get crapp from outside if its oil tight. Most auto boxes on cars these days seem to be "leave alone unless theres a problem or leak" Thanks for your help Barrie
  8. Bottom end coming off for a sharpen and balance tomorrow so will look out for any boss bearing and clutch issue. The drive speed seems ok as it moves one click forward from stop position. Is there a Recommended hydro oil change age Barrie ? this one is less than 2 seasons old .
  9. Its the 4 wheel one and the hydro system all checks out …Groovy ! one less hassle. Your advice logged away about the roller ones ..right pain to work on when i did a 476 tail end of summer, small hands would have been a help
  10. Noted … this is the variable Hydro Version so i guess not the same as 3spd gearbox drive ??
  11. This one is from a small company who have ..OLDER ..operators so its not abused by the look. They do some large houses so i guess it puts in the miles rather than stop start all the time. Thanks for your advise
  12. Yup... Agree it may be a bit worse if they act as a snag. Its not like a saw that will stop if tangled in kevlar ..Best defence is …ATTENTION !! ATTENTION !! to the job .
  13. Hi All This is more a pre emptive strike than fixing a fault. Have a Honda 536 HRH pro in for a service. Iv worked on other Honda mowers in the range but not this particular one and apart from the usual service and maintenance items are there any particular things to look for on this mower. All seems fine with it and have been told there are no issues while being used..would like to keep it this way and would like to avoid overlooking something due to unfamiliarity with the model. Thanks Simon

Passed the Vac test so carb and fuel line to do as 150psi comp has already been found and the cylinder/ring checked over. Back AV's shot …Genuine ones are available but they aren't cheep !
  15. There was talk of a premature wear of the bore's at the time if memory serves..? ..cant remember if the rings were to hard or the bore was to soft but i was aware of 50,000 (or bellow ) mile ones that were needing a full sort out.

This is making me think that a few saws will be on there way to Ebay shortly and me having a word in Andrews Shell Like !! Have a 111 and a 115i but fancy a blow on the newer ones
  18. Oh Nice !! Closest iv come to that was on the early 2.5 turbo diesel land rover . Rocker cover vapour soaking the air filter and then the engine running on the oil. Some early Discos with a leak on the turbo have revved themselves to death if the engine hasn't been staled …fast ! Have seen the aftermath of that !not pretty. I had non turbo 2.5d 90 at the time the turbo was causing some concern and kept it for 20 0dd yrs ,slow but less temperamental . Better than walking in the rain
  19. Got you… Have come across this point that if the engine management puts the engine into re gen and the engine is then turned off before this has fully happened then the unburnt fuel can wash the cylinders and end up in the sump if it happens enough times. Im not directly familiar with Trooper engine as my truck was a Brava non turbo and before all the issues. Most makers iv come across seem to put there injector just before the DPF or are using Uria in the engine rather than raw fuel injection.
  20. Interesting..how was that conclusion come to ?
  21. As i understand it..there is a cleaning cycle with particulate filters that involves raw fuel being let into the unit once a vehicle has run within "certain" specs for a given time and temperature range. This is usually on a run and at higher constant speeds, A roads and Motorways. This procedure may vary by manufacture of corse. Im familiar with the ERG valve and its associated problems and was just pointing out that not "all" the smoky discharge may be down to this.
  22. There is a "possibility" that some of the random smoke observations on cars and lorries that has been mentioned could be down to the "Particulate Filter Cleaning Cycle" and not always a blocked ERG.
  23. Just put my 262 with a 20in on the scale..17 lbs and my 361 with a 16 in comes out at 16lb. Bet there close with the same bar on them. They have always felt about the same in practice but the 262 feels as though all its dead weight is right under the hoop handle if that makes sense. The 361 feels more flexible and therefore softer to me due to the spring A/V mounts.
  24. It was a very serial thing to do Mick..Bit of a eye opener i can tell you. Rural living sort of pushed me in that direction along with thousands more . As you say ..its very normal now.
  25. Nope…Im pure as the driven snow me…:big grin:
