  1. Hi my Jensen A521 old but strong, has no fuse that I know, the sensor on chipper wheel goes into the box of magic which then controls the switch on the hydrologic valve to slow the indeed wheels, did find a strange "fuse" Hiden behind the box of magic that melted, but hat was for starter motor on Harz diesel replace with a proper in line fuse. There must be a fuse on the stress power in, on my board I had to replace a diode that fell of "dry joint" (normal black and red stripe) this was powering to stress controls I think, it worked any way. But it was getting to my limitations in electronics, as hobby engineering. Don't give up the best compliment I got in Germany was "Hobby engineer are not so Bad, because they think out of the box"
  2. 40% is too much, is there a problem with rot etc. 40% reduction in the inner mass? Still don't seem good. The town council, do they have new man, that maybe does not really understand trees. I would double check before doing anything. We are Arborist not Buchers. (Sorry to any Buchers out there).
  3. Hard to say without seeing a saw, I agree with key way or cylinder wrong way round, I always start on easy things first Spark, coil, is fuel getting in cylinder, key way could be it maybe not completely broken and moved, then timing is out can not run. First chainsaw build is always the hardest, but great way to learn.
  4. Not a nice job, I agree. I would a stupid price quotation. I would of consider us a spider buck lift (cherry picker) should of been able to drive on to tennis courts even with wood under, and as much with chainsaw top handle. Ok the buck lift on track's are not cheap to hire but better than dead or hospital for days👍😀
  5. It's a Jensen not a China Jansen. Jensen is a proper chipper not a toy electric chipper. I took it apart and worked it out My self sometimes only way when you can't find helpful pictures or someone that's done it before.
  6. This reminds me of a, I believe a Yorkshire saying " There's nowt so queer as folk. Stupid times customer ring is really a big spoile the day, Sunday early morning the worst. And subcontractors, "who should know better after 9pm asking if you have time to work for them spontaneous, is it only me that like to keep appointments and plan ahead.
  7. Hi hope/looking for help on a Jensen, my second hand low hour chipper needs help, the connection to the Hartz motor, Needs to be repaired, it was, I believe bodged up. Looking for information on the connection and maybe part numbers.
  8. I dont use them any more they were the best things I ever used (same boots as Andymacp) but they did not live long had 3 one after the other, comfortable and light great working and climbing boots, but they all split in the same place just behind the steel to cap, DIY repairs did not work long sad, Hope the company reads this, and work on a solution, I would like to have a pair again. Boots for heroes, of course which we all are in tree work. Tried other boots still looking my forest boots are Andrews great sound as a pound but not for climbing with.
  9. Does anyone know whats up with my general saws its doing something strange. It works as normal! power out put etc. Its just when I need to under cut, cut on top side of bar, the power drops of. Will take to bits at weekend to look at silencer and carb., but this does not seem logic why power in normal cut. Was thinking clutch bell could be miss shaped! but looks good. any one an idea:001_smile:
  10. Hi this looks to me like a Bignonia family (Catalpa) with such a hole it must come down or heavy reduction of the frame work. Somtimes one sees this with no invasion from insect and the wood is hard only slow beggings of decay and reduction of cellulose. had to take one down before Christmas with such a large damage, but no invasion of inner wood, was sound as a pound. Lovely lots of wood for wood turning. I see a lot of these here, planted alot in Schools and lots are butchered, by DIY know better people. The second to last Catalpa had a small hole at base in school yard near sand pit realy deep, the canopy was getting weaker and weaker so it was decided it had to come down it had Dia of 60", it had no hart wood any more 40" above ground level and all hart wood into main tap roots had gone, it would have come down it self very soon. From what I see it will not fail in one go, will tend to break and split from the size and maturity of the tree, better a new one, one can not change the past, it should of been kept small ie.polarding or not planted where it is. Always be positive it such situations, especialy when its your neighbour.speak to the Head make a surgestion on planting a tree for the Chikdren as a project, then happen to mention the Catalpa is not very safe for the little one and could also be part of the progect over the life of tree etc.
  11. Church yards are great, no one around to ask stupid question, normaly can enjoy your work in peace and quiet. only problem is the stones, always have extra bins the long black plastic ones for mixing cement. We use them alot here in Germany, fit on the hole perfect over the stones. Thank goodness for handy,! A tip take photo of graves around tree, you have evidence of possible non damage and you can see were all the deco was. Try for the work, there is always money even if they say there is non. Its true you can not do the work for free, only cheaper if a just cause and only when the money is there for the months end, family comes first.
  12. It burn or should one say, smolders thats why its used for matches. it must be dry it rots away when you are not looking, good for end of day to keep fire going with out much heat great for out side fire BBQ when it coals, careful when windy, its realy good at making the grey stuff that gets in eyes and always on the steak, it make a nice potters glaze but thats another story.
  13. One of the biggest banks in the world would not trust full of legal criminals known as bankers and pollution's, what bank can you trust there all connected and control the world more than we give credit. Gone are the day of the old little building society:laola:. We have to pay for giving them our money anyway its just worded different.
  14. I use mx14 great pure or diluted also a house hold fat clearner the ones that say they can do miracle or the cheap one with an x on the back but don't leave it on over night and put gloves on. I put a rusty old bar from a garage find in Pure solution for 3 days. Got bissy, forgot it wow was that clean like an acid bath could of pitted the steel.
