  1. Labour's gained nine points on the Tories?.. This election was mean't to be about Brexit, if the Tories carry on scoring own goals its goin to be about sticking the knife into the Tories... Dropping the Winter fuel allowance will turn every pensioner into an anti Tory voter.. What was she thinking of?, perhaps her idea of throwing the right a fish before she betrays them on Brexit...
  2. [ame] [/ame] Buckinbilly, the woodsman..
  3. My sister in law went to see a clairvoyant a few years back, I told her she was wasting her time and money and that I'd do a better job... I do, or should I say did once believe I had certain intuitive abilities, so I thought I'd try my hand at doin a cold reading of sorts.. So, I closed my mind, hoped images might appear so I might attempt to interpret them in some regards to her recently deceased father.. Well, all I got was my friends dad filling my mind.. fella called Joe.. well what to make of this I says to myself, was her father gay and and he wants me to pass on a message to a hidden lover?.. What to make of Joe?.. So I sort of gave up an started on another topic, I obviously knew nothing about being a psychic.. Anyways, I'm just about to leave but I have to satisfy my curiosity, Who's this Joe I said. Deathly quiet fills the room.. Thats my mums name.. Well I didn't know were to put my face.. I'd no idea her mother was called Joe, I mean, why would I?.. what woman's called Joe?.. Never tried it since lest I really embarrass myself..
  4. Climbed that mountain a dozen times in all weather.. looking at those pics, I sort of feel like doin it again..
  5. Well done.. Nothin like that moment when you hear the stump crack for the last time and you know you have it...
  6. I don't know, you sometimes wonder who's to blame when these things happen. The thieves or the victims?.. Someone turns up at your doorstep askin if you want any tree work doin, what do you do?... To be honest, get the cops to catch the thieves, bring the dolts who employed em and flog em both on the town hall steps...
  7. I'd say washing at 40 degree's is just recommended for best results.. I can't see how an extra twenty degree's is gonna compromise their safety.. be a poor pair of safety trousers that get killed on a higher wash every now an then..
  8. He had the rope under the trailer so I think he was covered safety wise.. Now, as to the hole now being filled with water, more than likely make the job harder as now you have suction to contend with... Might be an idea to use chains though, if nothing else, at least you should be able to see what roots are holding the stump in..
  9. You haven't gone out far enough to get that out.. no wonder your strugglin.. I'm off down the road in a bit to get one half the size of that out.. An axe, a couple of spades and a farm jack should do it... I'll take a chainsaw to cut the roots if I can clean em up a bit first.. [ame] [/ame] You could of gone down this rout if you'd had the tackle..
  10. I think Reg's point in the video is to provoke debate in the comments section... I dare say he cares less one way or the other on the subject... still, there are some good points to be made one way or the other.. Company logos for example, can hide bad workers, and bad work practice living off the reputation of better men who went before.. Or, they can reassure clients they're not employing bodge and scarper from down the road.. Amyways, who cares what subject's on the vid, I enjoy listening to reg no matter the subject. he's pretty funny in his own way, especially when he's running for a coffee...
  11. One of my customers who I cut their lawn for had a cherry tree fall down in his back garden last week. I chopped it up for him into manageable pieces, I was wondering if my other client, who has just bought a wood turner/wood lathe, might want some pieces to make bowls from.. what should I be looking for in the wood, that would make em a good bowl for him to make?..
  12. 80 years old?.. get her to get a gardener in.. Whats she thinkin of, faffing with a strimmer at her age.... one fall in the garden and it might be her last.... give me strength...
  13. Yea, I thought Timon's post made a good read.. Though I could argue a few points if I had to. The glaring one that springs to mind is Greek philosophy, how much more advanced would we be but for Christianity winning out over the idea's of the Greek philosophers?.. And I might add, Christianity was the seed that spawned Islam.. Still, we are were we are, and if I could choose one big thing Christianity did that we all should salute its the crusades, without the church directing events, Europe would be a patchwork quilt of Muslim countries by now.. In that regards thank Christ for Christianity.. and the Church..
  14. RIP Theocus. Sad news to read of his passing... from what little I knew of him, he was a decent fella who'll be missed..
  15. I've seen enough of Diane Abbot over the years the expect a car crash interview on a regular basis.. She's basically labour's Boris Johnson without the brain... I am annoyed that the press focus in on her cock-ups though, its not like she's doing anything unusual for her is it.. Its getting to the point where it looks like she's being bullied as well, which is sort of making me hope Corbyn does better than expected.. I never thought I'd be saying that... least not just of late.
  16. Just read that about an hr ago.. Interesting, but it misses the point of May calling the election, its not been called to create a mandate to go to Europe, but a tactical ploy to undermine the power of the Brexiteers in her cabinet.. The greater her majority, the less concern she'll have for her brexiteers.. not to mention she will be able to get shut of most of em after an election.. There's also the possibility that things don't work out in her favour, she might end up with a hung Parliament, I recon that would suit her just fine... The worst outcome would be no change, a conservative majority much as it is today... That would be her worst nightmare as she'd still be trapped betwixt a rock and a hard place... As to Europe, seems they've decided its a hard brexit on the way, I don't blame em, why should they bend over backwards to appease a few hardline Conservative MP's who want to ruin everything for them... payback is a bitch as they say...
  17. Speaking of clear outs, fella I know had a couple of old broken down chain saws, so I said I'd take em off his hands for parts.. Popped down last night with six chainsaws, all of em wrecked one way or the other, a petrol lawn mower, next to useless. a petrol jet wash, engine runs.. a crappy strimmer though nearly new, and other assorted crap.. the wife is mithering him to get shut, so he says. Cost me fifty quid to get rid of him in the end... he thinks I've done him, I think I've spent fifty quid to move the crap from his garage into mine LOL...
  18. Well I was thinking firewood for my own use, its why I qualified the comment by saying I was a one man band.. I suppose if your flogging tons of the stuff you might well be better off with a covered building...
  19. soak it in ice cold water...
  20. I don't watch the telly any more, I get my fix on Utube.. though I don't have a favorite vid as such, here's one to get the heart in the mouth though.. Alex Hannold worlds top free climber.. scares me watching him, I don't know how the fella does it.. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRoFQUdUL7E[/ame]
  21. I do know the answer to that, Nuclear weapons are a deterrent.. That means they exist to deter. No one with a brain ever expects them to be used... If on the other hand nuclear weapons ever get used, its pointless asking any of our leaders what they'd do as we couldn't fire them without the say so of an American administration... Again, whats the point of asking Diane Abbott a question like that unless your an absolute moron..
  22. There's more chance of hell freezing over than her being in government in a few weeks.. Which begs the question why does Piers Morgan insist on asking such a dumb question?. he's as thick as she is useless..
  23. A good wind or, a sunny day should sort out wet logs.. which begs the question why have a building at all?.. I'd build a shed for my gear, and leave the logs outside.. tarp sheet if you must keep rain off the tops of logs... Mind, speaking as a one man band here, not much use for a building to house tons of anything never mind logs..
  24. could of done with one these a couple of months back, then again maybe not!!.. I did a post an rail fence for one of my customers, not so much a case of digging out as mining out a hole every half hr..
  25. Is he saying that to assuage Le Pens constituents or is he speaking from conviction?.. If from conviction and he means what he says, then perhaps he might become an ally during brexit talks.. If he's talking about it to steal Le Pens thunder, then you'll know as soon as Brexit talks begin and the French side with Merkel.. No matter his motives, he is right. without Europe taking border security seriously, Europe wont last another ten years...
