  1. So, diamond edge line is formed in a vacuum?... is that like go faster stripes on a car?. I've never snapped a tap head yet, and I've used strimmers for years.. you must be doin somethin wrong.. Having just looked at the flexi head on utube, I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole, you'd spend more time bent over re-threading that thing that actually strimming:thumbdown:
  2. Nope not winding you up, I tried it once, couldn't stand the stuff.. I use stihl myself or occasionally I get some bog standard from a gardening shop a couple of miles up the road... If I'm gonna be doing anything hard core like Brambles, I use two strimmers, one with a blade, another with the thicker core wire... I switch up depending on how dense it is.. If its gonna get caught on wire, I use the thicker stuff, or if its my gardening strimmer just bite the bullet and prepare to tap out a bit more wire than normal... Here an there you do tend to get a batch of crap wire, I tend to throw it away and get another roll, its better than strimming through gritted teeth
  3. Buy a smaller roll next time... pointless buying strimmer wire to last a decade LOL.. Stay away from that diamond rubbish as well.... in fact I'd just get bog standard wire if I was you, its only gonna get caught on the fence anyway and constantly snap off.. better to waste cheap stuff than expensive stuff...
  4. Thats terrible, its one of the things I always worry about if I ever get on any heavy equipment.. and one of the reasons I tend to not use it if I can help it...
  5. I try not to blame immigrants for anything really, unless we're talking Islamic immigration (what an own goal that is?).. My argument about immigration is its a giant ponzi scheme to save the city institutions money in regards pensions, not to mention it helps the government out in that regard as well... Heres how it works in simple to understand language, the more people come here, the bigger the economy gets.... at least in theory?.. Its why Britain's economy was expected to over take Germany's in twenty years... how can you predict that unless you have a plan to import millions more migrants... 70 million migrants have entered the US since 1960, we're emulating their business model... My argument is, to stifle immigration and force the birthrate up to one where it becomes stable and self sustaining.. after which, we only accept highly educated immigrants thereafter... now who can argue against that?.. As to schools and hospitals, get used to them havin less, we have a debt to pay off, and one thats gonna get worse before it gets better... No I don't blame immigrants for that, though they are an extra burden to cope with...
  6. How many times have I heard, "what works best for you"... That's not to say your chosen option might be the best possible option of all the options available, but if it works for you, then you have your own gold standard.. Theres the advice on buying a tripod ladder, don't go for the tallest, get the one you'll use the most.... thats good advice, it can be translated to anything you work with.. Trucks included...
  7. I had a tail lift on my van when I first got it, came in handy here an there but eventually took it off to save weight.. Took me a morning to take it off, should of taken an hr but I was doin it on my own, so took my time and was extra careful.. a couple of bolts to undo and remove the electrics.. easier than you might think..
  8. Not sure if this might help, but someone on the forum suggested squirting some WD40 into the carb and then staring it... one of my chainsaws was bogging down after start up so I thought, what the hell, I know it ain't gonna work but whats a little WD40 as opposed a new carb.. Squirted some WD40 into the carb, attempted to start up, brown smoke coming out the exhaust and then it fired up... runs like new again... It might not be whats wrong with yours, but why not give it a try...
  9. The real fake news outlets are the established media.. Power has gone to their heads, such is their inflated opinion of themselves, they imagine they can bring down governments, undo government policy just by manipulating the narrative during the nightly news.. Scumbags...
  10. Doesn't surprise me in the least, I recon local authorities and railways attract the same sort of workforce.. leastways when it comes to the lower end of the labour force.. If I owned a £20.000 chipper, ain't no one going near it unless I knew exactly what sort of person I was dealing with... I mean, I wouldn't let any old knobrock drive my truck, and thats not worth a quarter the value of a good chipper...
  11. when these machine break, does it ever cross anyone's mind that some bozo just wanted an early finish and threw a lump of metal in there?.. I'm thinking along the lines of those who work on railways in particular.. I've known loads of people who work the lines.. a lot of em ain't fit to travel on a train, never mind be charged with fixing a rail line up..
  12. Hope it works this time, just watched a utube vid LOL... Bonus is the brand new chainsaw to go with chipper...
  13. ERRR, how does one post a pic up?...
  14. 18HP... I'll take a pic or two later today and post em up.... I think its about five to a couple of years old.. I didn't want to ask him how old it was, I was trying to get it loaded on my truck before he changed his mind about the price LOL... and its a brigs and stratan..
  15. I was thinking of converting mine to road tow, or just watchin that vid of the Peruzo, thinking of puttin it on tracks, its not like the TP100 cost anything like it would of new. I might use some of the money I saved convertin it...
  16. [ame] [/ame] You mean this?.....
  17. Well apart from him losing his mind the other day, Its not like its somethin thats ever happened before, bar a couple of dust ups when we were kids... And I'm sure you've had a run in with the wife and have both gone at it hammer an tongues, and by inches you both realize your banging your heads against a brick wall.. and, after calming down, you think, well that was sort of fun... no harm done, a good blow out out the way..
  18. Theres falling out and falling out, as long as each party feels free to bang out a few complaints/insults and each knows the other isn't goin to go for the baseball bat, a good falling out can be a bit of fun in its own way...
  19. [ame] [/ame] Bought one of these a month or two back.. six hundred quid.. Fella I bought it off said he'd never used it, had to buy it as part of a contract.. they had to have a chipper on site, so he bought a TP100... And to think I nearly splashed out on a brand new CS100 a week or two before.. Trouble is it don't fit through most gates, bein on the wide side... still, it'll do me seein as I only do the odd tree here an there....
  20. hahahahah.. very funny... Yea, I've got this!!!! Plop...
  21. his son was on the bike, went over to complain and ended up in a fistfight with him and his son.. well not so much a fistfight as a wrestling match LOL..
  22. Don't mention dirt bikes, what a kerfuffle I've had this week about those things... The week started with me grinding my teeth about the noise and ended with me and my brother brawling in the yard.... If theres one thing I can't stand its unwanted noise... silence is golden... Stefan that fire picked up some, and the sausages looked good enough to eat.....
  23. looking at that fire its no wonder your neighbor complained. next time get some charcoal on the boil... And, Stefan, how on earth is that sausage expected to cook over that lump of wood?LOL..
  24. Russian train subjected to a terrorist bomb... A few days later a Chemical attack in Syria... Americans mistakenly attack Assad's forces. Putin bombs humanitarian convoy. My theory is Putin, using Assad as his proxy, launched the attack as retaliation and warning for the attack in Russia.. Obviously they can't publicly blame Putin, but a message can be sent in his direction via this airstrike.. The message, look Mr Putin, we understand your annoyed and want to do something about the terrorist attack on your train, but this is not the way to go about it.. and yes, we're serious...
  25. I've just done a cursory search on the net, and found a couple of example's of old ordnance that have killed people.. I also found some expert say that for the most part these old bombs are pretty harmless.. On the off chance you might end up with a live one, better to air on the side of caution... I mean, I wouldn't expect anyone to pick em out the ground and start whacking them with a lump hammer to see which version they have... If I found one, I wouldn't be terrified neither... well maybe a bit disconcerted..
