  1. He asked if it was possible to start a business on your own with the occasional help brought in.. It is.. whether its safe to do so is another question altogether.. Reg is doin OK usin that strat... have you some advice for Reg?..
  2. Me to, I've started to go to bed a little earlier and feel better for it..
  3. Isn't that how a lot of business's start up?... whats the difference between an arb business and any other..
  4. Considering their perception was that fires in these blocks of flats would be isolated to individual flats, and all they had to do was put one fire out, I don't blame em for not bringing along a very long ladder that might, or might not of reached the burning flat.. Perhaps a more pertinent point would be, did the residents have a clue what to do in case of fire?.. Had there been any fire drills and how effective were they?.. or, are they?..
  5. Over the years I've watched the fella on the news and lately watched a few vids on utube to do with him.. as an arch remainer I'd of thought I would hate the fella's guts.. But I sort of like him as well.. not least because he doesn't seem to B/S his way through an argument..
  6. Google News Anyone mad as a wet hen with the new set up?... if they don't change it back soon I'll be looking for another news site..
  7. err short reach, forget the model, 30 inch cut though.. and I do have the long reach ones but tend to use both, swap around a lot for the change.. but never tried an harness on anything, I might just give that idea a go:thumbup1:
  8. could of done with that this afternoon on Dora's privit hedge.. chinese torture holding those edge cutters at shoulder height..
  9. A prothet?.. I'd say analyst of sorts. big companies pay good money for people like me who spend time looking at the world and seeing how things might pan out.. And I'd say Hammond would love to take on the job right now, not least so he can give her the boot, or quash any political dreams she might even now harbour for herself.. she was gonna sack him, and Boris too for that matter.. so even Boris might support Hammond.. never thought of that but it makes some sense..
  10. Er, yep, how to negotiate, ask for the moon to get a piece of the sky.. What May's been up to I imagine.. threatening a hard brexit as better than no deal.. but she want's deal, only they ain't listening because they know what negotiations are about too.. The real strategy is to get the Europeans to soften their stance on immigration, they on the other hand can wait her out knowing thats all she has.. still, they might cave on that in the end, and thats what they were mostly discussing at the last EU meeting.. how to solve the migrant crisis..
  11. Are you on somethin?.. all the traffic points to May being a liability, she said she'd stay as long as she was wanted..... Until they ask her to leave. Seems pretty clear to me a campaign is under way to find a successor. Hammond would seem the ideal candidate. for one, unlike Boris, he isn't a divisive candidate.. and two, he comes across as a decent fella who knows what he's doin.. unlike May and Corbyn..
  12. Don't you think its us who are being hostile, wanting our cake and eat it?..
  13. You might be wrong again, Corbyn has just overtaken May in the polls as to who would make the best Prime Minister.. Everything she touches turns to ashes, every marginal seat she visited was lost to the opposition.. She is toxic and they know it.. They have two years to change things round, and the longer she's at the helm the harder that becomes.. get yer money on a change of leader..
  14. forget who mentioned it, but someone said if May resigned within a month of the election then Corbyn had a right to call another election.. got me thinking the Tories might hold off for a month then, and low and behold I just read that some senior Tories want the chancellor to take May's place as a stand in till the next election.. Might have some legs this one, perhaps May resigns out the blue in the next couple of weeks?.. I mean lets have it right, the woman's a lost cause.. Boris, give it up mate, your finished too.. he might as well piss off as well.. On Corbyn.. Needs to get off his high horse, a coalition of voters voted to kick the Tories in the nuts, they didn't vote Labour because he had anything useful to say..
  15. A friend on mine has one in mint condition, painted red.. looks the dogs blloks..
  16. Don't kid yourself, these idiots will blame Europe for anything they can away with.. even after we leave.. It wasn't two minutes back some politicians were bemoaning slow euro growth for our economic condition.. now its us slowing things down for Europe I suppose.. will they mention that? somehow I doubt it..
  17. Whats that to do with anything?.. I suppose we aught have a new treaty every new generation going on that logic.. perhaps we can negotiate a new treaty that gets america back?... see how that goes
  18. Matelot an skyhuck We joined the EEC knowing what it wanted to be?.. an economic block working towards an ever closer union.. if the voters are too dumb to do their homework, well shame on them.. As to the expansion of the EU, its us who promoted and encouraged the idea in the first place.. As I see it, this election has given the remainers another bite of the cherry.. before we had to follow through on the brexit vote. this election has muddied the waters enough to suggest we aught take another look and think again.. Give it a few months and we will have a new referendum to clear the waters.. a clear choice, hard brexit, or no brexit.. none of this have your cake and eat it nonsense.. Autumn or Spring, if your a betting man..
  19. No surprise there then, Ergodans an Islamist.. In that regards all he needs to run his country is a copy of the Koran, it explains everything doesn't it?.. Wont be long before his country is as backwards and useless as most of the other countries that have fallen prey to that books teachings.. Meanwhile Brexit. Teresa May is looking for a get out of jail card.. I get the sense that she's waiting on Europe to capitulate on immigration in some way.. Macron might be an ally in that regard, now if we can get some movement in that direction, it might be enough to keep us in the EU.. If we don't get any compromise in that direction, the Europeans are gonna stall till the last minute and let us fall off the feared cliff edge. Thats another year of biting nails and wondering who's gonna break first?..
  20. A family of gypsies moved onto our land, well a field ma dad sold em.. got to know all the local gypsies round about's and learned about their money making schemes.. At the time most of em were flogging carpets from the back of a van, cheap nasty stuff as thin as cigarette paper.. others did tarmac while one or two did the odd tree when they weren't doin scrap.. I sort of liked the idea of doin tree work and fancied havin a go at it myself.. never did any tree work with any of the gypsies mind, just struck me as a good idea.. I've been meaning to make myself into a tree chopper ever since, never seemed to get there mind, always somethin in the way. at first lack of a good chipper, these days its the back, keeps playin up whenever I do any damned tree's.. So I keep it small if I can, just the occasional tree.. but I do wish I'd done it in a serious way when I was a lot younger.. I'd of bin the Reg Coats of Bolton by now LOL.. But anyways, I should thank the local Gypsy community for inspiring me to do something I love when I do do it..
  21. I'm presuming the owner didn't want you to disturb her flowerbed!!!.. why not dig the plants up, then drop the tree whole, buckinbillystyle?..
  22. Yea, Teresa May's sacking... Boris being quietly told to suck on it, and David Davies being offered the job of Prime minister.. Other than that, now the election is over, its gonna be funny watchin the brexiteers cry themselves to sleep as Brexit slips ever further away from them...
  23. Yet..... Thats the word you're missing in that statement..
  24. hehehe welcome to the club:thumbup1::thumbup1:
  25. Hasn't the government just released the latest data that suggests we're now the slowest growing economy of the G7?.. Lowering the value of the your currency gives any economy a bump, but thats it, a bump.. next up is the slowdown.. Might even explain the timing of May's election, she gets to see the figures before we do.. she might of seen the turning of the tide.. and tried to get an election out the way before it becomes apparent we're heading downhill..
