  1. Meindl woodwalkers are good walking boots.Dont really use em at work anymore so i wear em hill walking or takin the dogs out
  2. I used a climbing helmet on all my ground courses and no one said anything.
  3. Yip,2 climbers,1 trainee,1 experienced
  4. Like this. The tail was wrapped up too keep it away from the saw when i was cutting but can be left dangling. A flick of your mainline retreives it same as a cambium saver
  5. Does no one use a pole kit on here? Length of rope, ring on one end and a ring prussik on it so its adjustable. Retreivable, easy too set up,run your mainline through it and you can bomb down stems, retreive it,set it up again and knock off big sections! On angled/bent poles i find 2 lanyards can help. One set up as norm round the pole and onto your side D's the other can be chokerd on to the stem and attatched to your lower bridge rings to pull you against the lean. May sound complicated but its really simple
  6. I 2nd gary! Get the 346xp,bullet proof saw.I have a spud ported 346xp which pulls an 18" bar no problems but a standard version is ideal on a 15" bar. Gutsy enough for most jobs, felling, crosscutting and logging. You can of course hire a bigger saw that can pull a 20" + bar for ringing up the bigger stuff.
  7. Mark is that the old style andrews or the new designed ones that matty was slating? If it is the new ones, how are they compared to the older ones mate?
  8. So far,by number of saws owned, husky is by far in front. Interesting how many of you lads have older huskys. Never really used many old huskys myself but im on the lookout. And im on the prowl for a stihl 241 if anyone wants shot of theres.
  9. You could make one of those with a short flipline and a ring prussik. I like the way he puts his mainline through it though. Not a bad idea that...
  10. You ever use your 88? Ours lay in the workshop for 2 years and then we sent it off to the auctions. Never came across anything our 66 couldnt handle
  11. I forgot our stihl battery pole saw. Does that even count??
  12. Probably been done before but we were having a conflab at work about collecting saws and what saws we use day to day. Day to day at work, stihl ms 150 ms 201,ms261, ms441 and 660. My own saws ms 150,ms 180 spudded husky 346xp and a 066. Ive been offered a husky 560 for buttons but im wary but it could be another to add into my lock up. What you got What do you use daily and why Anyone who has a collection feel free to post pics etc
  13. This is the best advice you'll get

  16. Dunno where he lives To be fair im not sure he does either... Oooh Too far?
  17. Actually billy connolly is anti establishment.Doesnt beleive in politics, politicians or any sort of organised government. Chaos i think its called... Wait a minute... Aint that what we have now under Mrs May???
  18. Let me know if the PPE police turn up as i shouldnt be sayin this but I really dont think chainsaw boots are the most comfy to wear with spikes... Scarpas are good in spikes but are not chainsaw boots..
  19. On my second pair of andrews cervinos and dont have a problem with spikes in them. I use bashlins and treehog spikes, both have velcro tops and buckle foot straps. Great boots for me. Im shitting it they've ruined them with the change in design though The thought of going through several type of boot to get to the right ones again is a reet bastard
  20. I have no problem with sweary words when its merited ie when debate gets heated or someones being a knob. I dont think arbtalk has been overly rude of late but one thread comes too mind and some have been goading others but as i say i dont have a problem with adults using adult language when things get heated. At the end of the day its out with our control and the mods have warned us to pack it in,so we will. End of
  21. Typing tourrettes?
