  1. Got both zillon and art positioner. Positioner wins. No frills, instant grab, rediculously smooth. Its the best mechanical lanyard grab by far.
  2. I hadnt thought of it that way steve. Your bang on Thanks
  3. Dont think anyone has mentioned how this will affect our quoting proccess. Time is money! The more time we spend selecting 2 tips, getting into the tree, working the tree with 2 ropes will take more time etc this will have a knock on effect in what we charge the customer, which in turn very well could result in part time charlies or the uninsured/un proffesional obtaining more work. Not a safety point of view but still pertinant to our industry
  4. How does this affect a rescue scenario? Would a rescue climber have to instill 2 ropes to perform a rescue? Also how will this affect a spiking up a stem in a rescue situation?
  5. Hes a very experienced arborist. Questioning his skills will only result in him chuckin the toys out if his pram, and rightly so. Im positive hes felled plenty big sticks in his time. Pokin the bear is dangerous... More scotwhining will ensue You have been warned
  6. What alot of shite. What happens when we have accidents with 2 tie in points? Do we need 3? 2 tips are a pita plus all the associated rope management that comes with it and lets not even talk about rigging with two tips plus a rigging point plus a rigging redirect! This really highlights just how fucking out of touch and utterly clueless hse are about our industry. If guys are falling out of trees its more likely because they are under pressure to knock out trees fast and thats where the problem lies. Companies putting excessive pressure on climbers which ultimatly incurs accidents. Disapointed but not surprised
  7. Working cockers angus,on the right and nora
  8. Id echo what rough hewn said. Contact local firms and see if you can get some days here and there. You have zero experience, knowledge or skills so be prepared to drag branches or do some chipping. Get some safety boots and a forestry helmet, oregon do the basic ground helmet, ear defenders and visor for about 40 quid. Invest in your boots dont get cheap shite cause you'll be doing a lot of walking in them, make sure theyre comfortable. Look at forestry operations aswell if that interests you, forestry commision etc Good luck
  9. Its not. Scotland has voted differently from England for decades. We want total self governance. Top 10 tens companies in the world how many are oil? 3 exxon, shell and cnpc. So it looks like oil will be around for a long time yet, especially when trump and the Chinese have no qualms in inceasing production. Scotland also leads the way in renewable energy manufacturing. Our wind and wave power is ahead of any other nation in europe. Our top industries are banking and financing, computing, tourism fishing, agriculture, whisky and of course oil and gas. We have alot more than oil up our kilts...but what do i know im just a simpleton.....?
  10. Id go for the 562 if your looking to pull an 18" bar 550's more of a 15" saw. Depends what your using it for though, may be ok in soft woods
  11. Ive woke up and glasgow seems to have transported to Africa overnight...
  12. Dont let facts taint daves rose coloured glasses now. It was on a bus Boris and Farage said it It must be true Oh and it was judged thusly "Lying about statistics is not misconduct"
  13. Thats not an arguement its a question I didnt see a link, but if you cant be arsed backing up your points with credible proof your not at all convincing. Yes you are No steve bullman is Your being prickly and over sensative again dave...
  14. Im in!! You bring the pitch forks, I ll bring the sarnies and tea... Corned beef and pickle ok?
  15. Who said we would have an Snp/Greens coaltion government in an independent Scotland? Snp are the vehicle to independence as its their number one priority but once thats delivered it could well be a traditional socialist labour party that runs Scotland, considering thats how Scotland has voted for decades, id say theres more than a good chance of a Scottish labour party taking the reigns. As for the oil,we could debate that all night and neither of us would change our minds so its pointless talking about it.
  16. Dont let the truth get in the way of his arguement eggs
  17. What arguement? I was asking politley for proof, which you havent provided. Dave i dont know you but you seem to come across as a prickly/semi aggressive argumentative tadger...alot.... Maybe you should wind you neck in
  18. Care to elaborate or explain dave?considering we havent even left yet...
  19. Been through this already...short answer is yes we can afford to go it alone. Putting 900 billion in to the treasury since 2001 and getting 475 billion back in "subsidy" tells its own story. Ukgov figures by the way. Ask yourself this question If Scotland is such a leech on the UK treasury why have the last countless PM's been so determind to keep us in the union.... The answer lies in this. The day before Donald Deware was due to take charge of Scotland as first minister with a devolved parliment he allowed tony blair to take control of all the southerly oil rigs in the north sea, 7 rigs i recall, changing the maritime border. Blair was under the impression that after a couple of years of devolution the scots would become sovereign and he needed a guarentee of a definate oil revenue to sustain the economy. Its all about the oil If we were just mars bars fryers and haggis chompers we would have been set adrift in the 70's. Look at the McCrone report which was buried by the british Pm in the 70's for fear if the scots becoming independent.
  20. Vegan boots? Do they come with a dip? Ooh sweet chilli...
  21. I do eggs, and the last 3 polls up here have seen a massive increase in scots who want a sovereign Scotland. Polls averaging about the 60-65% pro indy at the moment. Remember scots overwhelmingly voted to stay in the EU. Hard brexit coupled with bojo and co with a massive reduction in devolved powers will see the union split. Cant come quick enough for me. Self govern is the only way Scotland will move forward. Anyway think of all that lovely money the treasury will save if it doesnt have to subsidise us mars bars frying loons.... If you believe that....
  22. Yeah cause that makes him a decent person, fantastic politician and a prime minister fit to lead a country thats currently drowning in the shit. One good thing though.. No more union for us jocks.. Bye bye, were offski !
  23. Anyone who thinks bojo is good for the country needs there head seen too. Hes a self confessed power hungry careerist and fuck all else. As for brexit, looks like Macron is about to pull the trigger on kicking us out of the EU in October so Boris will be saved from that distraction.I wonder if the Nhs will get that 350 million he promised on the side of that bus.
  24. Totally disagree mick. I can only comment on my experience with the 201 and imo 12" is the better bar choice. Obviously your experience differs
