We took out a big fuck off euc about 2 months ago,i was on tractor duties,most of it rigged out,took 2 days start too finish. With 6 guys on it and most of our kit we priced it roughly at 3k. Ive been on other big jobs as climber or running ropes but ive no idea of costs in tbose ones...

Serious answer is stretching which im sure you've been doing. Blairy was right in doing less,being more ergonomic. Realisticly you may have to slow down and pass on the heavy duties to others if u can. I agree with josh in that the gym can help but sometimes it can actually hinder healing. Its a fine balance But if all else fails then i still stand by whisky and wanking

I rarley do the first ascent with a saw unless its a 150 job. If i can be 4kg lighter then i will. Ive said it loads of times but climbers make the best groundies. Were all on the ball when it comes too keepin the climber happy and well stocked and safe. Mind you in a squad of 4 climbers who climb in rotation we are spoiled compared to the normal setup you guys have to deal with in the private sector day in day out. Thats part of the reason why i hardly do any subbie work anymore... The older i get the more im prone to just lobbing branches at cunts who are busy annoying the fuck out of me

Personally id plum for an older climber who doesnt climb regularly anymore. I had a guy work with me couple of times,never looked is if he was breaking sweat but got shit done. Never had to ask him to do something,he seen it needed done and done it. Difficult to answer this question as there are so many variables but take someone on a watch them work. Your evaluation of there skills and knowledge will determine the pay scale.

Pollarding london planes for 120 a day=no chance. You'd be desperate or a halfwit to climb in london area for that money. Good climbers are worth 200 a day in that area considering the cost of living.

Stick to the prussik for now. Learn the basics then try other friction systems. As said above id recommend hiring a kit from the training provider if thats an option.

Asbestos removal operative. Had to crawl under a church floor to remove asbestos panels in full face mask and respirator. The space was 6 brick high... That was the worst working day i ever had. I chucked it that day

Heres the thing for me.When i started as a chainsaw "operative" i loved tree work.I come from a gardening back ground so i was used to the physical side of the job.I didnt start climbing until i was in my mid thirties but i loved it at first. As the years go on you see the down sides,biggest one for me is weather. Climbing a slimey bastard sycamore in the pissin wet having tree juice running down your arm is not great fun. You go home,stinking,proper stinking. Then theres the summer when your just constantly sweating like a fat kid in a cake shop and pissing fanta cause your so dehydrated. Draggin cuttings through dog shit infested gardens,dealing with prick customers,the list goes on. Bright side. When everything clicks and you get your first proper climb,you've learned to trust your gear,you can get out on limbs, you take your first big swing,you knock a 20 foot top of a spruce,working with a great team who make you laugh till you piss yourself....its an amazing job it really is. Its dangerous,you have a family,so take time to consider that. The pay to work ratio is lousy. For some its a calling For others its just a job If you get into this industry be aware of its downfalls but it could be the best decision you ever made. If your were 25 and single with no kids id say jump in big man. But you arent and you have, so dont! Sorry but the industry is hellish to start later in life. Did it myself Wouldnt if i could go back. Sorry to be a bummer...realist...whatever

In my experience none if those exist. Pfanners are the most robust trousers but you'll need a sizeable inheritance or a bank loan to buy them. Ive yet to find a jacket that is waterproof,breathable and hard wearing. Let me know if you find one.
