  1. Ive done that, its called being erginomic. Only difference is ive got ppe,a risk assesment and a great ground team.
  2. But it is and that fact you dont know that means you wont earn as much as a tree firm does. Time is money bud. If you got a job that takes you all day because your less experienced/lacking in equipment/slower than me then i can knock out 3 jobs in that same day. Its really that simple
  3. To be fair an experiened person could get those trees on the deck with a pull rope, pole pruner and a chainsaw.
  4. Yeah,if you have a tractor it should be a piece of piss.If the butt digs in and jams as your pulling it,just saw a section off and move the rope up the stem, then pull with the tractor again. Make sure you have your hand signals pre organised with your tractor driver.
  5. Get a throwline as far up the acacia as you can, pull a rope up,severe at root plate and extract the hung up stem from the oak by either tifor, tractor or pulling system, 5:1 would do it by the looks if it. Repeat Or put a rope on the butt of the stem after its severed and pull it out.You would need a vehicle to do that, tifor and pulling system would struggle...
  6. That video certainly is doin the rounds. If your gonna take that full stem you better know what your doin and he clearly didnt. Dont see and anchor point up into the left hand stem, which probably benefited him as he fell with the impact. Read somewhere he had a broken collar bone and crushed vertebrae.
  7. Ive always liked wham last christmas mostly cause i copped a feel of a girls tits to that song... No mean feat in 82 when bras were made of chicken wire and plastic! Favourite xmas song 500 miles chrissie hynde/pretenders
  8. Anyone running an echo 620. Interested to hear how its holding up.
  9. Yeah i strip it down for loler so each part is looked at individually as fit for purpose. What petzl say means nothing to me.
  10. The instructions with the zillon show single line application. Zigzag can be used single line, ive done it but petzl dont recommend it for whatever reason-probably financial!
  11. Perhaps they left out the word sectional? So line would read its easier to prune a tree than sectional fell.
  12. Norway is expensive in comparisons but since its pay structure, pension and social security are also high, it balances out if you are a resident. Not good for frugally minded on holiday!
  13. Yeah its a small zigzag on a lanyard. I dont really like it as a lanyard as its easy to bend and stress the links. It has a good bit of sit back, like a hitch and you cant snug it up to a branch or stem like an art positioner. Also the bridge on the harness can press on the zillion links makin it slip, happend to me a few times. It has its positives too, very smooth to use,can be used in single line applications, for example- chokerd round a stem or to get better work position out on a long limb. I find its best if you get a thinner rope to put through it,just smoother with 11.5 rope. Hope that helps If asked,i wouldnt get another Positioner is way better
  14. It was decifering the accusitory tone from your statement joe ?
  15. Maybe lookin u up on insta rich
  16. Yeah we aint goin to agree on this one big boy.Im of the opinion that we can adhere to all the safety regulations, were ppe and apply all the common sense in the world but accidents still happen.
  17. Your sayin you chose to have an accident and go to hospital at the end of the day? If the point is you have a choice to have an accident or not then the points is bollocks! The fact accidents are called accidents tells you its unintentional.
  18. Dont fuck about get a 441 with 20 inch bar full chisel chain. 441 will pull a 25 inch bar aswell for the bigger stuff. Your welcome...
  19. Funny this has come up today as i ucliped my mainline to move anchor, noved anchor, didnt reattatch the zigzag to my bridge ring, was about to unclip my lanyard and sit back when i noticed... Done this a few times... Still makes me angry at myself... Dick!
  20. If you feel its worth the hassle the go for it.Just be as diplomatic as possible and dont let either neighbour use you as a go between. Good luck bud
  21. Are you skint? Do you really need the job? If the answer to the above questions is no then walk away. Ive had jobs like that and its shite. Not worth the hassle of 2 bellend neighbours who argue over some branches.
  22. Bread and butter climbing, nice footage, good music. Ticks all the boxes! What the song mate? Is it loch lomond?
