  1. I hear you, I'd love to be a bit more talented in landscaping, just trees can be bit boring.
  2. Yes of course, I should have said after deductions, ie business costs.
  3. I've looked at this thread a few times to try and figure out how your post is relevant to mine.
  4. For some reason I had this picture in my head.
  5. Yeah, didn't really think that through.
  6. Wind blown then regrow straight?
  7. Great stuff Bob, love seeing your gear. I recently protected the front of my Kubby, not quite to the same standard though!
  8. Say Stephan continued to charge too little, after a year to two his machine would blow up and he wouldn't have put aside the money to replace it. So he would have to go and get a job working for someone smarter than him. That's what I mean, we're all free to have a go, but there had to be some failure.
  9. Yes, it's called the free market economy.
  10. Germany were quite good, I liked the UK song but they put on a poor performance on the night.
  11. I totally hated this post......till I read the last sentence.
  12. That's how I understood it, i didn't realise a standard 1928 would qualify, years ago I had a 70 odd hp tracked arbor eater with just a top bar, it was a dream to use in comparison to modern machines. In the U.S. They only have top bars apparently.
  13. Don't all saws have a serial number?
  14. Nice work there Jaysmith, I hope you were careful putting that stuff through the chipper if it had silt on it,
  15. Like I said, my dad had one for years, they're ok........
  16. And therein lies the rub, in fairness it only takes a year to so with a firm for a guy (or girl) to achieve reasonable competence. Throw in all the new climbing and rigging hardware and techniques which make the job easier and safer and you attract more and more folks into it. You won't get rich climbing trees that's for sure, you can make a living but that's about it.
  17. Did a lot of strimming in a previous life. Going along nicely on a bank, "oh there's a wasp" two seconds later "oh there's two thousand wasps" drop strimmer and run......
  18. Everyone needs one of those. Hand splitting is medieval.
  19. Well done Stefan, you've recognized it, that makes rectifying it a lot easier. (We're all guilty from time to time of course)
  20. Give them a price on the spot, more likely to get a yes. What's to think about?
  21. Cheap enough from any agricultural suppliers, €25 for the pair, tractors have them for windows, doors etc.
