  1. I agree, very nice, good signage.
  2. Does it chip as well as it used to? As someone who stands at the hopper a lot you should know, ime a slightly rounded anvil doesn't make THAT much difference. But if you're there and it's apart it's worth doing. But I'm not sure at what stage of dismantling the front end you're at.
  3. Yes I'm bored! So I was mucking around in the workshop today, I went upstairs and my eye fell lovingly on the pile of ms200s and a solitary 020 (I thought I had more than one but have no proof) I keep them for spares of course but nostalgia as well, as they document my working life in this game. So there's 5 scrap toppers plus a couple of 201s in current use. Does anyone have any more? with pictures to prove it? Competition not open to dealers/fixers etc. Pics upside down but it doesn't really matter.
  4. So are you still waiting outside? I had a biggish job over an hour away chipper, 2 trucks, four blokes, money in if we did it in a day, that sort of thing. Anyway we turn up at 9ish and the gates are locked, so I start phoning the client who lived 2 minutes away, she finally answered all sleepily and said she'd be there asap. 15 minutes wasted x 4 = I working hour. 5 minutes later she arrives with some coffee with the excuse that "she's not really a morning person" as if that's an actual medical condition. "I'm not really a morning person" translation "I'm a lazy inconsiderate so and so" That's for another thread really I suppose.
  5. I though someone might! Might need to change the lubricant though.
  6. We have done it (the gas strut broke and had to be welded up) we used the blade of the chipper to push a socket on the end of a bar down the tube to compress the strut, when in position slip the bolt through. Your way does sound easier!
  7. I love this, We're getting bigger and bigger!
  8. Not quite as simple as that, the gas strut has to be pushed back into place which is awkward but yes, it's doable.
  9. I'm not superstitious at all, it's all rubbish. Except for my lucky pants when I played football, and never walking under ladders, never getting out of the other side of the bed.....they genuinely work.
  10. Ok cheers, plenty of them round here. The condom will have to do for a day or two though.
  11. Dunno Simon, what do you mean? These Chinese made vices fabricated from polystyrene always fail at the thread, put them under any real pressure and it strips it.
  12. Yes I can, but not before Monday! It's a Bradley double lock job so I'll get it on order on my return.
  13. Anyway I've got this GM220 and it came with a ring hitch. I've never had one before, what a PITA! Slamming and banging, a real nightmare. So we have to do a job a couple of hours south of me starting Monday, and I wasn't looking forward to the drive, so the groundy had the idea of wrapping an old inner tube round the ring, zip tie it in place and a bit of grease to prevent rubbing. I took it up the road and it's as smooth as silk....well almost. What's the deal with ring hitches? Are they always this bad? Why have them? Ps I'm aware what it looks like!
  14. Its a Wilton, made in the U.S. Bought it from a Desvaux near me, unbelievably it wasn't hideously overpriced!
  15. Nothing. Just as long as we know.
  16. Let's be honest here, it's complete nonsense.
  17. Can't remember what I paid now, with the strength of the pound it could work out a good deal over here for you lot. It was about 9€ More than the 560. It's the same saw. I just bought it 'cos it was in front of me. I can't tell the difference performance wise.
  18. I was in a similar situation so I bought a 271, always hated it, gutless pig. So I bought a 560 and loved it, and then bought a 562 (the same saw basically) wait a bit, beg, borrow or steal the extra 100 quid.
  19. 560, light, poky, love it. Streets ahead of the 271.
  20. Tell 'em Yews or something, should appease their pagan souls.
