  1. This bit doesn’t make sense, ah hang on see what you mean. Carry on.
  2. I think I remember that being a thing at college, and you’re right, it’s stupid, it’s always handy to have the saw on the ascent anyway, cut a few things on the way up.
  3. Leaf springs smiling, proceed boldly. Leaf springs level, drive humbly, avoiding the gaze of the rozzers. Leaf springs frowning, use only back roads mouthing silent prayers to the God of tree surgeons, ignoring rubbing wheel arches.
  4. As it goes I learnt something today. When smashing brambles it is counterproductive to lift the flail and descend down as one would do with a strimmer. The brambles which are still rooted in the ground just jam the flail and you have to reverse the flail it to free it. You should go in at ground level for a meter or so then reverse the Multione out, rinse and repeat. Much more efficient.
  5. There’s loads of threads where newbies ask “where do I start?” And they get loads of good training advice and the like.
  6. Flailing down some brambles to clear a space for the winch tractor tomorrow.
  7. Sounds like the little ‘actuator’ the thing that opens out to engage the dogs and turn the engine is jammed open. Anyway take it back or take it somewhere else. You don’t seem to have sufficient mechanical know how to sort it yourself even with the help of peeps on here. No offence meant, just seems the most sensible solution.
  8. Jesus, you weren’t chipping wood with a wood chipper were you? What were you thinking?
  9. Thanks Chris, 700 hours! Something else to add to the list.
  10. Does other people’s have this bulge? I’m not sure if it’s always been there. Just where the chip first hits the metal. Could you have a look please?
  11. You know this is the Jokes thread right?
  12. No, he did a laughing emoji, meaning he found it funny.
  13. Sure, crew cabs are the wrong choice for Arb imo anyway. Ally body/steel body can make a big difference as well.
  14. The absolute worst is long dead acacia, like iron.
  15. I know about that, but it’s not banned and it works. Just wear a mask and wellies
  16. Ha ha, I’m watching Inbetweeners 2 you remind me of Simon. (edit sorry Jay)
  17. Splitting mauls aren’t necessarily sharp, are we confusing splitting and cutting?
  18. If we are on the subject, the biggest change I’ve made in the last few years is using machines for lifting and dragging, first a digger with grab, then a tractor with grab and now the Multione. If i was hand balling the wood/brash all day as I used to I’d have taken that job stacking shelves. Climbing is like yoga in comparison.
  19. I dunno, the sun is setting on my time in the trees, I think 4/5 more years then I’ll just do some gardening and mowing to finish off. we’ll see, could all end Monday. I often think of @Adam Bourne who had to knock it on the head in his thirties because of work related niggles. At 54 I’ve been lucky (fingers crossed)
  20. You have to load it onto YouTube first, then onto here. Less difficult than it sounds.
