  1. To start the ball rolling by getting it wrong I’m going to say that it’s a bit Spindleberryish.
  2. All the rage these days, I have a sort of niece who now identifies as a male, taking hormones at age 17. Do you remember that Rachel Dolenz (or similar) who identified as black only a few years ago and was vilified for it. Seems like small potatoes these days. edit, here’s the story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Dolezal
  3. Unsure if they’re hormone induced or just moobs with a bra.
  4. Maybe one day, but I do have some morals so it would be naughty. Suffice to say he was/is a fat hairy unpleasant sort as a man, by all accounts (from a mate who has seen him down the pub) he is now a fat hairy unpleasant man in a dress and make up. Go figure.
  5. The one guy in my village who took waste wood for his burner has taken to dresses, lipstick and nail varnish, woman’s bathing costume in his pool, gone the whole hog, changed his name, grown tits. Not even joking.
  6. Very nasty, similar to something I did to myself recently, though with less serious consequences.
  7. Way past that stage I’m afraid. One of the unforeseen side effects of having a loader is that half tonne lumps of pine/willow/pop etc. Are difficult to palm off on folks who like free wood.
  8. Well no, just thought it was worth clarifying for the op. Quite right.
  9. Actually Bill that warrants a better explanation. By and large if you are retaining the tree you should piece it off, regardless of any Carlos Fandango cutting techniques, the possibility of it damaging the base of the tree on landing (a “sprongback”) or it going tits up and ripping down the length of the trunk are too great.
  10. No, not really, once the tips hit the ground all bets are off (don’t do it) I mean something high enough to freefall once the weight is enough to tear it off. The cut should be behind the branch collar, flush with the trunk. Don't try this on anything big just on my word of course! And be sure NOT to have your second tie in below the branch.
  11. As an aside if you cut behind the branch collar you can get it to peel off without drama. Species, size and many other variables of course.
  12. Send a few goblins over here!
  13. As they say, it depends. Mostly on species, cedar for example will pop off lovely, spruce will hang and pinch the saw.
  14. These little Kubotas are very popular here, run a small topper etc. Should get a decent one for 5k.
  15. So take off all the dead stuff on the left (as we look) and reduce to what seems to be live on the right and centre, how’s it look now? For all we know it could have been left like that for the bats and bugs, put in some of that Bart Simpson cutting at the ends you’ll have the cognoscenti purring over it.
  16. Quite right As long as I can’t see it from my house, I’ll do it (usually)
  17. Don’t be disingenuous Mark! Seriously though it’s as boring as hell, load of virtue signally by peeps trying to think of new ways of describing how bad it is and tagging others with “did you do this?” Pointless.
  18. Without knowing the whole story speculation is pointless. Leave the slagging off of crap work to newbies on Arbtalk FB.
  19. There’s alway so many variables in these threads. Say you were a lad getting into the game grounding for a decent firm, little bit of climbing sometimes, looking to gain experience and move forward, then the lower figures would be about right. If you’re a bit older, reliable and efficient and you have it as your career then you’ll command more. Whether you get it is another matter of course.
  20. Does the timber wagon have a solid flaw on back or bolsters Mick? Solid floor Don, not mine, a local guy comes and gets my big stuff, the deal is he gets it free but he has to come on time, on the day and no moaning about access!
  21. Decent oak and ash over a road/power line. No action shots I’m afraid. Only paused to get the phone out when it was all on the floor.
